I Finally Got My Answer But I Dunno How to Move Forward

I posted here a while ago asking whether I should tell the girl I liked how i felt. I got a lot of different opinions. Some people told me to go for it, some told me to wait, and some thought I was probably reading too much into her actions nd I ended up confessing. She told me that she sees me as a really good friend and that she had never thought about me in that way 😭🥀

But the part I'm struggling with is that this is the first time I've ever loved someone like this. I've never had feelings this strong for anyone before nd I've never been in a situation where I cared about someone this much and then had to figure out what to do when they didn't feel the same way. some people get rejected and eventually move on by falling for someone else nd that's completely fine but I don't think I can just decide to replace these feelings with someone else. I can't think "She doesn't feel the same, so I'll find someone else." That's not how it works for me. I don't want to use another person as a way to forget what I felt for her.

I still have feelings for her right now. But that doesn't mean I'm waiting for her to change her mind. I accept that she only sees me as a friend and I'm not expecting anything from her. I just don't think I can make my feelings disappear because she doesn't feel the same way. At the same time, I'm glad I told her. At least now I know how she feels instead of wondering what would've happened if I had never said anything.

Btw now I'm stuck wondering what happens to the friendship. Did I rush things and make the friendship awkward by confessing? I don't know. I still have around 3.5 years left in college, so I'll obviously have to see her regularly. That's the part I'm most nervous about. I don't want to avoid her or suddenly act completely different but I also don't know how I'm supposed to behave after telling someone something that personal and then hearing that they only see me as a friend. I've never dealt with anything like this before. Right now I'm glad that I finally said it but I'm also genuinely scared about seeing her again and whether things will ever feel normal between us. For anyone who's been in a similar situation, were you able to stay friends afterward? Did things eventually become normal again, or did the friendship change after the confession?

Am I being delusional or is there actually a chance?

I'm a physiotherapy student, about to complete my 1st year on Aug 20. Let me come to the point. I'm a pretty introverted person. I've never really talked to girls much in real life. During school, I never had a crush or loved anyone, so I have no experience with any of this. On April 20 during lunch time, I had my first interaction with her. I didn't bring lunch that day, so she asked whether I'd eaten and gave me a chocolate. At first, I thought she was just being nice. But as the days went by, I realized it wasn't just that. Somehow she slowly became the person I thought about the most. While going to college, while coming back home, before sleeping. somehow my mind always ends up thinking about her. I never knew what it felt like to think about one person every single day. Somewhere along the way, I think that turned into love.

She's from Kerala and she's Muslim nd I'm Hindu. I close with a few Malayali boys in my class, so I casually asked them whether she was single. They said yes. I was following her on LinkedIn and I usually liked the posts she posts usually. Wn I asked those boys if she was single, after 2 days she sent me friend request on Snapchat. We didn't start chatting immediately. Later she sent me a Snap, I saved it, and somehow we started talking. One day she asked whether I'd ever been in a relationship before. I gave a pretty cringe answer, and she replied, "Relationships are fake actually." I honestly didn't know what to say after that. I was randomly talking about my college. I told her my cutoff was 180 and that if I'd scored one more mark, I probably would've joined another college. She replied, "Huh... but then you'd miss me 😜 I had absolutely no idea what to reply, so I just said Huhh 🫡. Another time she told me, "I'm not the type who flirts or talks sweetly with guys. That made me even more confused. I really don't know whether she's just being friendly or if there's something more. Sometimes I feel like I'd be the right person for her because I genuinely care about her. Other times I feel like maybe she deserves someone better than me. Another thing that's been on my mind is that we're from different religions. She's Muslim and I'm Hindu. Personally, I don't have any issue with that at all. But I sometimes wonder if it could matter to her. I'm not assuming she thinks that way, but there's always that small fear in my mind that if I confess, she might say we're from different religions and it wouldn't work. Maybe I'm just overthinking it, but it's something I've been worried about. I have plan of confessing my feelings during the first year holidays.

I just wanted honest opinions.

Does it sound like she's only being friendly?

Should I confess during the holidays or should I just keep it to myself?

And based on everything I wrote, what would you do if you were in my situation?

Is this what burnout, loneliness, or just growing up feels like?

I'm 18 and currently pursuing BPT.

I've been feeling stuck. College takes up almost my entire day with classes, records, assignments and exams. Even with all that, I don't feel like I'm improving academically and mentally I just feel exhausted.

I've always been an introvert. During school, I never really interacted with girls and even now I find it difficult to start conversations or build friendships. It's not that I don't want to-I just don't know how. Everyone around me have their own circles, while I often feel like I'm just there, existing in the background.

Sometimes I look around and see people making memories, hanging out, getting into relationships and living what seems like a normal college life. Of course, I'd like to experience love someday too, but not just for the sake of saying I'm in a relationship. I'd rather wait for something genuine than force a connection because everyone else is doing it.

What I really want isn't just a relationship. I want meaningful friendships, people I can genuinely connect with, conversations that don't feel forced, and to feel like I belong somewhere.

Lately, I can't tell if I'm burned out, lonely, socially awkward, or just growing up and trying to figure life out. Some days it feels like everyone else received a manual for life that I somehow missed.

Has anyone else gone through this phase? Did things eventually get better? I'd really like to hear from people who've felt this way.
