Is PA right for me?

Looking to mainly hear from experienced PAs but this post got removed from the PA sub because i guess the question is technically pre-PA.

Hey all, I am a 28 year old RN with 5-6 years of experience. For a little over a year now I've been part of a vascular access nurse team and I fell in love withe the procedural process of placing PICC lines. I wouldn't entertain going back to school unless I had a clear goal of what I wanted out of furthering my education, and since I'm realizing I love procedural practice and excel at it I wanted to ask the group; is it too narrow minded to puruse PA-C with the main/only goal of working in IR? I also would love to hear other procedure adjacent specialties PA's actually find jobs in. Going to work every day to place ports and tunneled lines plus doing thora/paracentesis sounds pretty dreamy.

Another question I have is about PA pay. I know this changes with location, much like RN pay. I live in Tacoma, WA and our hospital has a strong union where nurses are paid well, for reference my base is around $57/hr before my evening shift and BSN differentials and that hourly rate goes up yearly with the union scale. How much does years in the profession increase your compensation in the PA world? Finances are not the main driver of the decision to go back to school but lets be real, the schooling is not cheap and the increased responsibility and stress of my career has to be worth it too.

Thanks everyone!

Chrome rims, yay or nay?

Painted my stem and cleaned my bike since I can’t ride but want to do bike stuff. Friend gave me these eclat e440 rims last year when he bet I wouldn’t grow a mustache for 3 months (I have terrible facial hair genes. Looked heinous). Can’t decide if I want to go through the struggle of lacing them up, ton of work to build/true wheels just to not like the way they look. Thoughts?

I guess since I used the “bike check” flair I have to post a parts list and I’m bored so here we go:

20.75” WTP pathfinder
9.6”(?) WTP pathfinder bars
Random kink grips they had at the shop and are actually super good??
Mandatory Odyssey Par ends
Primo (🤢) Aleppo stem (48mm reach)
Odyssey headset
Sunday dark wave forks (28mm offset I think?)
Odyssey vandero pro hub/hazard lite rim
Eclat mirage folding tires 2.3
Eclat tibia cranks 165mm
Animal Hamilton pedals
Sunday seeley pegs 4.5”
Odyssey 25T removable guard sprocket idk the name
Odyssey half link
Odyssey seat post
Eclat bios pivotal seat, mid
Odyssey clutch v1 / hazard lite rim
Aliexpress super light tubes
Cinema drive side guard

55 PSI front and back

Reposting my favorite IG edit from last year since I deactivated my socials in January and can’t ride right now.

Bad run of injury’s since last fall (avid snowboarder), finally back in the gym getting stronger. Looking forward to getting back on my bike in a couple months. Miss this shit so much.

Used this cymbal cleaner on HHX complex’s cymbals and getting this residue after? Am I fucking up?

Update: in the fine print it says only for brilliant cymbals. :/

First time doing a project like this. Graded the dirt under away from the house so hopefully it drains well. Lot of little mistakes but nothing catastrophic, overall really satisfied with how it came out! Total cost around $600

EDIT: between the comments on this thread that actually have substantial backing and a conversation with my home inspector, I’m gonna de-mulch and pull the plants Monday, remove fertilizer, the remove about 2-4 inches of the soil underneath to give the concrete and house siding some breathing room. It sucks to have to undo so much work, but hopefully it will mitigate the inherent risk of not allowing the concrete to breath. Thanks everyone who offered constructive input.
