DJB official asking for 25,000 bribe to waive a wrong ₹53,000 water bill — what should I do?

I’m dealing with a serious issue with Delhi Jal Board.

There is a wrong water bill of around ₹53,000 on my connection. When I approached the concerned DJB official regarding correction/waiver of the incorrect bill, I was allegedly asked to pay ₹15,000 as a bribe to get the bill resolved.

I have not paid the money.

I want to handle this properly and legally rather than simply paying. Has anyone dealt with a similar situation with DJB?

What would be the safest way to proceed? Should I approach DJB Vigilance / Delhi Anti-Corruption Branch, and is it possible for them to take action based on the demand for a bribe?

I’m also concerned that if I complain directly to the same department, the official may create further problems with the water connection/bill.

Any advice from someone who has actually dealt with DJB corruption complaints would be appreciated.

Affordable stay near IPS Academy, Indore for 1 day? (Here for an exam)

Hi everyone,

I'm coming to Indore from outside the city for an exam at IPS Academy and need a place to stay for just one day/night.

I'm looking for a clean, safe, and budget-friendly hotel, hostel, guest house, or PG near the campus.

If you've stayed nearby or know any good options, please let me know. Approximate price per night and how far it is from IPS Academy would also be really helpful.

Thanks in advance!

Texted my ex after 3 years. Her reply was....

After 3 years of ghosting , she finally replied to me .

Back then she ghosted me without any explanation. No closure, no goodbye—just disappeared from my life.

I wasn't expecting us to get back together. I just wanted to see if enough time had changed anything.

Her reply was:

"I'm sorry. Please don't contact me again."

That's it.

It's strange how one sentence can answer questions you've been carrying for years. It hurts, but at the same time, I guess that's the closure I never got.

If anyone else is thinking about reaching out to an ex after years of no contact, ask yourself whether you're ready for every possible outcome—including the one where they simply don't want you in their life anymore.

Today I got my answer. Time to move on for real.

Edit: A few people asked for the backstory. I actually made a post here , if anyone's interested in the context: https://www.reddit.com/r/BreakUps/s/7VcWGdARPw

That post explains why I decided to reach out after all this time. I wasn't trying to force a conversation or get back together—I just thought enough time had passed for a simple hello. Her response gave me the clarity I never got back then.

Indian investor with ₹50 lakh – where would you put it if your goal was life-changing wealth over the next 10–20 years?

Hi everyone,

I'm based in India and currently have around ₹50 lakh available to invest. My goal is not just beating inflation or getting average returns—I want to maximize my chances of building substantial long-term wealth while avoiding reckless gambling.

A few things I'm considering:

* Indian index funds and equities

* US/global index funds

* Dubai/UAE real estate

* Indian commercial or residential real estate

* Acquiring or starting a business

* Small manufacturing/distribution businesses

* Digital businesses (SaaS, AI, agencies, e-commerce, etc.)

* Private credit/bonds

My concern is that Indian markets have been volatile recently, and I don't want to blindly put everything into one asset class.

If you were in my position:

  1. How would you allocate ₹50 lakh?

  2. Would you focus on investing or building/acquiring a business?

  3. Are there any opportunities outside India that you believe offer a better risk-reward profile?

  4. What is one decision you made (or wish you had made) that had the biggest impact on your wealth?

I'm particularly interested in hearing from people who have grown their net worth from ₹50 lakh to multiple crores rather than theoretical advice.

Thanks in advance. Looking forward to learning from your experiences.
