Chasing vibration/buzzing sound

I have a ‘65 Vibrolux and I have been through this thing a few times trying to find something that’s sympathetically vibrating. I notice it most when I let an E flat ring out using my LP in the neck position, volume at 3-4 range on the amp. I don’t hear it when volume is fairly low or playing single coils through the amp.

What I’ve done so far:

Replace all tubes except the 6L6’s and GZ34
Replaced speakers recently
Checked all hardware is tight including speaker studs
/nuts
Tightened Fender badge that’s affixed to the baffle.
Played the reliably offending notes and put my hand on various parts of the amp to see if I can find it.
Played through normal channel 1 and 2 and vibrato channel 1 and 2, the problem follows all circuits.

I realize without hearing it for yourselves, it’s going to be hard, but maybe there is something obvious I’m missing. The amp is very quiet (at idle) otherwise.

1965 Fender Vibrolux speakers

I just purchased a 1965 Vibrolux that came up near me and a few hours after getting it home and pacing it a bit, I found the R/H speaker wasn’t working and the amp was breaking up too early. To make the long story short, I’m beginning the search for one (or pair) of C8284’s. I wanted to see if anyone has had any luck looking finding vintage speakers. I’ve been all over the internet and there’s seemingly nothing out there at the moment. I have WGS ET10’s loaded in it for now and the sound is decent, but I was super excited to get my first mostly original amp and would like it get it as close to original as I can.

Overly focused on shapes?

Looking to see what people’s opinions are: Do you think being overly focused on shapes (CAGED being the prime example) is detrimental to training your ear to hear the intervals? I started with shapes to “unlock the fretboard” but I’m hoping my ear for intervals overtakes the engrained shape patterns.

Update post/NGD

I posted a few days ago with flaking nitro on the binding of my R9 VOS. Gibson took the guitar back and I picked out a different LP to replace it. Very painless. This guitar has a chunkier neck, weighs in at 8.29 lbs, and has a darker board which are pluses.

Nitro chipping opinions

I bought a new guitar a couple weeks ago. Love the guitar, great weight, blah blah. However, the nitro around the neck binding is already chipping. Gibson / my dealer have been really cool about it, I haven’t heard back for the official word, but it sounds like I’ll either have the option to have it repaired or replaced. The question is, is it worth it? I have been playing it a few hours a day and plan on continuing to do so. I didn’t make the purchase with the plan to have a collectors item or a case queen. If I play it after repair or replacement, will the same thing happen anyway? I guess I’m hung up because it wasn’t exactly cheap, so it should be “well made”. Looking for opinions or previous experiences.

Memorization

I’ve been playing (crappy) for about 6 years and I’m now going through the Absolutely Understand Guitar course so that I become as good as I can be. Being 38 yrs old I’m finding my mind isn’t as plastic as it once was, which I’m compensating for by practicing at least an hour each day, watching the course videos daily, re-reading and practicing shapes open and barre, but I still feel like it’s hard to retain all the information to the point where it’s becoming fluid. I specifically struggle with the common shapes above and beyond C-A-G-E-D major and knowing every single note on all strings up and down the neck. All said, I do get breakthroughs pretty regularly since starting the course and I know more week over week, so some is sticking. Is there anything you guys do to help with the memorization?

How to practice connecting chords

I understand the concept and I like the end result of mixing rhythm and lead. However, I’m not sure what the best approach is to memorizing and/or practicing in a manner to where I can progress with it. I get CAGED, I Know where my minor/major pentatonics are on the fretboard, but nailing triads and stringing them together and landing on chords tones is where I feel stuck. I go to a lesson in YouTube, love the way it sounds in the opening demo, but I can’t apply it.
