Over the past couple of weeks a female summer tanager has been hanging out in the backyard, she is fond of the apricots! I know she leaves our area soon (The Woodlands, TX), but it’s been so nice listening to her “pit-a-tuck” calls and watching her footage on the bird cams!
I hope we get a pair to nest in the green space behind our house next Spring! #summertanager
One of my favorite backyard visitors, he always finds the best grub in that tree! The best restaurant in town!🤌🏾 #redbelliedwoodpecker
These two always come through together for some food and a stop at the bird bath! #backyardbirding
Excuse my potty mouth at the beginning, but this guy got himself a nice, juicy bug from the tree at the end!
Two of our bluebirds hanging by the water in the hot part of this afternoon. Very interesting behavior, I’m going to have to look it up!
I come across this female a lot behind the Sterling Ridge Park N’ Ride! Her mate is usually close by!
(This is a Live Photo set on a loop)
We tried out a new birding spot today and it was WONDERFUL! The White Ibis were all over, and I got to watch a solitary Sandpiper amongst other wonderful birds!
A great way to kick off a Sunday!
There are three here at Sprint Creek Nature Trail in Creekside!!!
AND WE JUST HEARD A BARRED OWL GO OFF!!!
They’re out here every evening! Definitely worth the heat to come out and watch them for a while!
I’m still new to capturing the birds in my backyard at different angles and with the optional settings! Today we noticed more hummers in the yard so I took a chance on a slo mo capture pointed at the feeder!
Only took 15 min for it to show up! My first hummingbird slow motion capture on iPhone and it still looks fast to me!
I AM ABSOLUTELY GEEKING RIGHT NOW!!!!!😩🥹😂
It’s not the best, but I’m just getting into capturing the backyard birds! Here’s one of my bluebird slo mo tests, I have learned that landscape is my friend in future!
We’ve been testing a few different angles to record the birds that visit us each day, and now we have hours upon hours of footage. I’m going to start sharing some of my favorite snippets from the different spots!
Lately, this young group of bluebirds has been stopping by every afternoon to feast on earthworms and cool off in the water!
This beautiful female (our family has named her Marie) visits our yard every day, along with her hubby (Frank) and their new baby boy who has recently become more independent! (Ray)
I just love catching them through the day! And, yes… We are big Everybody Loves Raymond fans!😂
My Torti burrito making herself irresistible to get some treats!😂
We heard the birds losing their minds and then the distinct annoyed call of a red tailed hawk (light morph) and eyed this guy from the front of the house!
The chickadees and wrens took over the feeder on the other side of the yard with our juvenile woodpecker so the Bluejays and cardinals have been getting down over here! Nothing stops the doves from going wherever they want 😂
