Looking for a book that teaches maths in a fun way, preferably with questions/puzzles to solve (I guess a Maths Murdle?)

I’m not sure if there’s many books like this but I was hoping to refresh my knowledge of maths and was looking for a book that not only teaches maths but then lets you apply it, preferably in a fun way like the way Murdle works or has a story throughout. I tried asking a book recommendation sub but I haven’t received any responses yet.

Thank you for any suggestions!

Please just get a TIE

I know appointments are a nightmare, I know you think you’re not going to renew, but it is the law. Plus, half the time people end up wanting to renew anyways, only to find out that they needed the TIE all along or they’ve left the country and now need to restart the whole process.

You can find details online regarding release dates for appointments. Check everyday when you have a spare minute, I’ve seen two weeks worth of appointments after randomly checking at 7:05PM.

Some regions even have an email address you can use to request an appointment if it’s been over two months.

I know it seems impossible but it isn’t and you’ll save yourself a headache later.

Why do people complain about tiny/can’t control things to the bride or groom during the wedding itself?

Just like the title says, why do people think it’s okay to complain to the bride and groom during the wedding about tiny, inconsequential things or stuff that is out of the bride and groom’s control?

For example, during my wedding my husband’s grandmother complained that the road outside the venue was blocked so she had to walk two minutes after being dropped off. We hadn’t been warned, there’d been an accident, so we couldn’t have warned anyone. The same grandmother asked me ten minutes before the ceremony if I was sure that witnesses are allowed to be family members, despite knowing that the ceremony was family only so, if that were true, then I wouldn’t be able to get married.

Similar stuff happened at my parent’s wedding whereby their parents complained about the weather, other guests, the colours of napkins etc.

So, is this common? I just don’t understand the logic, thank you!

Updated budget face masks?

Hi, I hope this question is okay! I searched the sub but the last discussion was from a while ago, so I thought it would be interesting to see if there’s any new budget face masks that people really like. Personally, I like the I’m Unau Bakuchiol Vanilla Rewind (€1 in my area) and the A’Pieu Milk masks (also €1).

Please let me know if you have any cheap masks you really like, thank you!

[CHAT] How to prevent future pain due to cross stitching?

I’ve been on a health kick and I’ve started to try and look after my body a little bit more and one thing that came up was, although craft hobbies are brilliant for mental health, they can be silent killers regarding pain due to the repetitive movements.

So, is there any way to try and minimise potential issues? I saw someone mention compression gloves but are there any other tricks or tips? I’ll sound silly but would flexing your fingers/rotating your wrist before stitching help? Breaks after an hour or so? etc.

Thank you for any advice!

Edit: Thank you for all of the tips! I’ll definitely be using them.

Is it uncommon nowadays for tourists to at least ask if locals speak English?

¡Gracias!

I know no one saw this film but I’m surprised how underrated Wulf is (Lord of the Rings: War of the Rohirrim).

How to make respectful greeting cards for Islamic holidays?

Hello! I’m sorry if this is a silly question but I have started volunteering to make cards for children in hospital. I’ve made some general greeting cards as well as cards for Christian holidays (e.g. Christmas and Easter) but I was hoping to make some cards for Islamic holidays.

Unfortunately, the charity I’m volunteering for doesn’t really have any guidelines regarding cards of this nature and, as such, I have some questions:

  1. Are cards for holidays normal to receive?

  2. What rules should I abide by if so? For example, I’ve heard that I shouldn’t depict animals or humans and should focus on geometric shapes, patterns, flowers etc. Is there anything else I should be aware of?

Thank you for any help and I hope you have a good day/night!
