If you want CAHSR to be a reality, then you should email the Appropriations Committee before the end of August
Senate Bill 1425 is currently with the Assembly Appropriations Committee. It "would create an encroachment permit program allowing the authority to approve and regulate certain work on its operating right-of-way".
3rd party delays have run up the cost by billions due to inflation and pushed back completion by years. Encroachment Permitting Authority is one of the things the CAHSR Authority has repeatedly asked for from the legislature to help reduce 3rd party delays (mostly from utilities).
But the Legislature session ends on August 31. If the bill doesn't get advanced out of committee before that time, then the bill dies.
Here's the email for the assembly appropriations committee:
approps.committee@assembly.ca.gov
The article at the top shows the utility lobby is already pushing to kill this bill, just like they did with SB 445. If we want to see this project get finished, we need to fight for legislation like SB 1425. Email the appropriations committee and tell them to advance SB 1425 to the full legislature. Tell them we need to stop wasting time and billions of dollars with unnecessary delays.
With WeHo's approval for a La Cienega Bus Lane, when will LA city council vote on it?
On July 20th, WeHo City Council approved a regional plan to extend bus-only lanes between Santa Monica Boulevard and Jefferson Boulevard.
Has there been any word on when LA City council will vote on this? Even if Beverly Hills rejects it, getting bus lanes on the majority LA / WeHo segment will be a huge help.
Steph Was The Most Efficient Scoring Champ TWICE
As far back as BBREF lists an eFG% (1971), the 3 most efficient scoring champs by eFG%:
- Steph 2016, 63.0%, 30.1 PPG
- Steph 2021, 60.5%, 32.0 PPG
- Shaq 1995, 58.3%, 29.3 PPG
Proper way to pack a hat for long plane trips?
I got this packable hat to travel with. There's no folding instructions, but the website has a picture that looks like the hat is flattened and then folded in half. But I'm still nervous that it won't properly return to its shape after being folded for an extended period.
Does anyone have experience with packable hats like this? Do you fold it like the picture or pack it a different way?
[Spoilers C4E31] Important info that I didn't catch any of the players relaying to the rest
Maybe I missed something else, but it seemed really important that Primus said something to the effect of "It doesn't matter that I killed [Hannan], because by the end of the year either we are on top or we're all dead!"
I'm not sure how far away the end of the year is, but this seems to establish an important timetable for something critical happening. That critical event could be the other houses making their own plays for the old throne, or something else. Primus called out each house for having their own machinations during his speech, but I don't believe we knew when each house would make their move until Primus killed Hannan.
Since this timetable seems like important information, I was surprised no one mentioned it when they all regrouped. Am I missing something? Did the players already know something big enough to destroy house Tachonis was going to happen by the end of the year? Side note, I also don't think anyone relayed what the other houses machinations were.
Do they make 3" or 3.5" Brim Packer Hats?
I'm looking for a packer hat like this one from Henschel, but I keep finding packer hats with 2.5" brims. Do they make packer hats with a 3" or 3.5" brim? I'd prefer a 3.5" but might settle for a 3" if I can't find one.
New Month, New LAX APM Opening Date
The new PSA date (Passenger Service Availability date) is October 6th, 2026. Quick refresher, LINXS has pushed back the PSA date almost every month since last year.
- May 2026, they claimed opening October 6th, 2026
- April 2026, they claimed opening September 22nd, 2026
- March 2026, they claimed opening September 22nd, 2026
- February 2026, they claimed opening August 3rd, 2026
- January 2026, they claimed opening June 9th, 2026
- December 2025, they claimed opening May 13th, 2026
- November 2025, they claimed opening May 4th, 2026
- October 2025, they claimed opening May 4th, 2026
The current System Demonstration (30 day test) is projected to be completed August 5, 2026. Although their last report said June 30th, so who knows, maybe this'll be another completion date that they'll continue to push back until 2028.
For those not in the know about the ongoing disputes between LAWA and LINXS, it starts on page 549 of the grand jury report.
Quick summary: According to the grand jury report, LINXS has been abusing 2 things to extort LAWA for money.
First: The contract had a weakspot. It specified that work had to continue during disputes, but it did not specify the pace at which work had to continue. As the grand jury found, if the contractor just sent out one guy with a shovel, that satisfied the contracts requirements of work continuing during disputes.
Second: The contractor used these work stoppages to imperil the Olympics deadline, forcing LAWA to pay additional costs via bs relief event charges. Normally LAWA would've been able to sue to reduce the charges or drop them altogether. But since that litigation, plus the work stoppages, would've pushed the opening past the Olympics, they had no choice but to pay them.

youtu.beStetson vs Thursday Boots | Looking for Suede Trucker Jacket advice
I'm between this Thursday Boots jacket: Dusty color and this brown Stetson jacket. Both are about the same price. How do you think they compare in terms of quality and sizing? I typically wear slim. How true to the photos is the color?
New LAX APM Monthly Report has finally dropped. Good News and Bad News.
Good News: For the first time since November 2025, they have not pushed back their projected Passenger Service Availability (PSA) Date. They're still projecting September 22nd.
Bad News: Looking at the Executive Summary, they're still loudly claiming that LAWA is preventing them from finishing, and that they're contractually unable to start PSA until they've finished everything, including...landscaping. LAWA has already said this is bs, and they don't need landscaping to be finished for PSA to begin.
Edit: They're also expecting the System Demonstration Test to be completed June 30th.
I was inspired by a question on another sub, so I narrowed the scope to something more realistic. Is there a single season in the 90's or 2000's where Steph could have more makes in his career than the entire league at that time?
I went to BBREF and found that 1990 had the lowest average 3PM's per game out of those 2 decades. Then I went to the 1990 page, copied the Total Stats table into a Numbers sheet, and added up the 3PM's for each team.
The total Regular Season 3PM's for the league (27 teams) in 1990 was 4,829. Stephs current Regular Season 3PM's for his career is 4,248. Over his last 6 years he's made between 190 and 360 3PM's each year. So he'd need to play 2 or 3 more seasons at that pace to beat the 1990 league.
Edit: Found something else crazy. The 1990 NBA attempted 14,608 3's. Steph has attempted 10,073. 4,535 fewer attempts (about 31.04%), but only 581 fewer makes (about 12.04%). Wild.
