Approval for Wake County Board of Education's 2026-2027 Proposed Budget

The proposal includes an increase of $25.3 million in local funding, as well as strategic spending reductions to balance the budget. It will be officially sent to the Wake County Board of Commissioners this week for consideration. A final county budget is expected to be approved on June 1

If Teachers don't have any more accumulated sick days or PTO, and need to take a day off, they must pay from their own paycheck to cover a substitute teacher.
