Smell in my bathroom is driving me INSANE.

Edit: going to have someone check the wax ring!

Ever since someone came over, my bathroom has smelt like something died in a Porta potty and I can’t find the source. I’ve scrubbed the floors on my hands and knees with bleach, urine remover, etc. I’ve cleaned the entire toilet inside and out. I threw away the plunger and toilet brush and got new ones. I swear every day it gets worse. I’ve tried airing it out, leaving the exhaust fan on for hours, everything.

The smell is only on one side of the toilet which, of course, is where the indent to my shelf with all my stuff on it is. So every time I go to grab something I’m gagging.

Please. If anyone has any suggestions I will be eternally grateful. I’m genuinely going insane and I’m about to rip the entire toilet out of the bathroom and replace it despite my home being a rental.

What’s the best ant-bait/killer?

Last year I used the terro ones and for whatever reason I got the raid ones like an idiot and they do NOT work. The ants just go around it and try to find something else.

I haven’t had the time to go out and get any (and I would very much so appreciate some good options I can get at Walmart). In the mean time I mixed honey and baking soda, which worked, but I ended up with ants exploded in half in my basement which was not fun to clean up considering the entire colony was all over the floor & it took a while to vacuum up.

I caulked where I could but those sneaky sh*ts ate a hole through it, and now I’ve deemed war because one bit my dog and left a nasty mark on her.

So, I need suggestions to eliminate the entire colonies.

▲ 3 r/ticks

Found the holy grail to pissing ticks off

Me, a totally normal & sane person from NH, decided to do experiments on the ticks I found. The best spray I’ve found is Zesty paws flea&tick spray for my dogs. I sprayed different sprays on my fingers & this one (5 different ticks) each one ignored the finger with the zesty paws and went right on to the permitherin sprays, advantix, etc.

So zesty paws is a win!

Mystery snail

Got this mystery snail from my LPS a week ago, how does his shell look? It looks kind of brittle imo. I have a cuttlebone in the tank & one in the back of my filter currently to help him. Is there a better way to help?

Hitchhiker?

Went out of state for 2 days and came back to this alien in my tank.. what is he?

(I have 2 mystery snails and 3 nerites in my betta tank + my ghost shrimp but I don’t think the bugs can make snails)

Going away for the weekend

This is my first weekend away from my tank (I’ll be out of state)

What should I do about feeding my betta & snails? I’ll be gone 2 days

Edit: I typically feed my betta 4 pellets a day (2-morning 2-evening) & fast on Thursdays

Perfume that is lilac scented?

Hello! I’m looking for a perfume that smells like lilac and has NO powder notes.

Might be weird but similar to the lilac sunrise febreze LOL

Any recommendations?

Is it okay to have fake plants while waiting for the real ones to be shipped?

Saved this guy (named him rodger) from a cup with enough ammonia to kill a small whale. I’ve got 3 real plants at the moment but the rest are taking forever to ship to me. Is it okay to keep these silk ones in there for the time being? I’ve got 3 pregnant shrimp that are ready to pop any moment so they need some cover to weigh out Darwin.

I had them soak in conditioned water & tested it and there was nothing wrong w/ said test

He seems happy with them, he’s a curious landlord after a few days of adjusting lol

Here’s my checklist; 10 gall tank w/ lid

Water conditioner and dechlorinater

Water heater & thermometer

Hikari betta food

Water testing kit

Filter

Live plants

Beneficial bacteria

Substrate (need recommendations)

Fish decor

Little cleaning crew (also need recommendations, please none of those scary snails that somehow clone themselves into 40000 w/i 2 days)

Should i cycle the tank before? And for how long? It’s been a looooong time since I’ve had a betta. Also open to good articles to read!
