Finally got the amount of lemons I want!!

Finally got the amount of lemons I want!!

I always order an unsweet tea with lemon. Most times it comes out with one puny lemon slice or no lemon at all. I've finally resorted to specifically asking for a few lemons every time and tonight my boy delivered!! He shall be receiving a fat tip!!

Our Admin didn't use the correct code over the intercom.

We barricaded the door with my desk, lined up the kids on the wall, grabbed the bat from the closet, and for over twenty minutes we held our breath, not knowing it was a drill.

I had spent a whole year saving to afford the deductible for my birth control implant because I knew I could never afford a child.

When the test came back positive, I called to ask how this could be and was told my insurance no longer offers coverage so all remaining implants had been shut off; but they currently had a special offering $25 off my first prenatal visit to make up for the inconvenience.

Sometimes you don't realize how much you do until you say it out loud.

I always wonder if I'm doing enough. I'm not a lead and try to be as helpful as I can. We're a small school and last night was back to school night. Our admins had us stand to introduce ourselves to the new families and state what we do.

We all take on different things so everyone said one or two. When it was my turn I mentioned how I assist *here* in the morning, take over *here* in the afternoon, run *this* after school program, and lead *this* new program we're doing with *this* other class. My admin said, "Yeah she wears a lot of hats."

It had never **really** dawned on me just how much I take on.

That doesn't even mention how I do before and aftercare, that I know our cleaning crew because of how often I run into them when everyone else has gone home, and that I participate in almost all of our off campus events because I know how to make animal balloons, which draws people to our booth.

Over the summer I did prep work for different classes. Also, one of our other classes moved rooms so I spent multiple days carrying materials and furniture upstairs to the new space.

The thing is though, I don't mind doing it all, I love it actually. I thrive when I'm busy and have things to focus on. My admins and school are great! I could easily give up any of the things I take on with complete understanding, support, and zero guilt.

Yes, maybe I am one of those problem teachers I've seen people talk about on here that take on too much and dedicate too much of their lives to the school, but honestly I don't care. I wouldn't do it if I didn't have the support of the wonderful team we have.

I think I labeled this as humor because I just had to laugh at myself and how ridiculous I've been. How I keep thinking maybe I don't do enough. I really gotta stop worrying and cut myself some slack sometimes.

Chicken Biryani with Greek Yogurt and cilantro

I got the recipe from a card that came with my rice cooker. No longer have the rice cooker, still have the recipe.

My hair at the beginning of my curl journey vs 2 years in vs a few months ago

Figured since I'm getting my first cut and color in over 2 years on Saturday I'd do a little comparison. The first pic is from 4 years ago when I did a big chop!

What is the most round about way you've discovered a hobby?

I got inspiration for this post from the one about your most consistent hobby.

**I got into Animal Balloons because I was taking Principles of Biomedical Science.**

We did a project about blood clots and stints with balloons as representation. By the end I was the only one in class who hadn't popped theirs. I looked up how to make a sword and it was easy. I undid that and made a dog. I just kept making and unmaking things until it popped.

The next day I went out, bought a few hundred balloons, my own balloon pump, and found a bunch of tutorials by [this guy.](https://youtube.com/@balloonanimals1?si=FYPUhuBbBp5Nmbq8) I sat at the dining table all day just watching videos and making balloons.

I never expected it to be useful, but I've done birthday parties, festivals, community events, etc. Now I teach and every time we have a school event I'm making balloons. For our silent auction fundraiser I auctioned off two tickets for 1.5 hours of me balloon twisting at an event of your choice.

I've even dressed like a clown! I have a wig and everything! People have been telling me I need to start a Facebook page or something because it's all word of mouth right now, and maybe I will. I genuinely love doing it 10 years later. Even on the days I have a nonstop line for over 3 hours haha
