Hep creating a more secure hinge

I am attempting to create a notepad that will hold paper or sticky notes. I found a few designs, but I was looking for something with a little stronger hinge. Ideally, I am looking for a hinge that would ...

  1. Allow the front cover to fold complexly back around to lie against the back cover.

  2. Make use of a filament stand in the hinge, as I feel these provide strong support.

The design of the notepad is basically just two rectangular plates that have a hinge. Being new to CAD, I am having some difficulty designing the hinge. I think once I have a design, I could add it to the existing rectangular plates and be good to go.

I make use of TinkerCAD and also have a personal account with Autodesk Fusion, though I am much more familiar with TinkerCAD.

I am not looking to pay anyone to design this; rather, I am looking for guidance on how I might design this myself. Thanks!

GPD Win Mini 2025 with 64 GB RAM gets low frame rates (15 fps) with Star Citizen

I have a GPD Win Mini 2025 that has 64 GB of RAM shared between the CPU and GPU. I have assigned 12 GB to the GPU in the BIOS. It has the AI 9 HX 370 chipset. I am running Windows 11 at 1920 x 1280 and have removed all AI features and unnecessary background tasks. I am seeing posts by others that show other handhelds such as the Legion Go 2 and the ROG Ally running Star Citizen at a much better frame rate than I am. I am wondering what I might be doing wrong as my system’s specs suggest I should be getting much better frame rates than I am.

USB-C to USB-C cable that can replace USB-A to USB-C cable. Does it exist?

I have several handheld radios that only charge via a USB-A to USB-C cable that comes with the device. I find that the radios do not charge if I attempt to use a USB-C to USB-C cable. My understanding is that the USB-C to USB-C cables lack resistors that allow for the lower amperage required to charge these radios. I may be wrong on this assumption, so please feel free to correct me if I am.

What I would like to do is only have to carry USB-C to USB-C cables instead of having to carry some USB-A to USB-C cables just to charge these radios. Does any such USB-C to USB-C cable exist? Something that can be used with lower amperage devices that have always required USB-A to USB-C specific cables?

How to use Tinkercad to design a curved hose clamp

I am looking to design a hose clamp for a fire engine hose line nozzle. This basically is a 25.5 mm diameter hose used to put out small/brush fires. I am looking to print a "C" clamp where the hose and nozzle would snap into the clamp. Just not sure how to do this with Tinkercad. Any help would be appreciated.

How does a nuclear sub stay quiet with steam expansion and turbines

How does a nuclear sub stay so quiet with the conversion of water to steam and then the turning of the turbines? The sound from a hydroelectric dam turbines is deafening.

Is there a subreddit for Modern Naval Warfare?

Just wondering if a subreddit for Modern Naval Warfare has been created yet?
