I have never been able to burp and found this subreddit not long ago. I have pretty much daily trapped gas after eating /drinking that causes pains.
I have ibs like symptoms and nothing really works to relive gas pains
Is this a common thing for anybody?
Hey all, I have been taking a capful of miralax in the morning daily, and it has allowed me to produce some great bowel movements that I have not had in a long time .
Only problem is , after I go , I get this painful trapped gas that lasts almost the whole day. Like I’ll be able to pass gas , but then it comes right back . It’s very annoying and it hurts
Does this happen to anyone? Would splitting my dosages day/night work better? And advice would help
I was recently diagnosed with mild chronic gastritis. I’ve been about a week and a half into my bile reflux gastritis diet and healing process and I already feel a difference.
I still have some aches and pains , gas pain, a bit of constipation and indigestion but overall my symptoms are already getting better somehow ?
I have more energy, I’m going to sleep/waking up without pain, and I have less anxiety .
I’ve been eating super bland , no coffee /alcohol, caffeine, sweets, dairy , or carbonation. I eat a little bit of gluten here and there but can’t tolerate it too well yet .
I haven’t had any reflux in the last week as well, as sometimes those flares last for days .
Could this be a sign of healing being only 1 week in?
I have mild chronic gastritis/reflux, and I usually workout 5-6 days a week.I read somewhere that constant exercise can actually worsen gastritis?
Is there any truth to that? I feel like sometimes when I workout too hard , it contributes to my flare ups.
I have had stomach pain for about 10 years now (27). At first, it was just some stomach pain and a little constipation here and there , but manageable . Over the years , I had randomly gone into remission, no clue why, so I thought it was just ibs and said to myself oh wel I’ll just live with this and manage it .
Fast forward to the start of this year , I started a new job As a firefighter. I’m in the house 24 hours a day, and I start eating a lot of red meat, carbs , coffee. My symptoms slowly started getting worse, and by April this year, I’d had enough. I was having burning abdominal pain, constipation, bloating, gas pains, heartburn. I had it every single day, and I would get awful flare ups. And to the average person, they will never understand what that feels like .
I then saw a dr finally , set up a bunch of tests, and the only thing that came back was my endoscopy findings . Chronic inactive gastritis as well as bile reflux.
I’ve been searching this sub , and the diet seems really restrictive . But, my flare ups have been lasting way longer than they used to. I have quit coffee, but I am having trouble getting rid of others things . With my job, I am away at work for 24 hours and it is so difficult to eat like I should. I’ve been eating so many of the foods I’m finding out that I should avoid like fruit, pizza, steak, ribs.
I’m just looking for guidance. I am lost , I feel like Everything I do stops working . My flare ups are lasting weeks now. I will say, I have not done a full blown diet yet as I just got diagnosis . The only thing I’m doing is I’m on one dose of ppi.
What do you guys recommend I do? I am desperate , and I will do what it takes to heal.
Also, is it possible that i neglected it for so long that it just got worse and worse over time?
Thanks guys
I recently had a colonoscopy and endoscopy done due to my gi problems - heartburn , constipation, stomach cramping , fatigue. , etc…
They said everything looked pretty good , except that I had excess bile pooled in my stomach? The doctor didn’t really know what to tell me and he deferred to my primary .
I also think I have sibo too, which may have caused bile reflux , or whatever the name may be .
Can anyone educate me on this ? Should you not have bile in your stomach at all ?
Thanks and any info is appreciated
So to preface I’m not calling this a success story as I know relapses happen far too often.
I’ve had stomach problems for almost 8 years now . I used to be able to eat whatever I wanted , until I had a 3 month stretch where I got strep, pneumonia , and mono college , then it all started. I had constipation, stomach cramping , fatigue, food intolerances , slow motility, awful gas pains, the whole 9 yards . A doctor told me I had ibs so I assumed I just had that for life and had to manage my symptoms.
Fast forward to this year and my symptoms got worse . I went gluten free , which helped for 3 months but then stopped . I honestly think my symptoms got worse after doing gluten free. So no celiac to which I thought I had . I check all the boxes for sibo altho I never took the breath test yet. I would have these flare ups that would last days if I ate any sort of eggs, heavy fat meat, or corn. (my gallbladder was clear per an ultrasound ). I was having trouble sleeping, as my stomach aches would get horrible at night , and I would just be miserable all the time . I thought I was going crazy.
To get to the point, I recently watched that video of that guy saying he took artichoke and ginger extract capsules. So as a desperation attempt, I bought some off Amazon and now take them every morning on an empty stomach.
Within a couple days , my symptoms have about 90 percent subsided , and with the help of a light jog every morning, I have decent motility and no more cramping . I hear my stomach making “gurgling” noises.
I don’t know how long this symptoms recovery will last but im enjoying finally living life again while it persists. I don’t want it to get worse , like when I went gluten free and my symptoms came back with a vengeance.
Should I be taking probiotics to help? Fiber? Honestly I am pretty new to the sibo community but I’d love to hear some feedback . I know this isn’t a fix but anything that helps my symptoms is something I want to ride as long as possible . Thanks guys
I’ve had gi distress , indigestion, bloating … etc (I’ll spare the details) for a few years .
I recently started doing some elimination diets and I was huge egg eater. Hard boiled and scrambled mainly. I found that every time I eat eggs , I have awful stomach cramps, massive bloating, pain, fatigue , and the worst is gas pains, that will last for almost up to 3-4 days after I consume them . It’s honestly a very painful few days in which not much helps soothe it.
I know this would be more of an intolerance than an allergy, but it’s literally ruining 3-4 days at a time for me.
Is this a thing? Can anyone comment on this or share some experiences
I’ve been a sufferer of ibs c for years. I suffered from bloat, slow motility, pains, fatigue, etc.. I have tried cutting out multiple foods and done diets with little help. I even went gluten free for 6 months , which helped and then just stopped working after a few months .
The last thing I needed to cut from my diet was coffee , as I was having about 2 strong cups a day. My ibs was getting worse and worse , untilI finally cut it , and about a week later most of my symptoms have subsided . I have no idea how that worked but coffee must’ve been damaging my stomach lining or digestion.
Has any one else experienced this? I have seen very few articles or posts regarding this . I’m not sure if it’s the acidity or I’m just intolerant of caffeine /coffee.
Have had stomach pains for about 8 years . Took a bunch of antibiotics for sicknesses i got in college (pneumonia twice , strep) and had mono in a six month span, and my stomach was never the same. I’ll spare the entirety of symptoms as they are pretty common to what most people post on here. I’ve been gluten free for about 5 months and it’s helped my symptoms tremendously, but it hasn’t made them all go away completely.
With that said,
It seems as though every time I take antibiotics for strep , or some other bacterial infection , my stomach problems vanish. I read somewhere that this could be a telltale sign I have either h pylori or sibo.
I’m going to get tested eventually as I’m seeing a Dr currently.
Does anyone else have an experience with this at all?
