Live discussion with Councilmember Chelsea Byers about WeHo’s Flock cameras
Hi neighbors. I’m Audrey, a West Hollywood resident and independent journalist covering data sovereignty. Some of you may have seen my public comment before Council approved the revised Flock Safety agreement. I raised several discrepancies between the protections described in the staff report and the language of the contract itself. Councilmember Chelsea Byers was the only one who directly asked staff to address those concerns.
I wanted to share that tonight, she is joining me live to continue that conversation. We’ll discuss what West Hollywood approved, who can access ALPR data, what happens after another agency receives it, why Los Angeles stopped using Flock while negotiating stronger terms, and what protections residents can still request. If you’s like to join us, it begins at 5 PM Pacific. You can also leave questions you would like us to address.
