Am I the Best Dad Ever?

I started giving my 2yo son high 5s every time he farts. Now, if he farts, he shouts, “Dada I fart!” and runs over to give me a hi5 (he isn’t old enough to worry about past tense yet).

Sometimes in public, passersby give looks of sheer admiration. The folks in the library were particularly impressed.

Am I the best dad ever?
Have I peaked, or can dadding skills get even better?

I have never seen this tree before

Found in Germany (in Paderborn).

The tree looked a bit like a maple tree.
I didn’t have my phone so I took bits if the tree home.

Waxing or Waning

How to tell?

(I live in the northern hemisphere)

Is there a way to look at the moon on any random night and know if it is waxing or waning? If the (for example) left is half shown and the right is half black, do clever people say, “Aha! Yes, in 7 days it will be a full moon.”

Everywhere in Germany

This plant is found growing:

*Along the road in the countryside
*On the forest floor (mostly beech trees)
*In my inlaws’ garden (as a weed)

Is this a Bee Nettle?

Is this edible?

These plants were growing in amongst stinging nettle, but the ones with white flowers were not stinging?

Red-Leafed Cherry Tree???

Growing in a friends’ garden. They just moved in and claimed it was a cherry tree, but I think they are just guessing.

I have never seen a cherry tree with *RED LEAVES*…

So what is this plant?

(Found in rural western Germany)

Hogweed (very varied-looking)

I want to double check that this isn’t Giant Hogweed growing all up the lane to my in-laws’ house.

I *think* it is just common hogweed, but there is such a variety:

purple stem / green stem,

wide leaves / narrow leaves,

Etc

Umbrella on 23 Bus

I found an umbrella on the bus.

I am worried that if I hand it in to the driver, that it will just end up in the bin.

I doubt anyone would contact a Police Station’s Lost and Found over an umbrella.

I want to give it away to someone that might actually use it.

What would y’all do? Can I take it?

Fully Biodegradable Clothes

I just want to orders some underwear (mens) where everything is truly 100% cotton or linen. I can find two companies doing it in the USA but they don’t deliver to where I am.

Zero plastic, that means a fully organic:
*Stitching/thread.
*No Dye (or genuine plant dyes, but I think undyed is better).
*Unbleached.

And they need to deliver to one of the following:
*UK
*Germany
*Hong Kong

Does anyone have any recommendations?

[Request] How much money could fit inside a house?

I was trying to think of a good way to visualise 1billion. I thought about how many £50 notes would fit inside a 700 square foot house and got ~£7’000’000’000 ‘s worth of 50-pound notes.

My working is as follows:
*a two-metre stack of £50 notes is ~£1million.
*one of these stacks is about 0.1 square feet.
*You could fit ~7’000 stacks in an average flat in a city.
*£1million x 7’000 is £7billion

(Maybe it would be slightly more given that a ceiling is more like 2.5m high, but it is a good order-of-magnitude estimate)

Plastics in Teabags

When I found out about microplastics in teabags, I searched for a brand that didn’t contain them. I started using M+S teabags: I bought some teabags a few months ago which said ‘COMPOSTABLE TEABAGS’, great!

I have been buying M+S teabags ever since, but I have noticed that they stopped putting the ‘COMPOSTABLE TEABAGS’ on their packaging… does that mean that they have swapped back to plastic teabags?
