Name Change after Naturalization

(DE below)

Hi everyone,

My naturalization process is currently underway and I hope to receive my certificate soon. Right after that, I plan to change my name. I want to drop one of my double names and adjust a few special characters from my native language.

For anyone who has already gone through this, I have a few questions about the process:

  • Do I really need to notify every single entity (banks, insurance companies, employer, subscriptions, etc.) individually after the change?
  • Does the Standesamt issue an official certificate proving that I am still the same person despite the name change?
  • How does it work with the driver's license and health insurance card? Do they strictly need to be reissued immediately?
  • What kind of fees should I expect for getting new cards/documents (e.g., driver's license, health insurance card, Standesamt certificate)?

If anyone has been through this process, what were your experiences and what should one pay special attention to?

meine Einbürgerung läuft aktuell und ich sollte die Urkunde hoffentlich bald bekommen. Direkt danach plane ich eine Namensänderung: Ich möchte meinen Doppelnamen auf einen Namen kürzen und ein paar Sonderzeichen aus meiner Herkunftssprache anpassen lassen.

An alle, die das schon hinter sich haben, hätte ich ein paar Fragen zum Ablauf:

  • Muss ich nach der Änderung wirklich allen Stellen (Banken, Versicherungen, Arbeitgeber, Abos etc.) einzeln Bescheid geben?
  • Stellt das Standesamt eine offizielle Bescheinigung aus, die belegt, dass ich trotz der Namensänderung dieselbe Person bin?
  • Wie läuft das mit dem Führerschein und der Krankenkassenkarte – müssen die zwingend sofort neu ausgestellt werden?
  • Mit welchen Gebühren muss man für die Ausstellung neuer Karten/Dokumente (z. B. Führerschein, Krankenkasse, Standesamt-Bescheinigung) etwa rechnen?

Falls jemand diesen Prozess schon durchgemacht hat: Wie waren eure Erfahrungen und worauf sollte man besonders achten?

Beste Aussichtspunkte in/um Essen für SoFi & Vollmond

Hi zusammen!

Ich suche für die Sonnenfinsternis diesen Mittwoch (12. Aug.) einen richtig guten Spot in oder um Essen. Hauptsache schön hoch gelegen und mit freier Sicht nach Westen. Online habe ich schon Klassiker wie die Schurenbachhalde gesehen, bin aber super offen für weitere Tipps!

Wenn ihr außerdem noch schöne Orte kennt, um entspannt den Vollmond zu beobachten, immer her damit. Die Korte Klippe kenne ich schon. Habt ihr sonst noch gute Empfehlungen in der Gegend?

Clear coat started peeling after a car wash

Hi everyone,

I own a 2012 Mercedes W204, and after taking it through an automatic car wash, I noticed that the clear coat started peeling off in several places. In total, there are three separate areas where this has happened. I've attached some photos below so you can see the damaged areas.

I'm honestly a bit afraid to even wash the car now because I'm worried the peeling will continue and spread even more.

Unfortunately, I don't have the budget to repaint the affected panels or get a professional repair done at the moment.

So my questions are:

  • What can I do to prevent the peeling from getting worse?
  • Is there anything I should (or shouldn't) do when washing the car? (VERY IMPORTANT)
  • Are there any affordable temporary solutions that actually work until I can afford a proper repaint?

AI suggested a few ideas, but I'd much rather hear from people who have actually dealt with this problem.

Has anyone here experienced the same issue? What worked for you, and what should I avoid?

Klarlack löst sich nach der Waschanlage

Hallo zusammen,

ich fahre einen Mercedes W204 (Baujahr 2012). Nachdem ich mein Auto durch eine Waschanlage gefahren habe, hat sich an mehreren Stellen plötzlich der Klarlack gelöst bzw. angefangen abzublättern. Insgesamt sind drei verschiedene Stellen betroffen. Die betroffenen Stellen könnt ihr auf den Fotos unten sehen.

Ehrlich gesagt habe ich inzwischen sogar etwas Angst, das Auto zu waschen, weil ich befürchte, dass sich der Klarlack dadurch noch weiter ablöst.

Leider habe ich im Moment nicht das Budget, die betroffenen Teile neu lackieren zu lassen oder eine professionelle Reparatur durchführen zu lassen.

Deshalb hätte ich ein paar Fragen:

  • Was kann ich tun, damit sich der Klarlack nicht weiter ablöst?
  • Worauf sollte ich beim Waschen achten? (SEHR WICHTIG)
  • Gibt es eine günstige oder zumindest vorübergehende Lösung, bis ich mir eine Neulackierung leisten kann?

Eine KI hat mir zwar ein paar Vorschläge gemacht, aber ich würde viel lieber die Erfahrungen von Leuten hören, die genau dieses Problem schon einmal hatten.

Hat jemand von euch so etwas schon erlebt? Was hat geholfen und wovon würdet ihr eher abraten?

Anfänger-Schwimmkurs für Erwachsene in Essen gesucht

ich würde als Erwachsener gerne von Grund auf Schwimmen lernen. Mein Ziel ist es erst mal, ganz entspannt Kraulen zu beherrschen.

Könnt ihr mir einen Verein, eine Schwimmschule oder einen bestimmten Kurs in Essen empfehlen, der gut für absolute Anfänger geeignet ist? Wichtig wäre mir ein geduldiger Trainer / eine geduldige Trainerin und eine entspannte Atmosphäre.
