Dracula from the earliest version of Hotel Transylvania 1 who was gonna be voiced by Alan Rickman was such a cruel character...

He literally HYPNOTISED mosquitoes to suck the blood from unwitted customers and this scene shows the ripe mosquitoes returning to their master only to be squeezed like tubes of toothpaste... And ofc his servant Simon Renfield whose Renfield family has monster blood despite being also sent to town for supplies and to diverse electricity from the nearby town Slobnik to the castles lab is treated like shit and is given a very hard time just because he doesn't trust him... Simon tries to discover his suppressed monster abilities and the main villain was Van Helsing's overly obsessed grandson whose lair was an abandoned factory.

Hate how obsessed diva Mavis is with her crush Simon Renfield who's chopped asf to the point of stalking him in the earliest version of Hotel Transylvania 1 in 2006-07 where everything was different. Their difference in attractiveness is so great that they're literally on opposite ends 💀

Hotel Transylvania Details Now!

Aug 3, 2006

The other day the trades reported that Sony Pictures Animation was already at work on their third CG animated feature (following Open Season and Surf’s Up: A True Story), the retired monster romp Hotel Transylvania. Fangoria managed to dig up a lot more info on it than the trades were willing to unveil, and I have to admit it sounds even cooler than before…

The story involves the famous monsters (specifically the Frankenstein monster and his (ex) bride, Eunice, Larry the Werewolf, the Mummy, Al the Goblin, The Invisible Man, and of course Count Dracula), who have all holed themselves up in the titular building because the world is too scary, even for them.

When faithful Renfield passes away, Dracula sends Al out into the world to find the last of the Renfield clan in order to keep the monsters supplied with blood and food so they never have to venture outside. Things apparently either get wacky or scary, we’re not sure which. “We really want to make Hotel Transylvania scary,” co-director Anthony Stacchi told the site, so I guess that’s a good sign!

The character designs were unveiled at a Sony Pictures Animation press preview this week, so expect to see them cropping up online any day now. Sony plans to release Hotel Transylvania on the big screen in 2009.

My favorite is Eunice Stein who was such a baddie diva drama queen cynical about men and broke up with Frank from the earliest version of Hotel Transylvania 1 as well as Mavis's peer and friend

My favorite character is the very early version of Dracula of Hotel Transylvania 1 made in early 2007 back when the movie had a much scarier tone. Read body text below

Below is his official character exploration.

— Dracula (character exploration) —

"Gratitude.

I'm 1278 years old, and I still don't get any.

Look, I've been around the block about 10,000 times. I know people, and in 1300 years you know what's changed? Nothing. With the living or the dead.

Take the bunch I live with. It's not the same world anymore. Someone had to take charge. Had to save our necks from a less frightened world. But do I get any thanks? No, it's all, “I need new neck bolts, I'm tired of being invisible, put my arm back on…”

On my 500th birthday, what did I get? The black plague. It didn't hurt me, but for about a week, I had such a rash. But I digress.

The world has changed. Humans haven't. Their ingratitude has only grown with their technology. I used to be the biggest thing the world had to fear. And think about it, what did I give them? Eternal life. And were they grateful? No. I wasn't enough. They had to have their guns, and tanks, and nuclear bombs. Talk about scary. And they call me the monster?

So here we are in the 21st-century. The monsters today are all razor fingers and rubber masks. No style. No panache. And here I am, a glorified desk clerk in a hotel for a bunch of misfits forced to live on the scraps of a world that is scarier than us now.

So why do I keep at it? Why not swallow a clove of garlic with a holy water chaser?

Because of the one ray of sunlight I've seen in the last 1300 years. Mavis. My daughter. I worry about her. What father doesn't worry about his daughter? Especially with this new kid, Simon Renfield. I'm gonna have to watch him. He just may save us or kill us.

But for now, I am here to show Mavis, and the rest of this lot, there can and will come a day when we will again rule the night. When we will come back, give the day-lighters a bit of the ol’ Nosferatu! One last frightful tear to show how fright is done right.

And then maybe, just maybe, I'll get a little gratitude."

Meet half human Mavis. This plot point dates back to early 2009-2010 when Jill Culton was directing Hotel Transylvania 1.
