Random objects out of Place - This fridge caught my eye one day as I was walking home from the store. It's in a back alleyway, behind a few business that are local to me.
Originally it had a beer can on top of it, which would have added a little bit more character, but it must have blown away.

I was drawn to this because of its complete randomness. It's out of place and unexpected. The fridge has served its purpose in the world and has clearly been discarded. But I can give it one last purpose for my photo, and it's now forever preserved, scanned and also embedded onto a piece of film.

Captured with my Chamonix 45F2 on HP5+ , pushed two stops in development

Would this be enough to attempt making my own wallet?(beginner)

Just talking about tools!

I am honestly not sure what type of leather or how thick(1.2mm)?

I am looking to make myself a front flap wallet that has a pocket on the inside and a strap to keep the flap tucked away. I guess it’s a basic design, but I want to try my hand at this first instead of buying one! I’m always looking for new hobbies to feed my adhd anyway.

I am a total beginner fyi!

Edit: I just want to add that I already have multiple heavy duty mats, and other basic things like that. My gf does sewing, so she has a lot of little tools and basics that seem to cross over to leather as well.

Provia 4x5 - Jersey

I’ll keep this short, but I home develop my film.

I haven’t gotten a great grasp on how well e6 chemistry holds up over time. So my last time out I took two photos of the same scene. One was developed with old chemistry and another with new.

And, not news at all, the fresh chemistry made an absolute huge difference. The old chemistry was pushing 4 months, and also had a good few rounds of development. I started noticing what I thought was underdevelopment on the last batch. And it was underdeveloped. I definitely could have extended the dev time to compensate for the first developer, but the combination of 4 months time and also compensating for previous developed sheets/rolls would have been somewhat of a guessing game. I already had the compensation for my previous development sessions, and it was too short for the chemistry.

Just trying to get myself a baseline so I can start to notice things when home developing e6.

Aside from the very dark image, the next best indicator was the registration. It was much more orange, and darker. And it was a good indicator for understanding I’m the frame was underdeveloped, instead of underexposed.

I don’t have the previous image here, but a light table wasn’t even good enough to see the frame developed with the old chemistry. In post I could recover it somewhat. But it was very dark in the light table. And the same scene, same shutter speed and everything, taken just moments later came out way brighter. A light table wasn’t even more than enough to see everything.

Anyway, not news. New chemistry works better. Just more so testing for myself!

Sony TRV460 good camera?

Hi all, I may have gotten ahead of myself. But I purchase a a TRV460 for $200, working order and came with two batteries.

I wanted soemthing I could bring around to record my everyday life for myself and my family. I also wanted something I could use FireWire to transfer to my PC since I have a FireWire card already. I also want to be able to go back and watch/digitize tapes from my childhood. So I thought this would be the best option. But I’m not so sure honestly.

I also bought 3 Sony hi8/digital8 tapes.

Trying to justify my purchase, hoping I didn’t jump too far off here.

Fuji Provia 4x5 • Chamonix 45F2 • The Shore

Pretty basic! Not much movement. Viewing these on a light table is awesome.

Not sure I am satisfied with the final edit. It seems too purple right now. But I’ll sleep on it some and change it if I feel it needs it.

Ektar 100 - Chamonix 45F2 - 210mm & 120mm

I posted the second photos composition yesterday. However, that was with Provia, and it was developed in exhausted and old chemistry. I actually just got a new batch of e6 today, and I’ll make another post about it tomorrow. But I took three photos of the second composition. Two on provia(one sheet was to test my chemistry) and one on Ektar, which you see here. I’ll just do a little comparisons/break down of how much time, and how many sheets of film I got out of my e6 unicolor chemistry on tomorrow’s post. Also include my storage details with it. Just some more data to out there for everyone.

For now, here are these two scenes in Ektar 100, will have Provia coming tomorrow in the same exact compositions with my dev and chemistry details.

These are all home developed and scanned. Happy to answer any questions about it.

Provia 100F • Chamonix 45F2 • Super Angulon 120 f/8

Love coming here, right down the road from me and I can easily and quickly capture different conditions.

Unfortunately my developer has lost strength. It’s old. So I took two shots of this, and developed one to check if my solutions were still good. They aren’t, so I just ordered new e6 chem. I really had to push this in post, as it was too underdeveloped. It usually include the border, but just no saving it at this point. Will develop the other sheet soon!

Anyone know a fix for this? Flash sync port on M4P

Just fell out. Decided to take the cap off the other one so I don’t break that one as well.

Can’t remove stuck lock lug nut …

I’m double messed up now.

I tried an extractor socket and it didn’t work. It just completely went dull and was just spinning.

Then I tried to hammer on a regular socket. All that does is turn too. But now the fucking socket is stuck on. It turns in place but won’t come off. It must have been smoothed out and formed a key way where the locking nut sits inside the socket keyway just constantly spinning.

About to just start banging on the thing with the hammer, mostly to get out my frustration.

But I’m just completely messing myself in all different ways today.

Does the Maddox MR16 have EPB/service mode?

Hi all, just wondering if any of the Maddox OBDII tools have service mode/EPB retraction capability?

Which 90mm lens has the least amount of falloff?

Hi all, just wondering which lens I should go for in terms of 90mm light falloff. I used in the past and it had very significant falloff, it was a Angulon f/8. Hoping for soemthing faster this time with a larger imaging circle and less light falloff.

Primarily will be used on color reversal and color negative film.

Thanks!

This is for 4x5!

Should I get a dedicated spot meter? - overexposed my last shot

To break it down super quick, I was metering with my phone using the lightme app, shooting with Provia 100f. I also had a grey card. The scene was not dynamically difficult at all.

One shot was just incredibly overexposed, and the previous shots were a bit overexposed, although not totally gone and useable.

The shot was metered for 1 minute and 10 seconds, about 15 minutes past sunset.

The only explanation other than a bad reading I have is that I relied too heavily on my grey card. It was a foggy scene and I have a feeling the fog reflected more light than what I could get on my grey card. The scene was totally overexposed.

I don’t have the photo to post, but we’ll just say there was nearly no detail in the image at all. Essentially like 99% clear/foggy.

With that said. I’m wondering if I should move on from my phone app and get a light meter.

Just wondering what the heck happened here.

She is a 4 year old Pit Mix.

I do wanna think that she just exerted herself too much, but I haven’t seen this before from her.

We were on a walk, and mind you, she freaking go absolutely nuts the first 10 minutes of her walk. Pulling like crazy, being a nut.

She did that, her usual self. But then out of nowhere she looked tired.

It has been cold out here. I wanna say this week was mostly in the 40s/ low 50s, but just today it got warm and it’s in the low 80s. So I’m thinking that may have a play in it.

But we ended up turning around. Because it was enough to make me concerned.

On the way back, she was trying to stop in the shade it seemed liked. We did see a few dogs, she did her normal of getting excited. But seemed tired shortly after that.

She did eat treats, and I usually have a great eye on her. So I’m doubtful about her eating something. Unless she snagged a small rock.

Either way, right now her panting stopped. She’s laying down. She ate her dinner just now too.

Finally laying down and relaxing, instead of panting and being uncomfortable.

I’m not sure what else to give, other than it has been cool out, now suddenly hot. She may have overexerted herself. She was pulling like a mofo, more so than usual. And then about 10 minutes in she just wanted to quit. We walked back okay. Maybe semi lethargic, but mostly tired. She would eat treats still if I have them to her. And right now she’s okay and laying down. Ate dinner, drank water.

Alright, I’ve wanted to up and visit the ADK for a long time now.

Finally, we found the time and booked a hotel. I’m hearing about these black flies though, and I’m not trying to have my gf get eaten up when we are hiking. That’s the last thing I need, and she’ll never hike with me again then lol.

It looks like it gets bad…so now I am questioning going to the Adirondaks, and may save that for later in the summer.

But does it really get that bad? We aren’t going to the top of the peaks. But we are going to be hiking. Mostly around the Lake Placid area.

Would suck to have to change plans, but I know for sure my gf would be an unhappy camper if she was getting bit by flies..

We would be arriving for Memorial Day weekend.

Awesome news. Wonder if it will be any cheaper.

Unfortunately no Ektachrome…as of yet? Guess we’ll see. I’ve been waiting for it to come out!

In freaking out a bit here. I’ve been great for MONTHS and lost 26lbs and hit my goal weight. And now that I have hit it I am going to reduce it again, because I want to lose another 10-15 lbs.

Well this week alone has been pretty bad. I have at least been eating at maintenance, and for two days I have eaten over maintenance. And it’s starting to mentally hurt me. I’m slipping into a mental state where I am telling myself I am starting to lose my progress.

It’s like if the weight isn’t going down, then I must be going backwards. And it’s a challenge. It’s been a heck of a week for me. And in trying to maintain my normal deficit that I have for months. But every day there is something that breaks it, and I feel like food is starting to take its hold on me again.

A path I don’t want to go down. I have been working a bunch of double shifts and night shifts. Staying up for 24 hrs and it’s fucking my food schedule up, and now mentally I feel fucked up. Probably why it’s emotionally hurrying me right now.

I’m going to try and keep this short, but I’m a hiking large format film photographer.

I have a lot of gear and a 65L is pretty much the average pack size I need to carry all of my stuff. The photography gear alone takes up a ton of space.

I went to Sierra and they had a Deuter Aircontact 65+10. I purchased it, but I’m not sold after filling it with my gear.

I used to have a Deuter that I loved but unfortunately got rid of. I currently use an old Cotopaxi that I bought 10 years ago, and that wasn’t the best move. It was more uncomfortable than my old Deuter, but I had already made the change.

I wanted a newer Deuter and found it at Sierra so I was pumped. Got it for $140 - but it seems a bit disappointing. I may try to reorganize the weight.

It’s an older version, the previous generation. I wanted the new version for the pivoting hip flaps, but for $140 I figured I could deal without.

What is anyone else’s experience with this pack? Should I switch to the new version?

About 8 years ago I tried Osprey, but it was just so uncomfortable. I never found another pack as comfy as my older Deuter. Maybe the new one needs to break in?

I can return it, but only in original condition. So if I go use it then I am kind of screwed.

Any help is appreciated!

Edit: I do want to add that the main draw for the Deuter is front access. Being able to lay the bag down and open the zipper makes life so much easier for me when it’s time to put the bag down and start setting up for a shot.

Curious to see some review on it. Hopefully the film base is thick enough so it doesn’t cup or curl!
