Any one have any quality recommendations on clasps for seiko watches? I love the watch love the bracelet just needs a higher quality clasp to pair it with. Thank you all and happy 4th

[SPB453] vs [SPB383] vs [SLA079]

Title says it all. Looking to get my one and done Seiko. Reached a milestone in life and want to splurge a little. Which one is the one to get? Is the marine masters 8L35 worth the extra $?

Movement Damage?

Hey guys. I’m pretty new to automatic watches. Long story short I got a new watch and went to change the time. It’s an SW200-1 movement. Position 3 was hard to get into and I didn’t want to pull hard to damage the crown. I thought it clicked but when I went to change the hour and min hands the second hands stoped moving, went backwards, went forwards. Basically was erratic. I just now figured out that it’s supposed to hack and fully stop when changing the time. Did I damage my movement? What happened? Thank you all!

Impulse buy

Just bought a 1521 ocean on bracelet full polished. Literally stumbled across it 10 mins ago and thought to myself I need that right now. Should be here next week. Convince me I made the right choice lol

Comparison to “Luxury” Brands

For those in this group that have Tudors, Longines, Rolexes, etc. how do our Certinas compare? At what point does paying more just mean you’re paying for the brand? Is the 3x 4x 5x 10x price difference really worth it? Do you find yourself still wearing the certinas knowing you have “better” watches in the box?

Bracelet quality and straps

I’ve had my 40.5 DS action for a couple days now and I am blown away by the quality of the watch head. Bezel is tight, movement is smooth +2 seconds a day. Proportions are just perfect. The only gripe I guess u could say I have is with the bracelet. It’s obviously only a 1000$ watch so my expectations have to be realistic but it’s just jangly and squeaky. Yea I’ll probably swap it on a nato at some point but I wish the steel was more refined. Otherwise what a beast of a watch! Interested to hear if you all just rock with it or looked for different straps options. I am considering an octopod system from Zuludiver or something with a deployant clasp if anyone has any recommendations

Bezel Action

Went to the AD today and tired on a 38mm DS Action Diver. I noticed it had some back play on the bezel. The overall action felt decent but I was put off by the looseness. Anyone else have a similar experience that they can comment on? Is this on all divers or was the one I tried a bad apple?

38 vs 40.5 Proportions

So I’m deciding on which watch to buy… My wrist is thin - 6.5 inches. I like the black 38mm but something about the bezel from the side profile just looks off to me. It almost seems like it’s making the watch thicker. The side profile of the 40.5 looks so much more balanced since the bezel isn’t “cupcaked” and flatter - which to me makes the watch look thinner. I know it’s a thick 14mm compared to the 13.22 38. But something about the 38 to me just looks chunky? Anyone else notice this?
