Things you’ve learned from TG/GT?

With so many hours of film I think it’s fair to say that it has taught us some amazing lessons, what have you learned?

I for one have learnt that removing doors from cars makes everything better.

Did you watch on T4?

Depending on your age and location T4 may mean nothing to you in terms of Dawsons Creek but some it may bring back memories. T4 ran on Saturdays and Sunday and tended to show Teenage content including DC, I would often watch it on Sunday after the Hollyoaks omnibus. Were you of an age where you would have a similar routine?

Actors in roles very different to their normal CV

I remember watching "The Big Short" and not picking up immediately that Ben Rickart was being played by Brad Pitt. In hindsight I should have picked up on his voice straight away but for some reason it didn't. Seeing Pitt playing such a straight role and not some big Hollywood role almost makes me feel it is my favourite role of his.

How would you feel about remakes/remasters?

I am undecided about remakes & remasters, not just in games but also in film. It often feels like a lazy way to make money without having to produce something original however I would be interested to see what could be done with JC2 & 3, I love them both and do would be interested in seeing what upgrades could be done (though TBF JC3 still looks awesome).

How would you feel about a remake? Would you change anything or just give them a new lick of paint?

After careful consideration I was wrong about Season 3

>!In the first and other viewings of the show I always thought S3 was the worst season. I thought for the longest time Dawson was unfairly treated and maligned, I think it is because when I was younger I wanted to be like Dawson, it had an impact on the way I saw film in a massive way and still does from a creative POV. I also often thought he was that nice guy, the guy who only wanted to do the right thing, to be a chivalry gentlemen but on further looking I know realise how wrong I was.!<

>!I know what is going to happen next (I am just at the point where Pacey just kissed Joey) and I remember how much a d**k Dawson is. I do still think he redeems himself in S4 in a lot of ways but S3 has made me realise how wrong he was with Joey not just in S3 but other seasons as well and in hindsight I am glad Joey had Pacey.!<

So yeah, you live, you learn, you grow up.

Season 2 ending (spoilers)

Spoilers - post will discuss the end of season 2

>!I am currently finishing season 2, we have seen Joeys dad is once again dealing what I can only assume is cocaine to which Dawson witnesses, he takes it to Joey and to the Police and Joey even admits to helping. Joey tells Dawson she will never forgive him for what he has done. Now I understand Joey is upset seeing her dad being sent to prison again but I really think Dawson got the raw end of the stick on this one and I can’t remember if Joey forgives him, what’s your take on it?!<

Trouble playing videos that have been recently played?

I am new to JF so please forgive me if I am doing something wrong. I have find when trying to continue watching things I have previously watched it will start to load the file, spin and then not play the file, the only way it seems to work is if I try to play it from the very beginning. I have tried leaving my HDD off for a number of days as I thought that might be the problem but it continued. I have tried to do a forced refresh and tried it on both Firefox and Edge and both seemed to have the same issue but the files work perfectly fine on VLC so I think the files are okay.

My machine is not the beefiest rig but I do think it should be able to handle it. I have also tried to download the Jellyfin Desktop app but it only seems to be for Linux. Has anyone seen similar issues or have any advice?

Thank you in advance,

Buying unofficial merch

I am not sure what it’s like in other countries but it’s not uncommon here in the UK that at gigs there will typically be someone selling tshirts for the bands playing usually at a cheaper price, I very rarely buy them as I assuming they are not official but how do you feel about them?

Who do you identify with the most?

With so many interesting and compelling characters in this masterpiece I think it is fair to say we all would be influence and identify with at least one of them, who inspires you? who makes you tune in each time you come back to watch it? Who is your MVP?

Detention vs The All Nighter

Both episodes are somewhat similar in the sense of the setting and the theme. Having everyone in one place and not being able to escape each other, which episode is better in your opinion?

Pop punk songs on film soundtracks

I rewatched Jay & Silent Bob over the weekend and was reminded of Stroke 9 with the song “kick some ass”, I haven’t heard much by them but will be going through their back catalogue, what albums from films are the best in terms of Pop Punk for you? I still love the AP and AO2 soundtrack to this day

I am worried my depression may ruin something great

I (M) have been with my partner (F) for around 3 years and we got engaged this month. Over the last 48 hours I have not been the best partner to her, have felt disconnected and panicking about things I really have no reason to panic about, nothing has happened to make me think I have anything to worry about but it has really messed with my head. I think it comes down to my own head making my fear about being abandoned and also my head thinking I cannot trust my partner when again I have no reason to doubt her. She has done nothing wrong, this is on me.

I am not looking for sympathy, this is on me but it has made me feel awful and worry I am mentally mistreating her and almost giving her reason to leave me, like the old saying of jumping out of the 3rd floor instead of the penthouse. I was in therapy again some time ago as this is the longest relationship I have ever had and was worried about messing up.

It feels like I need a reset switch, something I can do to wake me up and get a grip before I go to far and ruin what is truly is the best thing that has ever happened to me and I am considering going back to therapy, does anyone have any advice? Thank you if so in advance.

Your top 3 Tom Cruise Films

For the longest time I never thought much of Tom Cruise. I didn't dislike him as such I just wasn't that bothered about watching the films he has been in. Now I have seen just how wrong I was. The Last Samurai and American Made turned me around on him and showed me how good and how solid and actor he is and has always been.

So moving away from the intial two above I saw more and for me these would be in my top three of his films:

A Few Good Men

Jerry McGuire

The Firm

I have Vanilla Sky tivo'd and intend to watch it and I do plan on seeing Eyes Wide Shut, again, I just haven't got around to it.

What would make your list?
