Saturday Lineup

I'm thinking about going on Saturday. Bunch of music that I want to hear. My question for y'all is:

What Act Are You Most Excited For:

What Act are you definitely missing:

What Act Should People Not Sleep on:

Dock workers, what are the things that drive you nuts about truck drivers?

I'll start. You open up the truck and there are like 20 load locks in the trailer. Half of them are broken. Some are nearly rusted in place. And you of course don't have room next to your door for twenty load locks.

Chicago 06/27/2026

Went to my first ever Weird Al Concert. I don't think I've ever seen more energy out of crowd that seemed to be mostly sitting down. Such a fun night. I do wish he did play Another One Rides the Bus instead of the video. But otherwise great great night. And if cheese, my Chicago people know that second picture. Might not be a twinkie wiener sandwich, but it's almost as good.

The Funniest Thing happened with Android Assistant

If y'all drive an Equinox, you probably know Google Assistant kind of sucks. For my instance, I use Tidal for my music streaming service. Assistant doesn't like that. If I don't say "Play X on Tidal" it will tell me that it can't and that I need to download YouTube Music. Bogus, but I can usually work around it.

The other day, I was driving with the wife and we were alternating picking songs. I won't say the name of this popular artist, but I will say that the are very popular and we don't like them. I jokingly said "Play Artist A", intentionally not saying Tidal. The idea, of course being, that it simply wouldn't play. Except, it did. Out of the hundreds of times I didn't say "on Tidal" or didn't say it quickly enough, it's never played Tidal by default. Except this one time. And neither me or my wife has been able to replicate it. I have no idea what I did differently, but if you know let me know.

Is there anything like classic Splinter Cell on the PS5?

I'm not talking Hitman. I have played Hitman and it's enjoyable. But it's more of a sandbox game with more arcade-y elements. I just really want to play a modern day Chaos Theory. Something more linear than Hitman. I have also played Dishonored and it's a great game. But it's not quite the same vibe, either.

Can you call yourself a Bears fan if you don't have custom Odunze lighting?

Seriously though, why does this exist?

My Mustard Story

I am a picky eater. I am in a long line of picky eaters. Growing up we didn't have to eat anything... nutritional... Including mustard. My cheeseburgers went as plain as my hot dogs. But as I've become an adult I've realized some things. One, I don't want to be a picky eater. Two, a lot of the times someone tried to get me to eat out of my comfort zone, things were often prepared poorly. You know what I'm talking about, all vegetables were from a can. As an adult, I have found that veggies are quite enjoyable when roasted or steamed from fresh.

That leads me to my mustard story. My dad loves yellow mustard. I never have. But one day I was at a baseball game and maybe a bit inebriated. I got a polish sausage and said F it and put caramelized onions and spicy brown mustard on that polish. It was yummy. And slowly over time I've been added spicy brown mustard to things and now I kind of like it. Part of it was the conditioning myself to use it(when sober). Part of it was finding out that spicy brown is better tasting and not really that much more expensive.

What's the point of this post? I'm not sure. But I'm glad I can finally be okay with a condiment. And no I'm not ever going to put ketchup on a hot dog. Fuck ketchup.

Butterkase

It is yummy when on a nacho cheese Dorito. One of my favorite cheeses. Next I might try fried halloumi on a chicken on a biscuit.

Slayer is playing some already announced shows in September and October. It's also the 40th anniversary of Reign in Blood. I could totally see them headlining and having a bunch of bad ass bands playing before them. Gojira, Exodus, Testament, Mastadon, Converge...

If you're like me, you hate how expensive food and drink is at a baseball game or concert. I went to a concert recently and one beer was $19.50!! I found out that some places (but not all) let you bring in some snacks and water. All major league ballparks for instance, let you bring in some water and snacks. For instance, at Wrigley Field in Chicago, they let you bring in a small soft sided cooler. In that I generally bring two frozen bottles of water, plus 2-3 chilled bottles on top of the frozen, then bags of snacks on top of those. As long as the water is sealed and you're not caught bringing in alcohol, they will let you in. Not every park has the same rules, but just checking beforehand can save you from spending $12 on a lukewarm soft pretzel with a too small cheese cup.
