Have you ever tried to explain R&M to someone who has never watched it?

The season 9 ad popped up on our tv last night so I tried to explain it to my father. I had no clue how difficult that was gonna be til I was half way through describing a mix of the glorzo episode as a facehugger episode where aliens shit eggs immediately after birth, the multiple times boob world was mentioned, how masturbation was a regular topic & that it is a main trait of one of the main characters, that Rick banged a planet & had inter-planet/human babies before getting into a full on fist fight with a zeus god who appears claiming to be the actual father, lmfao. All while emphasising that it does have a complex story line once you get into it.

You should have seen the look on my father’s face ahahah. So has anyone else had a more successful attempt at explaining the awesomeness that is Rick & Morty? 😂😂

Is it normal for parents to not hug you when you are in distress?

I’ve just had an absolutely horrible day (when I say that I mean I managed to leave the house for 2 hours). In that time I had multiple things majorly trigger my extreme anxiety & panic disorder I’d rather not get into.

By the time I gave up trying to be in public I was parked on the sidewalk shaking almost in tears. Decided to go to my parents house to try to calm down, told both of them separately how I was close to a breakdown in tears (they are watching tv in different rooms). Neither of them tried to comfort me in the way of a hug or anything, they were empathetic in their words saying yeah I should just head home on days like that & that was it.

I didn’t think much of it til now, while I am funny with being touched it might have been nice to get a hug in that moment idk. My parents have never really been much for displays of affection even with each other so not getting a hug is pretty normal in my family.

So I was wondering, is not hugging when a family member is in distress normal with most families these days? I genuinely never questioned it until recently.

So much lol at this. Firstly it was 2 player! I remember the days up to sims 2 where you could play with your buddies!

Also was surprised they had an advertisement of a nudist colony on the back of the box ahah, the early 2000’s were not quuiite as liberal as they are today 😆

Also lol at the ‘new graphics let your sims be work of art!’ compared to todays graphics ahaha. Though back then we were just happy to play a game, fancy graphics were still being developed. The beautiful time when you buy a game, pop it into your console & away you gamed, no downloads necessary! 👌🏻

And lastly, the bright pink disc was definitely a bold choice lmao. I ain’t against it, it was just a lot to take in when opening the case 😂

Would love to have a way to play this again, can only imagine how dated the features would be ahah would be such a vibe 🤭

So I have a dog who went mostly blind maybe 9 or so months ago, she’s adapted really well like finding her way around without much difficulty.

However something I have noticed is that multiple times a day our forced indoors cat meows in his desperate need to be outside hunting birds (hence why he is a forced indoors cat lol) while he scratches at the door frantically. Whenever he meows it seems to bother my dog, specifically when he meows my dog immediately gets up from laying down as if in a panic & just stands there til she realises it’s nothing & lays back down.

This happens multiple times a day when my cat gets zoomies so it seems to be really distressing for my dog? She never barks or makes a sound just scrambles to her feet, which is another reason for the post as her frantic scrambling nails on our wooden floor triggers my anxiety baad when I am focused on something (I’m extremely sound sensitivity) so I feel bad reacting in a panic when she gets up in a panic (well what seems like a panic idk?? Maybe shes just annoyed with the cat??)

What do I do? Does it seem she is panicked by the cat or frustrated?? It’s not a one off thing, it’s every day before night falls while my cat has zoomies so I wanna figure out how to help my dog?

Edit: Maybe good idea to mention she doesn’t seem to be a fan of noise like me lmao, whenever we have guests over she constantly barks while we talk. We did get her trained when she was a puppy but she is an old Samoyed now which as a breed trait just become Karens as they get older, very very stubborn lmao.
