If you plateaued, would you rather reduce cardio (25k to 20k steps) or increase calories by 100-150?

Yea I walk a shit ton even when lean bulking coz it has stuck with me since cutting + it became a routine thing after getting a walking pad at home.

Just wanna get some advice on whether I should increase cals or reduce steps. Is there any scientific evidence that leans towards one over the other?

Or it ultimately comes down to just personal preference (eg cut steps to get more rest, or increase cals coz it’s easier, etc).

Thanks in advance!

Hooks vs Straps

Starting to lift heavier but having issues with grip strength and am looking to invest in lifting hooks/ straps.

Is there a difference between them? Which do you use and why? Or do you use both but for different exercises?

Edit: thank you for all your responses! Will be going with versa gripps, thanks!

Higher surplus at the start, moderate as bulk continues?

Does anyone do this? Whereby after a cut, you increase calories more aggressively (higher surplus), and after a few weeks, reduce the surplus?

Personally I struggle with the hunger and cravings after a cut, was wondering if there’s any pros/cons to starting a bulk more aggressively to curb those hunger pangs, then gradually reduce the surplus.

Majority of fat gain at torso area

Am lean bulking at the moment but one thing that always bugs me and hinders my progress is the fat gain around the mid section, while my arms/legs barely grow.

Does anyone also face this and how would you go about it?

153cm, 43kg, 25yo FTM - Given my diet and workout, est time I should give myself to reach my goal?

First three pics are how I look like right now. Last pic is my end goal.

Currently transitioning from female to male hence am on testosterone shots.

That said, I have planned a 2500kcal lean bulking diet, focussing on higher carbs and low fat (personal preference).

Additionally, hitting the main muscle groups twice a week with basic compound lifts but using dumbbells and bodyweight mainly as I workout at home.
Back and Bis
Chest, Shoulder, Triceps
Legs and abs
Rest
Repeat

I like walking, so I usually clock 20k steps a day. Apart from that I’m pretty much sedentary and have a desk job.

Any tips would be appreciated too, thank you!

Insane hunger after dieting & extra physical activity - advice needed for lean bulking

Past few months was cutting but probably went too extreme with it. Didn’t cut calories much, but physical activity went up by a lot (ie walking a lot during the day using treadmill).

Now aiming to lean bulk coz (1) underweight with low body fat (can see abs when I flex, but it’s the weak/skinny type of flat abs) and (2) IM HUNGRY

Anyone experienced the same? Did you go all out during the first month of bulking?

More concerned with the extra fat I would gain if I were to just lose control lol.

I’m planning to cut my activity to half and increase calories slightly but man, I feel like I can eat a whole cow right now.

Officially part of the Creami Gang!

MY FIRST EVER CREAMI!

Drop your favourite recipe!

Mine was from ChatGPT loll:
40g mix of whey and soy protein
- soy makes the ice cream THICKER! I’m using MyProtein choco whey with salt caramel soy protein)

250ml unsweetened almond milk

20g erythritol

0.5g xanthan gum

Optional: flavdrops and pinch of salt

Freeze and put on lite spin. Extra water then spin again coz the first round turned out chalky.

PS this machine sounds like a vacuum cleaner, any tips to reduce noise pollution??

** I tried Whey only for my 2nd Creami of the day (LOL), and it’s way thinner than using a mix of soy and whey!
I believe a mix is much better option

Flex x Cops S2: Should I give it a chance if I dropped S1?

Dropped S1 a few episodes in because I wasn’t a fan of the female lead to be honest.

Was wondering if I should give S2 a go without watching S1, considering it’s a different female lead now.

Thanks in advance!

That drama everyone doesn’t like but you do

I know this sub-Reddit often asks about dramas people like but you don’t.

What about the other way round?

What’s a drama that didn’t receive much attention/love but you just have to recommend it?m

Update: SO MANY GOOD RECOMMENDATIONS, THANK YOU!

The Guilt… How often do you drop dramas?

The more I watch, the pickier I become.

I used to love Rom-com and added a ton to my watchlist, only to drop them after 1-2 episodes in because my taste simply changed.

Some shows were good, but too predictable and I would drop them too.

Feeling guilty tbh, the shows are decent and some are even rated highly/ popular shows but it’s just not my thing.

How often do you drop dramas and do you feel guilty about it?

Less bloating?

Hi there! New here, starting on Prozac 20mg.

I have been dealing with constant bloat and constipation until I started medication and realise I no longer feel as bloated and seen to be able to digest food much better.

This is really surprising because I’ve tried multiple gut medications and supplements but they were futile efforts to alleviate my gut issues.

Instead, Prozac was what helped?

Did anyone else experience the same?
Thanks in advance!

Short Kings - Daily Calories and Macro

As a shortie I find myself self sabotaging any attempts to lean bulk due to the fear of gaining fat which would be highly visible as I’m short.

Looking for some reassurance I guess and any other tips greatly appreciated!

For context
153cm, 25 year old female at birth on T due two years
20k steps a day
I do a couple BW and DB exercises daily too, about a 40 min session for general fitness.

Short Kings - Daily Calories and Macros?

Figured I am consuming too much western media lol, seeing people eat my 1.5 times bulking calories as maintenance just blows my mind.

I’m short af, and the fear of gaining fat easily hinders any goal to lean bulk. I would start for a few weeks then stop due to the fear of gaining excessive fat, which would be highly visible since I’m short.

Would like to get feedback and a general view of how much yall eat as well as daily physical activity in our 9-6 society.

Thanks in advance!

Fear of increasing calories / lowering physical activity

Due to my short height and more prominent hips, there’s this fear of increasing calories despite knowing I can (and should).

Currently weighing 42-43kg at 153cm and have been on T for about two years. (Transitioning, FTM)
Walking 22-25k steps a day, and moderate weight lifting using dumbbells & bodyweight.

Looking at the figures above and myself in the mirror, I figured a decent bulk is what I’ll need. Yet, after increasing calories for a week, I go back to maintenance again lol.

How do yall get rid of the fear of increasing calories / lowering physical activity?

And based on the above, how much should I ideally be consuming?

Thanks in advance!
