Sexual assault at IHG
Edit: I see where this is going. Im not taking down this post though. Sorry. And I'm not looking at or responding to future posts. Too depressing and frustrating and I already spent enough time on this today.
But I dont know how muich more to reiterate, THAT OUR PLANS WERE NOT TO SUE. OR CALL THE COPS. WE WANT NOTHING MORE OF THIS THAN DOING OUR PART AND WARNING OTHERS. The point of this post is that we got kicked out for doing so. I was literally looking out for you guys. Weve done nothing wrong, you're not going to make me believe we have or should feel guilty in anyway. I dont care if you hide it behind calling the cops/ I dont need to hear about how dumb I am, I admit I think people are better than they are and I still to this day get screwed by it. And as usual, my mom was right. My mom did not want to call the cops, and I was not going to push it lest there was video and it was an open and closed case. But this is a sub for hotels, and today we were kicked out of our IHG hotel for reporting sexual abuse. Bye. ----
I just wrote on IHG's sub, I imagine Ill get the same response here and as a guy, this is just proof to me, why girls dont report sexual assault. And that further proof to my belief that the average person is not good, but an ego/id and self preservation. I however, want it to be known, for any decent people out there what happened at a IHG hotel and how they handled it, basically forcing us out from the hotel.
My mom was sexually assaulted by an employee, she asked a random employee for a refill of her drink, he was already loitering around her for a while, took her to kitchen, no one there, and then extremely exremely inappropriate touching) she told me it was just a tap on the butt at first, then a week or so later admitted it was much worse. I'm an idiot, I understand that now, but I contacted the hotel immediately, I was given the hotels manager email. It was midnight. If there was video footage, it had been a week and I just did not want it overwritten. It was key, if it didnt exist then it was he said she said, and I 100 was not getting the cops involved. So I sent her an email asap. My mom did not want to involve the cops, she didnt even want the 5% chance of the dude or his frekend family following her to her car one night. We are extremely busy, this has already ruined one day and I imagine most of the rest of our week. I essentially wanted to confirm footage first and then figure things out from there, maybe acting like the hotel found the footage randomly and then reporting it themselves. Or at the very least firing him and it being a wake up call.
At no point, did I consider IHG responsible or had plans to sue. It didnt occur to me, that even a young woman hotel manager would want to sweep it under the rug. It has nothing to do with them. I was very straight up about that. Apparently such thought is rare these days.
The hotel manager was nothing but horrible, Ill just leave it at that but can expound upon it, but its already a long post. And we were essentially kicked out "for our safety". But really, we were just kicked out. Everything my mom said would happen, happened, Its pretty crazy, shes always right when it comes to these thing. We been treated like crap by people at the hotel, by people on the reddit post. By the lady we spoke to on IHG's corporate line.
We did nothing but now are suffering. im having to look for hotels which are now twice the rates, and just thought out of decency, IHG would switch us to their other staybridge on the other side of town. The manager said it was not their problem. Corporate number, same. I figured Id be contacted by actual humans if I wrote to reddit, theres noway this is how someone high at IHG wants this handled. But nope, it seems like they have little minions setting the narrative over there and shadow banning.
