WHY is this happening?

It only happens with two tubi... the screen will freeze and I'll get this splash screen looking thing and there's nothing I can do.

I hit the home button and it will not go off of this screen, I can unplug the Roku (power and hdmi and plug it back in and it won't go off of this.

I have to turn the power off to everything in that corner for it to reset.

I've only recently started using Tubi and I've had this television and Roku for years never had a problem. Does anybody know what might be causing this and how to fix it?

Didn't get "Ghosted" today, it still stung...

I 100% prefer to be rejected rather then ghosted but I'm not going to lie, it still stings. I sent an email back to the individuals I interviewed with and thanked them for letting me know, wished them luck finding the right fit & crossed them off the list :)

I have several more late stage interviews scheduled but it's something you have to intentionally shake off in order to go into your next one feeling confident.

You're dammed if you do and dammed if you don't.

To be is playing episodes out of sync is it just me?

I use tubi on Roku. I'm watching the show called The First 48 hours...

I started with season 1 episode 1 sometimes in the middle of an episode it will just go to the "next" episode but then when I try to go back to finish one it's not the episode I just watched!

I have no idea what episode was just playing. Does anybody else have this experience I'm so confused right now.

Honestly interview once a full 40 minute presentation with 5 days notice and a busy schedule. 🤨

Like this title says, I have a crazy busy schedule for the next couple of days, I got a notice today with the itinerary for this on-site job interview that I have next week and they want me to create a whole case presentation that's approximately 40 minutes long!

I don't know if I should tell them that I just won't have it in me to do that or if I should try to do the best I can.... which of course won't be overly impressive. I don't know what to do I'm incredibly stressed out now.

I've decided I'm done engaging compulsory activities on Facebook. anyone else?

So, y'all know how they'll stop you in the middle of a video and make you watch an ad?

Im done with that... I just scroll to the next thing, I refuse to get so engaged that I'm forced to watch and ad just to finish watching a video.

I've also decided that when I am watching reels and it comes up with one of those are you watching prompts that you're only choices are to say continue or back. I just started closing the app. I refuse to acknowledge their compulsory interaction. Obviously, yes I am still watching, I just scrolled to the next fucking video!

I literally hate Facebook now and if it wasn't the only way I keep in contact with my family I would have dumped it a decade ago.

I accepted an on-site interview but I forgot to ask how much they pay 😏

So wondering if anybody has advice on how I can slip in a question about pay range or salary after I've already accepted an on-site interview.

I don't want them to think I'm second-guessing the interview but the area where the potential job is has a lower cost of living and I'm genuinely curious as to how that reflects in salary. Information I find online suggest that there's essentially no difference in the salary so I'm assuming that's probably not accurate.

Anybody have any creative and thoughtful ways to say oh yeah I forgot to ask what do you pay?

ABPP checklist?

I'm in the process of preparing to apply for board certification I meet all of the basic general requirements and there's a couple specialties that I'm looking at but I don't meet requirements for some yet.

I'm finding it really difficult to follow along with the process there's so many differences in the steps based on specialty boards.

I'm wondering if anybody has already created a spreadsheet or checklist that includes the requirements for the speciality boards so I can go through check off what I already have and what would be needed and then I can narrow down what board to focus on.

I'm about to make one myself which I'll be happy to share but I was wondering if anybody else had already done this and was willing to share.

If it matters any I am eating disorder psychologist and my focus is working in hospital settings with a primary focus on children and adolescents so the specialties I'm considering are:

Clinical Psyc

Pediatric Clinical psych

Health psych

Invited for onsite visit... What to expect?

I'm a Dr. (specialist) I was invited for an onsite immediately upon applying (this job is about 1.5k miles away and will require Relo). I requested a virtual discussion prior to agreeing to travel because lets face it... Travel sucks right now.

Anyway, I had that meeting yesterday & really liked what I heard. I was told someone from HR will be reaching out to arrange travel. At this point I feel pretty positive, I should get an offer unless I mess it up.

This is my first time ever doing this so I have a few questions if any of you know.

  1. What should I expect them to cover as far as the visit? I expect airfare, hotel & transport.. Anything else?
    • Also for airfare, will they allow me business class? I never fly coach and I would be willing to pay the difference just to avoid the madness or steerage.
    • Would it be frowned upon if I brought someone along (for the trip, not the interview, we of course would cover the travel costs). I ask because it would be nice to have my SO there to explore the area and scout for possible places to live while I'm occupied with interviews since he's going to be relocating as well.
  2. What should I expect from the interview itself?
    • Are these full days? multiple days?
    • Is there anything I should bring other then comfortable shoes?
    • Is an offer usually made at the conclusion?

Any info you guys can offer, it would be greatly appreciated.

PEOPLE STOP CRYING ABOUT BEING GHOSTED!

I'm talking about all you out there whining because you didn't get a response to a submitted application.

That's not what being ghosted is!

Being ghosted means you had actual interviews and then you hear nothing back .

Simply submitting an application like hundreds or even maybe thousands of other people does not entitle you to a response.

Ghosting requires an established relationship!

Get that through your heads now and life will become a lot easier.

Does anyone know how long APA Grad programs are required to maintain training records?

I recently tried to update my ASPPB credentials bank because I'm looking for work which may require me to move states and portability can help the process Plus I wanted to start working towards board certification.

The original training director at my training site passed away and the current training director was out of the office for several weeks so I requested my grad program APA approved) to "attest" for my internship hours (APA internship) they refused, said they no longer have the training records (I graduated in 2014).

When in school we were always told the school would verify for licensing ect. Online I'm getting conflicting returns, some say 10 years others say "indefinite".

I was able to get it sorted via the internship director but it took nearly a month and left me concerned because we were never told that verifications were time limited, or that the records would be discarded. I feel students should have been notified with an option to obtain the records.

Here's the thing, clearly I wouldn't have graduated had I not successfully completed my internship and while my problem (personally) has been resolved, I can't help but think this may be problematic for others.

Does anyone know the specifics on APA required training document retention? Is this something I should bring to the attention of the COA?

Thanks in advance

Got everything verified/completed ASPPB credentials bank now what?

I don't yet qualify for CPQ (don't have 5yrs post license), does ASPPB have a credential that I can use to indicate that I have portability similar to National Register HSP? I'm not seeing anything on the website other then maybe IPC? Any info you can offer is greatly appreciated.

Does anyone have experience with Novo Nordisk PAP?

I'm 50yo F, going through menopausal weight gain, nothing I do works. I'm on my Rowing machine 5 days a week and eating low carb... belly fat wont budge. I've put on 30+ pounds in the last 5 years.

I'm currently unemployed (after a long illness) and looking for a job. I noticed yesterday that only ONE pair of my work pant still fit. I honestly can't afford to replace a professional wardrobe right now. I believe I qualify for Novo Nordisk PAP based on income but I also have medicare (not medicaid and no "extra help"/SSI)

The info online is confusing some places it says Medicare people are excluded other places it says there not. Calling them is an endless loop.

To add to the confusion it looks like Novo Nordisk PAP no longer offers Wegovy but does still offer Ozempic (which if i understand correctly is for diabetes not weight loss). So I have the following questions... if my Dr. submits an application for Ozempic

  1. Will Novo Nordisk PAP cover it
  2. Does medicare preclude me from using PAP (I do qualify income wise, I get too much for medicaid or extra help but still below poverty line significantly)

Has anyone with medicare had success getting a GLP1 via patient assistance (even if it's a different one?) I don't want to waste my doctors time.

I appreciate any info you guys can offer.

If there is any advice I can offer to current graduate students it would be this.

keep copies of all your documentation!

I mean hours logs, evaluations any state documentation required for your practicum, internship, contracts and any hour breakdowns that you have...

Keep it all!

Keep a record of everything that is signed including your time to track logs.

I just went through this whole nightmare process trying to get my pre-doctoral internship (which was APA accredited) to sign off an attestation for ASPPB credentials bank.

It took nearly a month of daily contact going back and forth because it had been 12 years and my old supervisor passed away. The program was absorbed into another and documents were destroyed without notice 😳.

Luckily I had copies of the documents and was able to send them to the internship but even in that it sstill was incredibly stressful. My school also apparently purged the documents after 10 years. We were always told that we would be able to get verification.

My school flat out refused to provide verification despite the fact of acknowledging that I had the documentation to provide to them and that I wouldn't have graduated had I not finished my pre-doctoral internship successfully.

I also had a APA accredited postdoctoral Fellowship and it was a lot easier to get that document signed because the supervisor was still there but not simple... took alot I'll follow through. If you get them to sign off when you graduate you'll save yourself a lot of headaches.

I tell you guys this now because when you're in that final internship you're focusing on defending your dissertation and applying/possibly relocation for a postdoc. The very last thing you're thinking about is documentation that you may need 10 years down the road.

My school did a shit job of informing us of what we would need. The problem is you can't count on them so you have to do it for yourself I would highly suggest credential banking with ASPPB/National Register (or better do because neither of them are accepted in all states). You can add your credentials at any time, once they're in and verified you can use that towards licensing in any state.

So basically when you do go to apply for your license you can just send them the documents from the credential bank and you don't have to contact every site for verification each time.

I hope this helps at least one of y'all. I wish I had been more aware of this when I was graduating.

What's with all the Facebook accounts with less than 100 friends? Anyone else noticing this?

I have been on Facebook for 20 years, I have never seen accounts with less than 100 people let alone some that are a dozen or so.

I can't tell are these all bots because it always seems to be the people that are making the most controversial statements (which is why I usually look to see how many friends they have) I've concluded that they're either a bot or nobody likes them for the stupid shit they say. Are y'all noticing this?

Absolutely mortified

Update: so I had the interview today I immediately apologized acknowledged that it impacted her time and moved on, she was understanding and said these things happen.

The interview went okay, she did bring up some legitimate concerns about my readiness for the role. I hope I overcame them but who knows. I did send a follow-up email I'll update you guys when I know more!

Original Post: Well, I really screwed up today. I had a big interview that I was really excited about I spent hours preparing for made it. made sure I had the right background and lighting, got dressed, did hair and makeup the whole works.... Then I showed up a half an hour late 🤦

I totally owned it, it was totally my fault I was reading the zoom link in the subject line that said 3 to 3:30 and for some reason the 3:30 is what stood out to me and I put it in my calendar wrong. 🤷

This is an Ivy League job at a teaching hospital and while the woman was gracious and we did reschedule for tomorrow I can't help but feel I blew it and it's going to be difficult to feel confident tomorrow. 😭

Which background would you use?

Things to know,

  • I have an interview with an ivy league medical ctr. (I'm a Dr.)
  • The person I'm interviewing with values "authenticity" (also is an academic) for this reason, I'm not using a fake background, they look like trash & it's just not going to happen. It's not one of the two choices, please don't try to convince me :) She knows I'm interviewing from home, it is what it is.

So I have these two backgrounds, one is in my living room, shows the fireplace with some photos (also the couch and possibly a dog (or cat), it's not something I can do anything about, if I lock them in a room they'll just yell and scratch the door which would be worse).

The second one is in my dining room, shows my bookshelf with all my professional books (but also a weird unused door behind the (not so pretty shelves).

What one would be best? Thanks in advance, and wish me luck (please)

Should I take my dog in for a new titer?

Last summer my 6yo westie was diagnosed with lyme disease anaplasmosis and Ehrlichiosis all at the same time.

Apparently the Lyme titer was bright red while the other two were pink, he was put on a full round of antibiotics and he was given them as prescribed.

His vet hasn't followed up or given any follow-up instructions. I've noticed recently that he seems to be a little "off ", just looking occasionally uncomfortable especially when walking longer distances and seems to be a little bit lower in energy than I'd expect from him.

We've since changed veterinarians and the new one hasn't seen him yet so I can't really ask him to advise if I should bring the dog in for a new titer without him having seen him first.

Is it possible that lyme can reoccur or not be cured? Are there possible long-term consequences that even if treated could still be a problem?

Should I take him in to get tested again to make sure it's fully resolved?

Tia
