Solo artist looking for Producer // Mix&Master on song demos in need of further development

Hello, I’m a solo musician looking for some people who have some music making background that can help with developing some demos I have into tracks that can be released. I’d say my genres mainly fit as darkwave/gothic, post-punk, electronic, but also kinda indie. I use FL as my DAW.

I’m particularly looking for someone who could maybe give a little oversight into improving some of the songs I’m trying to finish. I have some songs where I think the main idea is recorded, but I still think they could use some improvement from an outside perspective. I’m looking for someone who could maybe help with some song structure, or just help with bringing out ideas such as “there should be more backing vocals in this part of the song,” or “you should add some chords here to make it sound more full.” I’m open to people who might want to add to recording too. I’d be willing to work out a royalty split and proper credits if you help work on the final release.

I’m also looking to get these tracks a good mix and mastering. So, I’m also reaching out to anyone who could maybe help with that as well.

If anyone is interested in hearing my songs I can send you a link to a private playlist. Just comment or hit my dms.

Should I pursue a degree in marketing?

I just recently turned 28 and I've been thinking about starting school again. I tried college a couple of different times, but ended up dropping out twice because I was really indecisive when I was younger, and didn't like the idea of going into debt choosing a major I wasn't confident in.

I've spent a lot of my 20's just being pretty adventurous, building out and traveling around the US in a camper van, also finding cool jobs that have led me to living in Alaska, Arizona, and Colorado. I'm at an age now where I think I should buckle down and try and focus on an actual career though.

My local community college has a program for residents who are over 25 to take classes for free, and I think I should try it out because you really can't beat it being free.

I've been thinking about either majoring in marketing or in business. I do have the goal of owning my own small business at some point. A lot of people have said that you don't necessarily need a degree to run one, but I don't think it would hurt being more knowledgable with a degree and formal education.

I have also strived pretty hard to try and make a career in music, and I have grown a bit of an audience for myself through online marketing and networking with others. My life dream would ultimately be having a big enough audience to actually live off of music royalties. I understand that is a pretty big wish that may not be totally realistic though.

I also have a background of working on different political campaigns, and those are honestly some of the most fun jobs that I have had. I actually set the record for our company for gathering the most signitures for a ballot inititive I was pretty passionate about. I've learned that a lot of political movements whether they be for a candidate, or ballot propsal are literally just big marketing campaigns. I've also been told that I could be a really good salesman too, but I feel like it would have to be something I'd actually be passionate about selling.

So I'm just wondering given some of my background and interests if you people in this community would think it would be a good idea for me to pursue a degree in marketing? I think I would just start with an associate's and see if I would want to take it anywhere from there.

Would it be worth it to start school at 28?

I just recently turned 28 and I'm thinking about going back to school. I tried out community college a couple of different times and ended up dropping out twice because I was so indecisive when I was younger. I really didn't like the idea of spending the money and going into debt choosing a career I wasn't confident in. I also dealt with some mental health issues that made school way too stressful to really deal with at the time.

I've ended up spending a majority of my 20s just being adventurous. Building out and traveling around the US in a campervan, also finding cool jobs that have led me to living in Alaska, Arizona and Colorado. I also really strived to build a career in music, but even though I've built a bit of an audience, the streaming royalties aren't enough to pay rent. Overall, I don't really regret what I've done so far with my life, I'm just trying to figure out what would make the most sense going forward.

The local community college in my area has a program for residents who are over 25 to take classes for free. I think it seems like something I should at least try out because you really can't beat it being free.

I was thinking about starting classes again with either majoring in business or in marketing, but I think I'm leaning more towards business. I do have the goal of owning my own business at some point. I'm not really looking to get super rich or anything, I just like the idea of making enough to be my own boss and live with only my own constraints. And I honestly feel like if I put the same amount of effort that I have into building my music audience through networking and online marketing, I could easily enough start making some money with an online business.

So my main question is just is it worth it? Is it worth the time and discipline to start taking some classes? Does anyone have any advice for trying something different? I think I would try and just start with getting an associate's, and see if I'd want to take it anywhere from there.

Looking for some people to collaborate on some songs I have in the making (darkwave/postpunk/synthwave)

I'm a solo artist that has primarily worked alone for most of my songs, but I'm looking for some people who are interested to collab on some songs I have in the making. I have quite a few projects that I've been keeping on the back burner that I'm looking to finish up and release this summer.

The genre of the song demos I have can mostly be described as darkwave/postpunk/synthwave, but I've also made songs(and have more demos) that are more singer-songwriter/acoustic and electronic.

Whatever you think you could add, whether that be guitar, percussion, vocals, lyrics, better producing or arrangement, I'd love to hear your ideas. I really want to try and work with people that can bring in a new perspective and help bring these tracks to completion.

I'm not trying to gatekeep anybody, but I am looking to work with people that have some song making experience. (I've been making music for about 7 years now). If you think you could blend well with a certain project though I'd love to hear your ideas.

I have some song demos uploaded to a private Soundcloud playlist. If you're interested in hearing them and want the link, just leave a comment or send me a dm!

[For Hire] Retro-Synth & Chiptune Tracks for Indie Games

Hello everyone! I’m a musician/producer who goes by the artist name “death peach.” I just released a new album called "noise 2" and wanted to share it with developers looking to add to their game's soundtrack.

All of these tracks are catchy, retro-synth sounding, unique, and easily loopable. Many would blend in perfectly with modern 8-bit style games such as Undertale, or Hotline Miami.

Here are some highlighted tracks off the album:

mess

This track blends the gritty, adrenaline-fueled tension like a song from Hotline Miami with a bit more playful, emotionally resonant chip-tune style.

track 7

A catchy, retro, dark synth style song with a more “spooky” vibe. A bouncy beat with a memorable melody and mysterious sounding background instrumentals.

scratch & scribble

A unique, high-energy electronic song that is playful, incredibly catchy, and full of bounce. It would fit perfectly as the main title screen of a kid-friendly video game.

Here is the full album if you’re interested in hearing more:

noise 2

If any of these are catching anyone's ear, I can send over WAVs, stems, or cutdowns if needed. I own 100% of the publishing and masters to these songs, so licensing them over will be a breeze.

Please feel free to reach out to me via DM or email at deathpeachofficial@gmail.com. Thanks for checking out my songs!

What does exclusive ownership mean exactly?

I was offered a deal where I'd be giving the licensor "exclusive ownership" of my songs, along with a 50/50 split on sync fees and publishing. I'm just wondering if I were to take the deal if I'd lose the right to have my music distributed myself to streaming platforms and be able to collect the royalties? The songs I shared with them are already distributed and I'm wondering if I'd have to take them down or not.
