Getting great 5G connectivity with Google Fi! (via T-mobile)

This is at my apartment in a small town on the Oregon Coast. Remote service seems slightly weaker than my p9pro (and no satellite) but peak speeds and general service is great.

2x 'telephoto' Pictures with the t2e

2x 'telephoto' Pictures with t2e. Not hating on it, 50mm ffe is my favorite focal length! But it's a pretty 'normal' focal length, so i struggle to call it a tele lens.

Anyways, detail is surprisingly ok. With good lighting it's not terrible and it can offer some natural background separation on some portrait style subjects (which are not suitable to post here, sorry) Sensor is very small and quality completely falls apart in poor light.

Bikepacking the Gifford Pinchot

Film shots from three wonderful days in the Gifford-Pinchot on a bikepacking trip on some chunky gravel. Stopping at an ice cave along the way and climbing up to camp at a glacially fed lake. Huckleberry picking and day rides for three days up there with no cell reception or running water.

Update: Out of town guy gets his phone! First thoughts and one quibble.

I posted earlier this week about my phone arriving while I was out of town. My friend happened to be joining me where I am at this week and ferried my phone across the state to me!!!

It is **awesome**. Very tiny, great keyboard that has been fun to get used to, great screen for the price etc. My carrier (Google Fi) doesn't support esim with this device so I need to want until I get home for testing wireless. But I'm using it a ton and I really like it!

AND I believe in airing out issues so that later buyers are aware. So it has "33 watt" wired charging, in advertisements at least. I am finding that the phone never exceeds 15 watts? I have a wattage tracker on my high end charger that I used, as well as the official charger from Unihertz (tracked via accubattery). Neither are showing anywhere remotely close to 33 watts. Am I the only one noticing this?

My T2E arrived but I'm out of town for the week πŸ’”

I was a first hour backer on kickstarter, waited so long for it, shipping estimates from ontrac were super unreliable, and of course I am out out of town when it gets here so I can't enjoy it for another week.

Feeling thankful it came tho!

And excited for everyone else who got one!

Nvidia’s latest cards aren’t affected by the RAM crisis. (and how Guy Debord was terminally correct)

https://www.theverge.com/tech/963309/nvidia-geforce-trading-cards-series-1-free-giveaway

>"The spectacle is capital accumulated to the point where it becomes image. Everything that was directly lived has moved away into a representation."

β€” Guy Debord,Β The Society of the SpectacleΒ (Thesis 34)

Gaming itself was a spectacular intervention of capital into the realms of play and entertainment. Relations between people being mediated by images which are bought. Now, even the concept of gaming has become too 'real' and the AI crisis has priced them out of people's hands such that the only thing within reach is the image of the means of productive capacity to play games which have been bought.

(I know this sub leans towards theory and writing, so let me know if this post is too 'applied' in nature, just amazed the legs on the theory of Guy Debord and how it feels more true every day)

Astoria Swim Center [Olympus OM-4, 100mm f2.8, Kodak Gold 200]

I always thought it was weird that there's a pool right next to a 6 mile wide river that flows into the ocean.

Film pics from our last week with Harvey Milk (14)

Just got the developed film back from our last hike with the lil guy before he went downhill the weekend afterwards. I miss him so much but feeling thankful for all the times we had together.

For the film folks: I took these on a half frame 1960s Olympus Pen F with the 40mm f1.4, Kodak Gold 200

Just lost my sweet, tiny 14 year old Pom boy

14 precious amazing years with my lil 3.5 lb bro... Can't believe he's not on this plane anymore. Cherish every moment with your old pups because you'll regret every moment you miss. πŸ˜πŸ’”πŸ™πŸ»

R.I.P. Harvey Milk

14 years with my sweet precious sassy boy Harvey. I know I'm so fortunate to have known and held and played with him... But it still didn't feel like enough. Wish I could wake up to your tiny kisses and play sock fetch with you just a few more times. πŸ˜πŸ’”πŸ¦Š

Payment got 'collected' but my bank declined it as a 'fraudulent charge', now the whole website is down!

Hoping it gets back up soon so I don't lose my spot in the pre-order line!!

Seems like I am not the only one attempting to fix their payment on file!

Fam visit to my lil river town on the Oregon Coast (Olympus Pen F 150 mm F4, Kodak Gold 200)

My family cam to visit the lil Oregon Coast Town I work in, but I had left my 40mm lens for my Pen-F in Portland so I only had my 150mm F4 lens. Really not convenient for holiday snapshots, but you gotta work with what you got!

Just a reminder: Licorice is awesome! But when you have too much, the Glycyrrhizin builds up, and it sucks!

I survived but it has killed people! Raises your blood pressure and makes your body dump potassium in favor of holding onto all the sodium.

I was drinking 5ish cups of Licorice tea per day at work, for a few weeks and I started to feel very strange. Yogi Tea puts it in almost all their teas, and it's delicious but proceed with caution!

Any other words of caution for seemingly benevolent substances from my fellow herbalists?
