Dating group for Mumbai!

This is a follow up from my post yesterday and things are gearing up!

Sapphic women in Mumbai please dm me if you’re like to attend meet ups and meet to date people or even have a community.

How I will be going about - verifying that you’re a sapphic woman on telegram (just to catch cis men trying to catfish) and a group there, depending on the people we will set up a meet-up in the coming days. I do not want to make any profit or anything off this, you do not have to pay anything.

Please dm me with a short info, I will not be responding to a ‘Hi’ and be willing to verify with pictures.

Some rules were going to follow

  1. Above

18

  1. No discriminatory behaviour allowed.
  2. Please talk and engage with people on the group or else I will be removing you, we want an active group.

Is this too loose/holey?

I’m making a sweater with some chunky yarn and the pattern says 11x16 as gauge on 9mm needles. It’s my first time making a sweater with a bigger yarn as I’ve only knitted things with DK yarn. I’m used to crocheting with this weight yarn and it’s never seemed so holey and I can’t seem to match the gauge too, the sts are less and the rows are more 😭

Any advice?

Why are we not calling our purity culture and labelling it as a preference?

Purity culture isn’t just people having opinions about sex, it’s control of women’s reproductive autonomy.

That fact that this is prevalent in men and women in society is what baffles me. Moreover when you ask someone not to be judgemental the first reply is “so you want to engage in casual hookups, have body count in 100s and not form a bond”. Which is an argument that doesn’t make sense at all?? My concern lies with the fact that women’s value is based on virginity.

Why are we not challenging that valuing virginity is a morally or socially neutral preference if the other partner is a virgin? When the concept of virginity itself comes from a system that assigns different value to women's bodies according to their sexual history. No such value to men’s bodies. We need to ask why virginity is being valued in the first place.

The problem lies deeper than that, purity culture doesn’t focus on just virginity but rather it becomes a social mechanism for controlling women’s bodies, health and choices. You cannot discuss menstrual cycles openly because it’s a topic that makes people uncomfortable, sex ed isn’t important which has an impact on sexual health of everyone because of the stigma. Things are changing yes, but look how much of India still doesn’t discuss these things, and women’s lack of ability to ask these question. Sexuality and its expression being stigmatised has a much bigger impact on women’s health that we even consider, when women also support the premise ‘a virgin is allowed to ask for a virgin’. It treats human relations as a transactional trade based on virginity instead of a connection that should be based on compatibility, emotional connection and character. Matching a trait doesn’t mean your demand is ‘fair’, in fact you may be missing out on someone who you could actually be compatible with.

When sexuality is stigmatised women cannot ask question or speak openly, information is hard to obtain unless you look at government websites or old websites and with AI and so many content creators spreading fake information this is only going to get worse, this causes healthcare and contraception harder to access and less informed choices for EVERYONE, but women face the brunt of it. The social system then judges women based on this and controls women further.

We need Seema aunty but for wlw

/j

the misogyny and patriarchal mindset is appalling, but having a irl matchmaker who is friends with people and then sets up their friends who are compatible? Amazing

Imo safer than being on apps, it’s people who you know and it’s assuring to know it’s someone familiar.

Joined Sapphi and so disappointed

I joined Sapphi which is the supposed to be the new wlw Grindr and it was so disappointing, nobody on my feed writhing 2500 km and I’m in Mumbai!

What I did like about it is the vetting process, but even then I saw cis men on there. It’s a space for lesbian, queer and trans communities and still cis men want to come there. I just want something for queer women that is like Grindr!!

Let me confirm, we’re all yearning right?

I just want someone to kiss, cuddle and go to coffee shops with :(( why is it so tough to find that.

When on bumble it’s either unicorn hunters or people not interested in dating.

I joined Sappi and nobody showed up who is within my location.

IRL events I end up making friends more than anything.

(I have curly hair btw)

How has your experience been on dating apps?

Hey all :)

Saw women talking about how there should be a lesbian Grindr and thought of how disproportionately men are there on lesbian dating apps.

I wanted to ask what your experience on dating apps has been? My experience on HER between London and Mumbai is so different, Mumbai has way more men and unicorn hunters, it’s very irritating because you talk to someone and she later mentions she wants to have a threesome with her boyfriend, which is something I am not okay with.

On bumble I get matches with women too but men pop up there too, which is confusing to me because what are they hoping to achieve? Men swiping on them?

Biphobia experience brushed aside to get to know my sexuality?

I’ve been talking to a woman living in a different city for the past few weeks, and definitely interested in her. I’m bi and she’s a lesbian, this is important to the context.

We were talking about something games and I said I returned one my ex-girlfriend gave me when we broke up. She asked why? I explained she made a very biphobic comment when we were breaking up to hurt me and it changed how I saw her as a person and didn’t want anything to do with it or her.

Instead of even acknowledging the biphobia she was first shocked I was bi? And asked me about my attraction for men, and if I have so many options unlike her, who is a lesbian. I said it’s the same for men and women but my dating history has mostly been women. She said she doesn’t remember me ever telling her I was bi. She then said I’m ‘sexually lesbian’ but ‘romantically straight’ then. I said no??? I don’t think of myself that way and I don’t think you should attach labels or decide for someone else, a bi person is just bi irrespective of how they feel attraction, and only they get to decide labels.

I’m sorry but how can someone brush aside someone’s experience about biphobia because they’re so caught up with someone’s identity, now I’m reconsidering the whole friendship, that was sort of moving towards something romantic.

Update - for anyone who cares haha. I expressed that I felt that she was dismissive of my experience and that she should have not automatically assumed about my options, however she didn’t mean to be biphobic and ‘was not in her opinion’, suffice to say I’m done with the relationship.

Hi everyone, any leads on this would be great, I have already contacted a few websites based in Mumbai, and am awaiting their responses meanwhile this is my list of criteria.

  1. I am making a custom game and would require printing on 150-160 cards. I have the designs - just need them printed and cut in playing card size.

  2. I want it in PVC for durability

  3. I would like to know different price ranges - I know customised items are more expensive so I do not have a budget
