Suggest a good cafe and a bakery for an outsider

I'll be in Allahabad next week and I was planning to try some cafe not for work or ambiance but just Good coffee and bakery. Read a few posts and get mixed reviews of THF. Please let me know your opinion about THF or anyother cafe you have in your mind. Also please suggest a good bakery for cinnamon rolls or at least a good pastry.

Ganga Maiya would bless you for your kind help ✌️

Pokhara through the eyes of an Indian who got racially trolled here but loved every bit of it 👇

I visited Pokhara a few days ago. Some of you might remember my post where I asked about accommodation and got a ton of racist remarks just for being Indian. So here's how the trip actually went.

My experience of Pokhara and Pokhrelis

Pokhara is honestly one of the most beautiful cities I've ever been to. The moment I landed, all my anxiety about being treated badly just... went away. Everyone was great throughout the trip. My hotel was family run and they genuinely made me feel welcomed.

I also visited the Pokhara Coffee Roastery after seeing it recommended here, and it might genuinely be the best cafe I've ever walked into. I tried a bunch of other cafes too and I'll be honest, Pokhara has dethroned Manali for me when it comes to coffee culture. I did not see that coming.

I did rafting in the Upper Seti and I cannot even put into words how much I loved it. I have acrophobia which is basically a fear of heights, but I still went ahead and did the cliff jump and honestly it was amazing. I will definitely do it again the next time I visit.

Now two things did bring the trip down a little. First, the weather was unpredictable and I couldn't do paragliding. The companies did ground flights but I don't think they did it with safety in mind. Sarangkot was also cloudy both days so I couldn't see the peaks. But even without them, the place was insanely beautiful on its own. I actually ended up loving the Damside area way more than Lakeside. It was quiet, relaxed, and felt like a real neighbourhood rather than a tourist zone. I skipped the usual crowded spots like Gupteshwar Mahadev, Devi's Fall, Peace Pagoda and the Shiva statue entirely. I'd rather just walk around where locals actually live and that's exactly what I did.

Second thing and yes I'm aware of how this sounds, there were Indians absolutely everywhere. I'm Indian myself but the number of Indian tourists in Pokhara was something else. Some stretches of the city genuinely felt like I was back in Manali.

I also ran into some scammy situations. My Pathao drivers tried to sell girls to me more than once and I refused each time on the spot. Outside of that, Pathao was just a bad experience in general. I used it four times and every single time they charged me close to double what the app showed. For Sarangkot they charged me triple. I get that it's a hill ride but the overcharging inside the city has no excuse.

Overall though, the trip was genuinely great. And I'll say it again, the people who were racist in this sub are a tiny minority. They don't represent Nepal or its people at all. Thank you for the hospitality. I'm definitely coming back, at least for Lower Mustang and ABC before I die. Thank you.

P.S.- To whoever can get this post's screenshots to the guy who blocked me after I called out his racism and AI generated comments( everyone knows for his AI answers), I just want him to know that I loved the place. That's it.

Suggest a budget hotel for an Indian tourist.

I'm visiting Pokhara in mid June and I need a hotel under 2000/night near lake side (maximum 2.5k). My bus will reach around 8PM. So suggest some hotels for a stay which allow check in as late as 10 PM in case bus delays under 2000. Hygiene is my biggest concern. I can't compromise on that. My friend (female) will also join me next morning, I don't know if there'd be any problem.

Good people who took dutasteride per day, what are the side effects you noticed? 28M

Hi everyone, I visited dermat in September last year and he prescribed minoxidil+finsteride oil and dutasteride 0.5 twice a day with multivitamins. I used it for two months (I take dutasteride once a day) and I saw visible results.

But due to fear of sexual health I continued only oil (although I hadn't sex during that time but I didn't feel any problem either). Everything was going good until now. I see a drastic hairfall recently and I think I should start it too.

Anyone who is taking dutasteride, do you face any side effects?

Finally doing my long awaited Nepal trip from 11-20th june. Help me with some queries.

I'm from India. I am visiting Pokhara in mid June. Help me with my itinerary. Following are my questions. Please guide me with this.

  1. I don't like crowded place so please suggest some less crowded or underrated places in Pokhara or near pokhara.

  2. I am considering ABC trek too. Is it possible in 6-7 days. I have done only one trek which was too easy. 7-8 hrs both ways but I'm fit and very enthusiastic so should I do the trek? Also I have heard monsoon might hit the country at that time, should I still doing it?

  3. If not ABC, which trek would you suggest considering my experience, monsoon and other circumstances?

  4. India is boiling and I want somewhere colder. What should I expect from pokhara weather at that time? How's Ghandruk, a comparatively colder place than pokhara?

  5. Another plan is the lower Mustang. What's the role of monsoon in that area?

  6. Anything else you want to suggest?

Planning a Gurez Valley trip in Mid June. Suggestions required.

I'm planning a trip to Kashmir concentrated in Gurez Valley. Need help on the points below.

  1. What should I pack? Despite the fact that May witnessed some snowfall, gurez was hotter in June. I am a bit confused should I pack warm or summer clothes?

  2. What are the precautions I should take asking about Pahalgam last year. Anybody visited after that can tell.

  3. Any additional information should I keep in mind

I'm 5'10" 28M, 84 kg. I started working out 2 weeks ago. Everyday I train one body part with 4 exercises, 10 min rhythmic walk on treadmill, 10 min cycle and 50x3 jumping jacks. My trainer told me when I completed 1 month (2 weeks remaining) I should start split work out.

My concerns- I feel my legs are strong but I couldn't lift much when it comes to training my biceps, I couldn't do push ups and pull ups. I had a cervical fracture in September last year but I don't think it should be a problem for the biceps. My protein intake is around 90-100 gms per day (whey + vegetarian diet). Should I go for creatine? I read it helps in lifting more. Also I'm suffering from heavy hair-loss. I use minoxidil and finesteride that helps me in hair regrowth and I don't want to lose it either. Is it a myth about creatine that it causes hair-loss? Since I am a vegetarian which supplements should I take for better health and growth.

Any other suggestions or tips for me. Thanks in advance.
