16 week old ACD plays with human chew bone and gets a nice massage

Hi all ! My pup didn't get anxious at all for his first July 4th fireworks yesterday night which was pretty cool. He was just super chill. How do your ACDs react for fireworks? I heard it can get pretty hectic for dogs.

We just worked out together plenty at the park with the giant herding ball and now we are just chilling at home. He is such a great dog. Enjoy!

16 week old ACD loves E-collar + swirly slide

Hi all! It is the second day that my puppy is using E collar. Larry Krohn has an amazing YouTube playlist on how to properly use the collar. Before I did any research on this tool, I really didn’t want to use it because I thought it was painful, but I used it on myself before I put it on my puppy and it just feels like a light tap on the lowest perceived sensitivity level which was level six for me. There’s a total of 100 something levels I think.

I’m planning to teach my dog off leash recall for when I want to go biking together. He still loves the swirly slide and he hardly ever gives me any chance to use the Ecollar because he learns so quickly. I make sure to give him treats every single time I use that ecollar. It’s really amazing to see him always come when I ask him to. Enjoy!

15 week old ACD plays tether ball

Hi all ! It is my puppy playing with a tethered ball. I know they shouldn’t be jumping much until they are about a year old since their joints are still developing so this is a rare video just for fun.

He recently learned how to lay down before going through any door or starting any activity. Still working on getting him to sit or lay down before greeting people.

Enjoy!

14 week old ACD plays with herding ball

Hi all ! It is my puppy playing with a new herding ball. He’s not really interested in balls. This is a rare footage of him actually playing with the ball. He’s super into tug and fetch. I do want to figure out how to get him to be super interested in the herding ball though. I think it would be really fun to play with it in a large open field at the park.

He’s gotten very good at loose leash walking. It’s really amazing how quickly puppies learn. It took no more than two days to get him to stop trying to pull me wherever he wants to go. A lot of it was just prioritizing practicing any kind of calming activities with him, and that calmness translates to him being able to think more clearly in every other area.

For instance, I always make him lay down before any kind of activity, always check back on me during walks, random rewards for being quiet in the crate or randomly when I see him laying down.

Enjoy!

14 week old ACD takes the marshmallow test (Except with fried chicken)

Hi all ! I used last night’s box of fried chicken dinner to train my puppy with impulse control. I have been teaching him how to relax while I eat food. He used to steal a lot of my food all of the time when I wasn’t looking. Last one he stole was a double double In-N-Out hamburger. He took a small bite from that one a few days ago.

Enjoy!

14 week old ACD loves getting pet wiped

Hi all ! My puppy loves getting pet wiped. Also, today was the first time he realized he’s tall enough to be able to jump into my bed. He kept jumping into my bed this morning. It’s so surprising how fast they grow.

I started teaching him how to do the “down” command today in overstimulating environments when he wants to bark at things like the tennis ball shooting machine at the park. It helps to calm him and prevent sudden barking. I also practiced loose leash walking and training his attention by giving him treats randomly when he would check back on me.

He seems to learn all the new commands very quickly which is awesome.

We played frisbee at the park today which was super fun. He got soaked by water from the sprinklers just to fetch it and always came back. He’s been getting really great at doing all of his potty at the potty hole in the backyard. He cycles through a lot of different behaviors that he remembers has gotten him treats so he tends to go to the potty hole often to do potty and get rewards, lol.

Enjoy!

13 week old ACD plays frisbee

Hi all ! I have been practicing biking with my puppy on a leash these past two days in the mornings. He does really well. In the evening we played plenty of tug-of-war and here is some pool frisbee. Enjoy!

P.S. Watch until the end for a surprise xD

Enjoy! :)

13 week old ACD gets belly rub at the potty hole

Hi all ! My puppy used to bite me all the time for fun because he felt too comfortable, but he doesn’t do that anymore because I started to correct him every time. I took him for a run around the park this morning and now he’s chilling. Enjoy!

13 week old ACD has the pool zoomies

Hi all ! This guy makes me die laughing everyday. He is so random. He learned how to stop biting the leash and how to be quiet and relax around the house today. I just had to let him know that some of his behaviors was totally not OK. He fought me a bunch, but eventually he gave in and he’s been respectful ever since. Enjoy!

13 week old ACD loves the swirly human slide (Day 4)

Hi everybody, thanks for all the tips in my previous post. He learns so quickly new tricks in less than three minutes! He learned “go to your bed” yesterday afternoon. I just copied what I learned from YT kikopup and was surprised it worked so quickly.

His behavior has changed drastically. He used to be more explorative, but now he’s more operant and follows me around and tries to figure out how to get treats from me and always checks on me.

Anyways, I introduced my puppy to the slide on the ninth! We started going every morning on the swirly slide, but we missed yesterday so it’s his fourth day. I’m so curious why he is so into the swirly slide. Enjoy!

10 week old ACD plays with rocks and chills in potty hole

Hey everybody. This is my cattle dog three weeks ago. He jumped into the pool, was racing around the yard, and playing with rocks in the potty hole. 💀

Even though it can drive me insane at times, I absolutely love how hyper and explorative he is. Enjoy!

ACD pup learned that he is tall enough to jump on sofas and tables

Today was the first day my puppy just casually, jumped on the coffee table and walked across onto the sofa to hang out with me like that was nothing xD He used to not be able to climb into the sedan by himself. They grow so fast!

I’ve been having to clean off a lot of of the shelves in my room because he’s a lot taller now. I got him one month ago. He is 13 weeks old right now.

How did you all get adjusted to these velociraptors reaching new heights?

Pool potty

Hi all ! It is my puppy playing in the pool after a long walk around the park. He has this habit of drinking water where he pees. He likes to pee in the pool and play in there and he likes to sleep in the soil of where he pees and poos. How can I teach him to no longer play and relax in the potty areas? Thanks!

How do you teach your puppy to no longer put dirty stuff in clean places?

Hi all ! I am learning so much from this fantastic community. Especially by just sorting and reading through the top posts of all time.

I currently have a 11 week old Australian cattle dog. I have had him for 2 weeks already since he was 9 weeks old. He is AMAZING in almost every area. Gets along super well with everyone, very confident, calm when left alone at home, super curious and loves to play with all of his toys (he is like a cat when it comes to flirt pole games - incredibly good at it), very observant and rapid learner.

However, some of his quirks that I have observed:

- struggling to unlearn that potty indoors is no longer fine (Back when I just got him, he used to bark to let me know he needs to potty. He just auto-potties now because when he was recovering from parvovirus I allowed him to potty inside since he was weak. It seems like he knows I don't like him pottying inside but he decides to save his potty for indoors anyway because he is super comfy there. He has his own private puppy proof yard with a designated potty hole that he only sometimes potties in. Also, he does his potty in random places in the yard. Not sure how to get him to only potty in the specific potty hole. It is full of soil and shaded.)

- dragged toys into potty pads a few times
- sleeps on fake potty grass often
- lays in potty hole soil often
- pees in puddle that he also drinks water from few times
- dragged a potty pad into his bed once
- peed in his playpen once
- pees everywhere that isn't the potty pads many times

I use Rocco & Roxie Supply Co. Stain & Strong Odor Eliminator, Enzyme Cleaner so that might be confusing him a bit.

Things I have tried:
- I tried attaching a bell by the door for him to notify me but he pulls it off the wall or just rings it for fun sometimes so I stopped using it
- Fake grass worked really well but I didn't like how he would sleep in it too so I stopped using it
- I tried taking him consistently every 20 minutes to his specific potty hole outside and say "go pee" and point at the soil and wait outside for 5 minutes. It doesn't work because he saves his potty for indoors sometimes and most of the time I point at the potty hole then he goes inside and lays in it.

Possible struggle factors:

- I haven't been able to give him any treats for a very long time since he was severely sick from parvovirus (had a night where he puked 10 times after I picked him up from breeder and he only had 1 vaccine + 1 dewormer. He is kind of a miracle puppy because of how sick he was. He was rushed to the ER pet hospital. I just gave him his 2nd dewormer). He has just been eating bland food which he totally loves Blue Buffalo Life Protection Formula Chicken & Brown Rice Puppy Dry Dog Food with DHA & ARA - and drinking water mixed with electrolytes. Today is actually the second day I am testing out if I can give him treats without him puking it out (the first time I tried a few days ago, he puked it out)

- Perhaps because of his illness, he doesn't present as "food motivated". He was ignoring all the treats for a long time. (He is FINALLY starting to poop solids since 1-2 days ago. Ew, diarrhea!!) However a few days ago, he was totally into the fresh farm raised boiled chicken slices, suddenly so attentive lol.

I will appreciate so much hearing your thoughts. I am actually getting very itchy from him doing dirty things and then getting excited to see me and clawing at my skin. I always use pet wipes on him but I can't do it thaaaaaaat frequently, lol. Thanks! :)

Day 11 of FPV IRL - First time flying Pavo Femto (Dog chase)

Hi all ! I got this drone a whole month ago. Never got to fly it since it arrived unexpectedly broken. Finally repaired it and soldered on a new flight controller.

Super fun! They can overheat fast. These drones are currently on sale on BetaFPV btw! Recently just ordered an Air 65 and a Pavo Pico II while I was picking up spare parts.

Anyone know what BADRX warning is all about? Is it dangerous? Don't want to accidentally fry my controller or drone.

Enjoy!

Hi all ! Thanks for your tips in the previous post. Super helpful.

I have been practicing soldering for a good 2 weeks now. I am finally working on a real board now. It is for one of my drones called the Pavo Femto. This was really challenging because the parts were all so tiny. I got it done but still need to fix some gaps with the motor adapter parts. It is challenging to fix this since I can't seem to get the board hot enough to loosen up the strands and I am also worried about heating up the board too much !

Hi all ! Thanks for your tips in the previous post. Super helpful. I am about to start soldering on a new flight controller that came in the mail recently for my Pavo Femto drone. I had a 45 minute practice session today. I am starting to get the hang of soldering wires. Feel free to leave feedback. Thanks! :)
