Free snack wrap fell on the concrete, and free smoothie exploded in the cupholder.
Had a long, rough day at work and decided to go to Tropical Smoothie Cafe for the free drink flip flop day. Immediately after I exit the building, the wind blew my free snack wrap onto the concrete. I clean it up and get in the car. I got to put my free smoothie in the cupholder and the thing just flips over and explodes all over the place. Terrible day.
Which do you prefer? Berlin Trilogy or Cocaine Trilogy?
Both sets of albums are undoubtedly fantastic, and it's really hard to choose between the two. On a given day, I may swap from one to the other.
On the one hand, Low and Heroes are in my top three Bowie albums, and Lodger is also a very respectable album even though it's one of the lesser of the classic 70s albums for me.
On the other hand, Station to Station is my absolute favorite Bowie album, perhaps even my favorite album of all time. Diamond Dogs and Young Americans are also both classics, and definitely beat out Lodger for me. Even still, I don't find myself going back to either of those two albums as much as I go for StS, Low, or Heroes.
Either way, it's amazing that one artist was able to create so much amazing music in one lifetime. For now, I'd say my preference is toward the Berlin Trilogy.

Nová syntéza 2 is an underrated gem
I recently visited Prague for a study abroad class, and while I was there I picked up a box set of CDs featuring every album by this band called Blue Effect. This track was one that really stood out to me as a hidden gem of the genre. It is an amazing piece of jazz fusion and reminded me of Yes and Frank Zappa. Unfortunately, only a few of their eight albums seem to be on US Spotify so if you might need to look elsewhere for their whole discography. Trust me, it's worth it!
Visiting Europe for the first time! Here are my finds from Czechia and Poland
Blue Effect - 1969-1989. A boxset of all 8 of their studio albums plus a bonus disk of singles and bonus tracks. They are a prog rock band with a similar style to Yes from the Czech Republic.
Flamengo - Kuce v Hodinkach. Another Czech Prog rock band, although this one is more similar to King Crimson. This album seems to be considered the peak of the Czech Prog scene.
Niemen - Sukces. This is one of his earlier albums. It's very funky and soulful, but also kind of experimental. It reminded me of Young Americans by David Bowie. I've heard he gets more progressive on his later albums, but his earlier work seems more popular. He is a Polish artist.
Breakout - Blues. Just a classic rock record. And a very bluesy one at that. They are a Polish band.
SBB - Pamiec. A Polish prog rock album from the mid seventies. It features long epics, with only three songs on the album to make up its 40 minute runtime. The closest thing I could think of to it is Echoes by Pink Floyd.
Visiting Krakow, got a few albums to bring home with me.
I heard that these were some of the most famous rock, prog, and psychedelic albums from Poland. I've listened to a song from each, and I think they're really good.
Sukces - Niemen
Pamiec - SBB
Blues - Breakout
I don't like calling women goonbait.
So yes, the Gameoverse pilot has the female protagonist and antagonist in swim wear. It isn't even particularly revealing swim wear either. They are just normal looking women (or at least as normal cat girl MegaMan can look anyway). If you can't handle seeing that and consider it goonbait, then I must caution you to never go to the beach or to the swimming pool because you're probably going to see a lot more women dressed like that. Come on, guys. I know that it's just a vocal minority saying this garbage, but I'm sad that the pilot has been up for less than a day and there is already a very vocal and annoying set of the fan base like TADC.
Help finding this album on CD
Hello again! I am visiting Prague from the United States and have been listening to some classic rock from here during my stay. I was really attached to this album while listening to it, and wanted to find a CD of it to bring back home with me. I only have a couple of days left here, and I couldn't find it at Maximum Underground, Music World, or at three different Luxors. I was wondering if any of you guys have seen a copy of it recently or what other record stores I could walk/take the tram to before I leave for Poland. Thank you for your help, you guys have been very kind to me on this subreddit!
Hello! I'm an American visiting Prague and Terezin for two weeks for a study abroad class. I'm looking for local music and literature to bring home. Are these good choices?
For context, I'm visiting Terezin because I'm doing a study abroad class on children's literature during the Holocaust. As such, I already own and have read Vera Schiff's memoir, Helga's Diary, "I Never Saw Another Butterfly", and "Vedem". I'm loving my time here in Prague!
I'm visiting Prague this month, and was looking for some Prague Prog to bring home with me. I found this box set of albums by this band and thought it would be a good choice. Anyone know of this band?
I was just going to get a couple of albums by them, but they were 329 k each (about 16 USD), so I decided that it would just be better to get the box set for 1172 k (about 56 USD) as I'd get 9 albums for the price of 3 and a half.
Visiting my parents' house from college and got a sweet Bowie collection to end off finals week!
It's me again, the guy who got Heathen and Reality in the last post. Those albums were awesome by the way! Reality was my favorite out of those two. I think these were the albums y'all were suggesting in that post. My parents had all of them at their house, but they're mine now. I've got plenty to listen to this summer!
I've heard Captain Tom, Starman, Fame, Rebel Rebel, a song that goes like, "Transmission, Transition", and that one song that has like the Japanese woman speaking at the beginning and then he starts screaming the lyrics. Excited to hear a couple of full albums!
Edit: I just remembered that my friend's dad gave me a CD of 1. Outside a few months ago as well. That album was really cool, but felt like it dragged on just a bit too long for my liking. I haven't listened to it in about half a year and forgot Bowie made it.
