Could you help me find comfort items for my niece starting chemotherapy tomorrow?

Hello! I’m not sure where exactly to ask this, but I figured this may be a good start.

My 5 year old niece is starting chemotherapy after being diagnosed with a very rare, very aggressive autoimmune disease today. It’s already been so hard on her little body, I just want to give her something or anything that can help make her more comfortable. I know chemotherapy is going to be harsh. Are there any things that have really helped on treatment days and maybe the few after? Fuzzy blankets? Special water bottle? Fans? Weighted stuffy? Beautiful bedazzled barf bucket? I’m sure there’s a variety of ways it can affect each individual, but I’m just wondering if there’s some tried and true helpful things? She is my son’s best friend and we’re just wanting her to know we love her even when we can’t be with her. Her home life has just been a mess as well and I’m just so sad for her. This is just the only thing I can think of since I can’t really do anything but watch from the outside.

I’d be so grateful for any suggestions as well as any input of how to be a good support person, for both me and the rest of my family, for her. Thank you!

I’ve been passing these guys every summer for years and finally got to just sit and take some pictures (:

Is there any way to help with conjunctivitis? (For my own little wild birds)

I had a pair of Goldfinches show up at my feeder today and was super stoked! Until the female just didn’t look right. I finally saw what I’m assuming to be conjunctivitis. I’ve already taken down my feeders, but I just feel so bad for them. I’ve reached out to my local-ish rehab, but I’m not going to pretend I’d be able to catch wild birds. I’m sure it’s a lost cause and the best thing to do is just keep it from spreading, but is there anything I can potentially do? I figure there’s no harm in asking 😞

Round friend at my feeder

I’ve never wanted to snuggle a wild bird so badly. I don’t know what caused him to do this, but he’s adorable. 🥰

They’re nothing fancy but they just make me laugh

My daily visitors. So goofy. I just love them 🥰

Can anyone weigh in on if this bird is ill or injured? I just got my feeders set up and this poor buddy showed up and I feel so horrible. I will take the feeders down if he is sick because of course I don’t want to spread, but I don’t want to take away a food source if he’s injured and recovering. The way the underfeathers are laying make me lean towards him having been in a tussle. I would so appreciate any input.
