As the title says, I will be in Japan and will be staying in Shinjuku for about 6 days so I was thinking about getting some plushies that have been insanely difficult to find while going to physical stores.

Does it make sense to use a proxy for this kind of thing? mostly because YahooAuctions JP and the such wont let you create an account unless you have a @~softbank email account which I dont have of course

Sadly City Fitness Thorndon completely messed up the class scheduling moving them around for some unexplainable reason I can't attend anymore due to overlapping hobbies.

I am keen to find a new GYM but also not super keen on getting a crazy premium membership, just want do HITT classes, no spa, nor anything fancy besides that.

So we'll be visiting Japan in September with friends and we wanted to get to experience an Izakaya and follow it up with some Karaoke.

I can google and find the best rated ones of course, but my main concern is showing up to a place and suddenly finding out they don't accept foreingers, I can speak Japanese but my kanji skills are beyond terrible so I cannot really read very well myself.

Anyways, just thought I would ask around about any establishments people might know in the area which they enjoyed and were not super expensive (under ~6000yen if possible) ?

Hi there! Planning my 4th trip to Japan soon and it would seem that will be in Tokyo during the 4th and 5th of September.

My understanding of Japanese is pretty basic but I really dont mind not getting english subtitles and not getting 100% of the dialogs, I am in it the experience, a movie theater in Japan + SEKIRO (also, it is not uncommon for movie theaters to sell merch of the movies they project)

Anyways, I was just wondering if anyone living in Japan has heard any news about the movie theaters that will show the film and if there is talk of tickets being sold anytime soon? 🤔

I got a second hand console with a modded battery and I should be receiving it today.

My initial plan is to install some Sekiro, DMC5, Asura's Wrath (ps3), Ghost of Tsushima, HyperLight Drifter, SOR4, Absolum, Fury and Cuphead, Gunvolt 2, Scott Pilgrim Vs The World.

What other cool games similar to those do you guys recommend to enjoy the handheld ?

Also, is it possible to have simultaneously a partition of SteamOS and a Windows/Bazzite for games "outside of steam" and choose which one you want to boot up?

Hi there old dude here (40m) keen to play classics like Golden Axe, Streets or Rage, Sunset Riders, Cadillacs and Dinosaurs, AvP, Final Fight, Captain Commando, Top Hunter, SpinMaster, something along those lines. Or may be some matches of Marvel vs Capcom? Street Fighter 3rd Strike? KOF98?

Extra points if you enjoy Metal Slug and are keen to play through most of the saga 1-2-x-3-4-5-6 (its free in Fightcade you just need to configure it)

Currently I am keen to look for one of the handhelds in the market between Steamdeck, Rog Ally, Claw and Lenovo Legion but there are so many different versions that is getting a little bit too convoluted for me.

At the moment I am following a few listings...

• Valve Steamdeck 250gb 1010 for 450usd
• Asus rog ally z1 extreme for 500usd
• Legion Go z1e gen 1 for 470usd
• MSI Claw (Intel Core Ultra 16GB 512GB SSD 120Hz 1080p) for 470usd

Ideally I want it to play games like:

* Sekiro
* Ghost of Tsushima
* Devil May Cry 5
* MH: Iceborne

* and of course a bunch of indies.
Potentially some PS vita emulation as well.

As long as I can get 3 hours out of the console I do not care for more battery power than that. Also, not really worried about speakers I will use headphones most of the time. Its mostly about the possibility of running the games in a decent framerate and not having to drop the video configurations to VERY LOW, I am definitely not obsessed with insane quality of graphics in a portable console.

I could wait until August and scout some second hand consoles in Tokyo but there would be a lot of luck involved there as well I guess.

Ps. I am only interested in deciding among those listings so please do not suggest that I get this other handheld from another shop from your country.

So I am going Japan for about 2 weeks this time around and will be mostly hanging around Tokyo and Sado Island. I did manage to squeeze 3 days in my itinerary to go visit Kanazawa and Fukui just to see some less populated areas and also the Dinosaur museum, since it looks fun.

What I am wondering is, just like Tokyo has Akihabara, Oosaka has DenDen Town and in a "smaller" size Nagoya has Oosu Kanon, is there a significant large shopping district in any of those two cities to go hunting for stuff? Mainly second hand technology and potentially some anime stuff as well.

Does the JSON file also download the BIOS files required for each emulator?

I have been installing/uninstalling the emulator and moving it around different folders for over half an hour now.

I rent a small studio flat, so far I have always been renting directly from owners but this time around I ended up renting through a agency - property manager. The landlord has been neglectful about communicating stuff that affected me directly and indirectly and the property manager has barely been available to hear my concerns.

I am lucky enough that I am moving away from this place and not having to deal with these people anymore, however, because they are looking to occupy the flat they are coordinating viewings of the place I am still living at. It makes me really anxious that they are taking strangers for viewings during hours that I cannot be there without my consent and my things are there for someone to steal or touch or whatever, this might be a cultural thing but it makes me really anxious. They basically are legally allowed to enter the flat with my things in it and I am guessing if something ends up missing I wont have any legal grounds make a formal complaint? Its just such an odd thing

I guess this is mostly a venting post more than anything.

Ps. I collect rare games and figurines extrenely hard to come by and I cant simply find somewhere else to store them in the meantime.
