After/before

Tough one. Taken on Minolta SRT 101 with Kodak Gold 200 or Minolta X-70 with Fujifilm 400 (gotta pick up the rolls at the lab to catalog them tomorrow).

Taken when I just started photograhy again recently and first rolls of film in a very long time.

Some shots around Gatineau/Ottawa in Canada

All taken on either Minolta SRT 101 or X-70, mostly Kodak Gold 200.

I have 2 more rolls that need develloping from the SRT101 and I will be switching to the X-700 I just got.

Mostly used Minolta MC Rokkor PF f1.4 or MD 28mm f2.

This is my first couple or rolls since 2000 or so.

Love my Minoltas.

After/Before film roll pics

First roll I got developped in 25 years, tif files, some LR editing, I hate all my photos generally compared to all the cool shit people put out, but secretly LOVE just DOING it.

First rolls in over 25 years

This is the first time I’ve used a SLR ever, only used point and shoots and Polaroids in my youth. And half of these were taken during my first month of getting back into photography after many years.

I absolutely love the look of film now that I got my first prints back and it’ll help me edit my digital shots taken with vintage lenses (or newer lenses) to get this look (closer to at least, when desired).

These are all unedited (no LR), some shots came out weird with some light issues, but there’s from the middle of the roll, so who knows what happened there, it’s not a huge deal and only affect 3-4 out of 72 shots. (Checked my light seals, they seem good, don’t remember accidentally opening the back of the camera either). If someone does have some insight, I’ll take it.

I’m just happy and wanted to share some shots I liked.

Thanks.

Using MD/MC Minolta lenses on R6ii

Hi, just wondering if anyone has used old lenses on the R6ii (or other mirrorless Canon cameras).

I did some tests just for fun with whatever colorful things I has lying around in the kitchen.

#1 is Minolta Rokkor 58mm f1.4
#2 is Canon EF 50mm f1.4

Both shot wide open, used almost the same settings (bumped exposure on the EF lens photo and slightly played with saturation).

Anyways, wondering if I keep the adaptor, or just shoot digital separately only (no vintage lenses on the Canon).

Frame lab question

Has anyone here used the Canon creator frame lab? I received a credit when I purchased the R6ii but can’t find it anywhere in my account and Canon has the worst customer service I have ever encountered (as in NO ANSWER to emails IF you can actually find a contact email).

Any helps would be greatly appreciated.

After/Before

Long exposure using Canon R6ii and EF 70-200mm f2.8L IS USM II.

I like how the colors on and around the docks came out.

Wish I has taken this on film.

Darker weirder look

As a musician, what comes out of me is on the darker grey side, could write pop songs but would have to ask someone else to sing/play them.

I think I am the same way with photography.

Long exposures with 70-200mm f2.8l

Messed around with the R6ii and the 70-200mm f2.8l IS USM ii and an ND1000 filter in the afternoon today and got this shot.

I just got this lens, love the colors and richness, but I have yet to get better at wildlife pics, so in the meantime, why not hit the lake and try stuff?

Worth getting bit by mosquitoes and flies?

Spent some time at a lake just before golden hour was over (9:10 pm, Quebec Canada), got bit so bad that I looked like I got implants in my temples and my wife thought I had a stroke the next morning because one of my eyes was drooping a little 😂

Have at it :)

Are borders back?

I have been seeing borders around a lot more photos recently, even on IG. Wondering if it’s just to keep your framing and cropping intact or people really dig the look.

And here’s a pic of my dog just because.
