4Runner Limited Hybrid with 3rd row vs Grand Highlander Limited AWD Hybrid???

4Runner Limited Hybrid with 3rd row vs Grand Highlander Limited AWD Hybrid???

I’m stuck between these two and wanted to get some opinions from people who own them or have driven both.
I currently drive a Tesla Model Y Long Range and want to add a gas car for convenience and the occasional road trip. I commute about 40 miles round trip, three days a week, and the rest is mostly city/suburb driving.
It’s just me, my wife, and our little Shih Tzu. No kids, but we might get a second dog down the road. I’d like a third row for when family or friends visit, even though it probably won’t get used that often.
I also road bike pretty frequently, so being able to throw my bike in the back without too much hassle is important.
A few things I’m looking for:
Leather seats
360 camera (really don’t want to give this up after owning a Tesla)
Hybrid, if it makes sense with price
Good cargo space with the third row folded
Reliability and durability. I’d like to keep this car for 7–10 years.
My biggest concern with the Grand Highlander is the size. I don’t want something unnecessarily huge or a pain to park in garages and tight spaces. At the same time, it seems like the more practical option for my needs.
The 4Runner looks great and seems easier to drive, but I’m wondering if I’d be giving up too much comfort, space just for the looks and ruggedness.
For those who own either one, how are they for everyday driving? How’s the tech, parking, cargo space, and long-term reliability? Also curious how the hybrids have been holding up.
Which would you choose in my situation, and why?

Finally made it out of FedEx Purgatory

Package was stuck in customs for a month. I ordered a hat from Germany. NEVER AGAIN. Customs issue I suppose

Sub Date + Cash for a Panda Daytona… Worth It?

I currently own a GMT-Master II(Bat Girl) and a Submariner Date. I was fortunate enough to get both from an AD at retail, so I’ve never bought a Rolex on the grey market.

Lately I’ve been thinking about trading my Sub (plus cash, obviously) for a white dial Panda Daytona. The reality is I don’t see myself ever getting a Panda at retail, so I’m considering going grey for the first time.
Part of me also feels like if I do it, that’ll probably be the end of my Rolex collecting. I’d keep the GMT and Panda and move on to other brands.

If you were in my position, would you make the trade? Or would you keep the Sub and continue waiting for an allocation that may never come? I enjoy the sub a lot. I wear it almost everyday.
Curious what you all would do and why.

Edit: Thanks for all the advice, everyone. I’ve decided I’m definitely keeping the Sub. If I’m ever offered a Ghost or Pikachu Daytona, I’ll just buy it outright instead of trading.
I’m also seriously considering a blue-dial VC Overseas, and the last watch on my list is a yellow gold Lange 1. After that… I think my collection will finally be complete, and I can sleep in peace. 😂

Would Rolex Still Be Rolex if There Were No Waitlists?

Added the Daytona just for the sake of the discussion.
I was talking to my SA yesterday, and he brought up something that stuck with me. Curious what everyone here thinks.

What if every Rolex AD emptied their safes tomorrow and sold everything on a first-come, first-served basis—basically how most other watch brands operate?

My thought is that a lot of the hype would disappear almost overnight. The market might start to resemble what happened with AP before the Royal Oak became the phenomenon it is today, with dealers offering discounts and actively trying to make sales. I know it’ll never happen, but it’s an interesting thought experiment.

The economist in me says Rolex’s strategy makes perfect sense: limited supply plus massive demand equals incredible brand equity. But then I wonder, if it’s that simple, why haven’t other brands been able to replicate it?

Maybe the difference is that Rolex has the brand, history, product quality, and consistency to make that strategy work. Or maybe it’s something else entirely.
What do you think? If every Rolex became readily available at retail tomorrow, would the hype fade, or would people still want them just as much?

Trade my Sub Date for a Day-Date 40?

Looking for some opinions. I currently have a Submariner Date and a GMT-Master II (Batgirl), and I don’t really see myself owning more than two Rolexes.

I’m considering trading the Sub for a yellow gold Day-Date 40. The Sub is probably my most-worn watch, but the Day-Date has always been a grail for me.

If you were in my position, would you make the trade, or keep the Sub and stick with the GMT? I have both because they wear very different. Curious to hear from anyone who’s made a similar move.

Who Offers the Best Value on Solid 18K Miami Cubans?

Looking to buy a 22-inch, 5mm solid 18K yellow gold Miami Cuban chain. For those who have shopped around, which online jewelers provide the best value and keep markups reasonable? I’m fine with machine-made chains if the quality is good.
Pic for reference.

Should I trade for a 5MM Cuban?

I wear a 2.5mm Cuban every day and never take it off, but I’m thinking about upgrading to a 5mm. For those who have one, does it ever feel too flashy or get in the way of certain outfits? I’d probably keep it tucked 90% of the time. Just looking for some real-world feedback.

Edit: I’d keep the 2.5mm but I can’t see myself wearing two chains at the same time

Came in for one thing, left with another.

Went to the boutique to try on the new 39mm HydroConquest, but another watch immediately caught my eye. I’m honestly glad I have the attention span of a squirrel, because I completely forgot the original reason for the trip. Ended up getting offered 15% off and two extra straps too.
