Coming back to Vi after 3 years this September.

Airtel 4G/5G NSA is unreliable in our area. Did rc 1099 unlimited 4G/5G . It's 5G Standalone or SA is strictly restricted to Postpaid subscribers only - leaving me with no choice but to make a comeback to Vi. Service quality is outstanding due to the lower traffic.

Back then in 2023 - with no unlimited pack,5G & uncertain future, ported out to Airtel.

November 2025 - tried BSNL, internet was no doubt excellent along with the presence of VoLTE. They deactivated it after few months for maintenance and I switched back to Airtel for quality service.

Now I regret switching to Airtel but, I won't have to worry much. As soon as early September, I will make my dream come true.

Assuming the rollout of BSNL 5G to commence next year onwards, I will make a comeback to Vi and use it for the time being.

What's your take on Jio's upcoming "Premium 5G" service

As the topic suggests, I'd like to know your thoughts on Jio's upcoming "Premium 5G" service. Is it going to be similar to Airtel's Priority Postpaid/FastLane?

Last day as a customer of BSNL. Thankyou for everything. If you've been unable to use it recently, the reason can be found here

My port-in request will be completed by tonight. June 8 is the validity date of the plan I’m using on BSNL.

Yes, I’ll be paying extra on Airtel from now on. No doubt, BSNL’s 4G service was excellent in our area since their tower is very close to my home. However, due to the lack of a proper 2G network, no unlimited internet, and VoLTE not being available anymore—which is the major reason—I chose to port out from this network at this time.

Due to some upgradation work on tower, my SIM card stopped working. I don’t know if others are facing a similar issue this time. It seems to me that when the upgradation work took place, the SIM card developed internal errors/glitches and became non-functional (4G signal would come for a few seconds, then it would show a “No Service” or “Emergency Calls Only” error most of the time, with no VoLTE and no ability to register on 2G either).

Otherwise, how come it took 2 SIM swaps at the BSNL office to restore services?

The second time the SIM was swapped after personal intervention of technical staff of BSNL (JTO) partially my issue was resolved with only 4G internet worked as before. However, calls switched to the 2G network (VoLTE restricted) and the signal was very poor due to the non-availability of 2G at our location—only 4G is present in our area. I used to receive 2G from a far-off location with barely 2 signal bars.

Received an information from the engineer of our area regarding no VoLTE that time: "Tower upgradation work in progress. As of now, calls are latching on 2G without affecting the internet experience of 4G

Due to too much traffic + Bandwidth issue, both VoLTE and VoWiFi were not available. Will be made available once completed. "

I don’t know if what happened to me is happening to others too at this time. Hopefully, in the next 2-3 months, the problems will be rectified. It’s high time BSNL officials looked into the sudden deterioration of mobile services recently and rectified it ASAP. They have their own timelines for fixes, so I won’t comment further on the issue. It’s a government service, after all.

I’ve also heard that a few more people in our area were trying to port out from BSNL but haven’t been able to do so for reasons not known.

Lastly, I must thank BSNL for meeting the majority of my expectations. I hope it fixes its 4G network and launches 5G soon. I might consider switching back once everything is normal.

RESOLVED: UPC CODE RECEIVED FINALLY!!!! PORTED OUT FROM BSNL!!....GOODBYE BSNL!!!! KUDOS to CPGRAMS

UPDATE: Wrong date of activation got rectified on their system it seems. I was on the line with a higher level staff of BSNL. Asked me to send out the message and voila!!! Received my UPC and I went straight to a local retailer and ported my sim back to Airtel.

Story: PORT OUT ISSUE. COMPLETED MORE THAN 90 DAYS, HOWEVER ON THEIR SYSTEM 90 DAYS WEREN'T COMPLETED.

My fight started around late March(Bought the sim and got it activated on December 19)

More than 90 days had already been completed on BSNL by that time, but they would still reject my request citing that 90 days weren't completed. That's when I got to know about CPGRAMS. I filed a complaint in early April, but there was no resolution at first. Got a response citing reactivation was done on 3 February 2026.

On April 27, due to tower-related work, I suddenly lost VoLTE and my SIM card malfunctioned. At the same time, I filed a complaint on CPGRAMS for that as I was left with no network and had to undergo SIM replacement twice. The official of BSNL gave a nonsense excuse - said the SIM was “scratched,” and as a result, the network wasn’t coming on my device. VoLTE was still missing and calls were switching to 2G. I highlighted this at their office, but the official told me to contact the engineer I’d been discussing my case with for a few days. The engineer then repeated exactly what I’d highlighted above and couldn’t provide an exact time for VoLTE activation in our area.

Meanwhile, my CPGRAMS complaint was closed. A few days later, I got a call from the feedback department asking if it was resolved or not. I told them straight that it was only partially resolved. They asked whether I wanted to appeal against it. I said I’d do it after a few days. That became the turning point. The appeal option became available, and on 21 May, I clubbed my previous port-out complaint with the existing issue.

Finally, after countless top-ups, recharges, and travel expenses, my fight with BSNL ended today. Not worth the hassle - I’ll happily pay extra elsewhere now. CPGRAMS is truly a lifesaver.

BSNL blocking port-out even after 180+ days.still shows 90 days have not been completed for port out

Bought my BSNL SIM on Dec 19 last year.

I raised a CPGRAMS complaint earlier because BSNL was blocking port-out. Their response: “reactivation was done on Feb 3 this year.”

May 4, the extra 90 days from Feb 3 got completed.

Now when I try to generate UPC to port out, BSNL still says:

“UPC cannot be generated as the period of last activation of mobile number is less than 90 days.”

It’s been more than 180+ days since I bought the SIM. How can “last activation” keep resetting and trap customers in an endless 90-day loop?

Anyone else facing this?

Meanwhile, I'll connect with BSNL officials of my district shortly. Will update this thread soon

Shows VoLTE restricted for BSNL.

Previously, I highlighted why VoLTE was disabled and calls were switching to 2G, as confirmed by their engineer due to upgrade work.

BSNL CC says - VoLTE is active on their system for my BSNL connection.

Now I got this error on notification section. Is this normal?

Call service error for "SIM 2" ----

VoLTE restricted for "SIM 2".Consult your carrier.

[Resolved] Network + VOLTE issue. CSC replaced my SIM twice for that!

Update: went to CSC twice (29km). On the second time visit today, the network is restored and the calls are shifting to 2G. BSNL officer's (JTO i think) personal intervention helped me to secure my number. He was very nice person. As everything is working well except VOLTE, I would say their sim cards might malfunction due to any reason (device fault unlikely). Don't wait, just visit CSC.

Whoever having or face "No service or Emergency calls only" network error in future despite being on a good coverage area or stays for seconds, Better to visit CSC asap and get it replaced (try to involve an officer of a CSC office so it gets uttermost priority) .

VOLTE: I had discussions with some higher level staff (engineer with a seperate office in same area) for the last few days, today itself he told that some upgradation work in progress as there is too much traffic on their LTE networks. Due to which both VOLTE & VoWifi are non functional at this time and CALLS ARE LATCHING ON ITS 2G NETWORK ONLY. Infact he told he was talking to me all the time on its 2G network and switched back to 4G after calls. Hopefully, it will be sorted out at some point.

What's next - Incoming/outgoing SMS is barred for 24 hours.

My fight to port out continues. I couldn't initiate it earlier without VoLTE. I also couldn’t switch to 2G because my old SIM and the CSC replacement SIM issued on day one were both malfunctioning.

I would request everyone if coming to BSNL, just buy a new connection and use it as secondary. Do not port on this network with ur existing number for lucrative recharge plans.!!

SOMETHING HORRIBLE HAPPEND PLEASE READ - TAFCOP not showing my BSNL number

So I recharged my number on 27 April 2026 with 225. All of sudden I lost network then for few seconds then I got network but no VOLTE and it went to "emergency calls only" and this is happening since that day.

Previously, I raised complaints about (port out) on both CPGRAMS

and BSNL PGRMS about my port out issue (closing date was 27 April 2026)

Now upon checking on TAFCOP, my BSNL number is not there and I don't know what should I do. Is there anyone who can help?

I am visiting BSNL CSC tommorow

[HELP] BSNL 4G working intermittently but no VoLTE after recharge — calls & SMS completely dead. Cannot register on 2G

I am having the weirdest problem.

I recharged with the ₹225 plan on BHIM app on 27 April 2026. Since then, the phone shows 4G signal only for a few seconds, but with NO VoLTE. After that, it frequently switches to “Emergency Calls Only - BSNL MOBILE”.

I’m also unable to register on the 2G network at all. Since VoLTE is missing, both calls and SMS are not working.

I tried changing locations, restarting the phone, and manually selecting the network, but the issue still persists. I wonder what suddenly happened.

I escalated the issue on PGPORTAL on 29 April, but there has been no resolution yet.

Anyone else facing this issue or found a fix?
