Update on my search for better lip balm

A week or two ago, I asked for recs on better lip balm than Aquaphor because it doesn’t stay on and I got tired of reapplying it. After receiving nearly hundred generous responses, I bought a few and they ALL last longer than Aquaphor!

Here’s what I landed on:

C.O. Bigelow My Favorite Night Balm - holy moly this actually lasts all night. I wear it every night now.

Burt’s Bees Renewing Lip Treatment - this one I keep in the bathroom to throw on in the morning.

Lanolips Lanostick - Lanolips was noticeably the most recommended, but most Lanolips products look like you have to apply with a finger, which is messy to me and I’ll only use a stick. The stick is a bit soft, so I just have to be careful with it, and it’s long lasting. I keep this one in my purse.

Tree Hut lip balm - also love this one, in watermelon scent.

I hope this helps someone else!

Quicken automatically moving all Manual Bills to register before marked as paid

[Edit: I spent all evening on this and finally figured it out - click tiny grayed out clock icon in the upper right of the register, and then select "Don't Show Reminders." I'm completely annoyed at how hard that was to find and figure out.]

I had to reinstall Quicken and start from scratch (whole new data file, not just a backup) due to major glitching. My newly installed version is Business & Personal 9.0.3

The way I manage knowing my Projected Balance is by inputting all my monthly and annual anticipated expenses in as Manual Bills, and each pay period I click "Mark as Paid" to move that pay period's batch of bills over to the register. Marking them as paid would result in them having an orange pencil status icon, meaning not cleared yet, just in their holding place on the register, so my Projected Balance would show my expected balance after my expenses.

When I had to start over with re-installation and a new data file, and started adding my Manual Bills under Bills & Income, it's automatically pulling them all into the register with a little clock icon next to them, when I haven't marked them as paid yet. I used to be able to somehow set it so only my cleared bank transactions showed, plus any Manual Bills I marked as paid. This is what I want to see again. I don't want yet-to-be-paid Manual Bills automatically pulled in to the register with a little clock icon.

I seem to have no settings that govern this. Microsoft Copilot AI has not given me a solution, and ChatGPT thinks its new intentional Quicken behavior.

I would greatly appreciate any help.

Phone mount for 2026 XC90

[Edit: see my response to comment below asking why I need this setup]

It's been a minute since there's been a solid phone mount thread, and I'm not sure what mount to use on it. On my previous vehicle, I used a vent mount to the left of the steering wheel, but the wave of the XC90 dashboard on that side won't really accommodate that here - there's not enough vertical space for the phone there without covering the whole vent.

I don't love a vent mount to begin with, because I live in Florida and it inevitably covers part of my vent. I'm considering a nanogel suction mount to the left side of the screen, on the dash, but it's a little intrusive into the windshield view.

I don't want a cup holder mount because my family needs our cup holders, and I don't want to look down to see it.

What have you loved?

Lip balm that actually lasts

Please recommend a lip balm that actually lasts a while. It's not Aquaphor, which I've used for years and recently realized I'm so tired of constantly applying it.

After 15 Years of Driving Lexuses

I freaking loved my Lexus GX, but Lexus technology and luxury touches have fallen so far behind I can't ignore it anymore. So this beauty, and a bit of a unicorn, is en route to be delivered to me tomorrow morning. 2026 XC90 B6 Ultra with second row captain chairs. My son and I could find only six XC90s for sale in the U.S. with the second row captain chairs (instead of a bench), so it's coming from three states away. Barely pre-owned, less than 3000 miles, Manufacturer Certified, unlimited mileage warranty through 12/31/2030.

XC90 Firmess of Seats

My Lexus GX was t-boned last weekend and likely will be a total loss. After 15 years of driving Lexuses, I'm leaning toward replacing with a XC90, Plus or Ultra trim. I managed to get a 2026 XC90 Ultra as my rental car while I wait out processing of insurance. The seats are pretty firm, not quite as plush/luxurious as I expected. It's not necessarily a deal-breaker, since I love everything else about the car, but I'm curious how you feel about the seats after a while.

I did search before asking this and didn't really see what I was looking for. I'm looking for the best steakhouse, anywhere in the general area between ESB and Central Park, for dinner before seeing Moulin Rouge. I'm taking my daughter to NYC for her graduation trip and price doesn't really matter for this dinner. I was considering Quality Meats but I've read mixed on it (I know it's a little far from the theater, but it's fine - I'll make a very early reservation).

I've read Carversteak and STK can be loud - is that true? I don't mind some volume but I don't want a place so loud you can't have a conversation.

New York LBWT - I'm taking my daughter to New York for 5 days after she graduates high school this month. We obviously don't want to look like tourists, want to blend in, and we own plenty of neutral colors, but what exactly should we wear? My wardrobe is pretty sophisticated for where I live, but where I live is Florida.

For late May - jeans? urban style jacket? are black leggings so faux pas in NYC? Do we need to look like The Devil Wears Prada? Or a Uniqlo ad?

Very important - what kind of shoes to wear for comfort, style, and a lot of walking?

Need day and evening ideas. We're doing all the things - all the tall building views, Central Park, 9/11 Museum, SoHo, Chinatown, seeing Hadestown and Moulin Rouge, 5th Avenue, The Friends Experience because I'm totally GenX, and we're in the preliminary queue for Jimmy Fallon tickets.

Dining at Buddakan, STK, Eataly, Black Tap, ramen, bagels, pizza, Carnegie Diner, Dutch Fred's, Magnolia Bakery, evening dinner cruise to see the skyline and Statute of Liberty lit up, and yes, we're going to Serendipity. (She doesn't eat French, sushi, seafood, or Indian)
