Binoculars for older person, 500 € max

Hi everyone,

I'd like to buy some binoculars as a gift for an older person and since I know nothing about it, it would be great to get some recommenations.
It will basically be used for watching birds, wildlife, landscapes. Sitting down, no hunting.
It's for an an older man, wearing glasses, not tech-savvy.
Maximum cost should be around 500 €.

Thanks for any suggestions you might have!

Reading newspapers on e-ink devices quite disappointing

Hi eceryone,

I just got a Boox Go 10.3 Gen2 Lumi for an older person, hoping he would be able to read newspapers. So far the experience is not good. We have tried pressreader and while it might be ok for younger folks it's much too complicated navigating it, maximum font size in reading mode is still too small. It's just not an easy and intuitive experience.

I would have thought that reading newspapers on eink-devices is a good, unproblematic experience by now, but I can't seem to find a good way.
I wish there were more epub-versions of newspapers available.

Any tipps on how he can read nespapers with simple navigation and big font size?

Thank you!

Simple calendar app for older person?

Hi everyone,

I'm setting up a new Boox Go 10.3 Lumi for an older man and I'm trying to find the most simple handwritten calendar app that will synch with iphone.

Basically I want him to be able to handwrite into his calendar (which one?) on boox and the entry should appear in the same (or other?) calendar app on his iphone either as handwriting or convertetd to typed text.
Also it would be great if he could type calendar events on his iphone which will appear on the Boox device.

I like the preinstalled Boox calendar memo app, which is very simple. But I don't know if the synching with iphone can be done.
We tried google calendar (without handwriting), but the user interface is not clear enough for him, it's too many options, too cluttered to quickly just write down something like "doctors appointment".

I was thinking about Microsoft OneNote or even just calendar pdf, but I don't know much about it myself.

Thank you for any suggestions you might have!

Which apps to install on Boox 10.3 ?

Hi everyone,

I'm new to eReaders and just bought a Boox 10.3 Gen2 Lumi.
My main use will be reading ebooks (epubs), newspapers, magazines.
Also web-browsing and calendar. Just a little bit of note-taking.

As a newbie, I was wondering which apps you can recommend:

- Browser ("reading view" would be nice, even as standard setting)
- Reading app for ebooks? (I don't have any ebooks yet)
- Where would you buy most ebooks from?
- App for reading epaper-newspapers (pdf)
- Which calendar app?

Also any other tipps for setting up the device (for my use cases) will be much appreciated.
Thank you!

Wer installiert mir Gardena-Bewässerungssystem?

Hallo zusammen,

How to quickly measure daily tincture doses?

Hi everyone,

just a quick practical question:
So far I've been taking 30 drops per herbal tincture, 8 tinctures total, 4x per day.
When preparing the mixture, I would count every single drop, which takes quite some time...

What is a better way to quickly measure the 30 drops?
Use a measuring cup (with tiny increments) or a very small dosing syringe, and measure in milliliters?

Thanks for your help with this!

Reading pdfs on Inkpad One

Hello everyone,

I just bought an Inkpad One and I'm trying to find the best way to read epapers (newspapers as pdfs).
My first attempt is not going so well: Overall terrible formatting. And on many pages of the pdf, no matter where I click on the screen, it will open the browser (which I don't want).

I tried to install KoReader in hope for a better expereience, just to find out that it cannot be installed.

How can I get the best experience reading pdfs (especially daily newspapers as epapers) on this device?

Thank you for your help!

Reading news websites on boox as an older person?

Hi everyone,

I'm thinking about getting a boox for an older friend, who likes reading newspapers, news websites, magazines. So far he's only read physical newspapers and news on his much too small iphone.

So my question is:
Can you comfortably read news websites and newspapers on a boox? Especially increase font size without losing formatting?
How exactly is the best way to read?
I know there are browsers/addons that automatically try to show all websites in reader's mode. Would that be a good option?

And which exact boox device would you choose, it should be around 10 inches screen size.

Thank you!

Reading newspapers on eReader?

Hi eveyone,

what is the est way for an older person to comfortably read various newspapers on an eReader like pocketbook? He has a 7.8" Inkpad 4 and a 10.3" Inkpad One.

Which format is best?
How about things like Calibre, pressreader, etc. which I know nothing about?
It would be great to have a well formated daily newspaper, that is easy to navigate and in which fontsize can be increased without losing formatting.

Thank you!
