New to Lindy Hop. This photo conveys how I feel when I dance.

It's mostly, "eeeeeek!.... I'm bumbling my way through this, but I'm trying my best and I'm having a BLAST!!!"

I am in my 4th month of weekly Level 1 Lindy lessons. I'm determined to get really good at this, because it brings me so much joy. Even just watching the really experienced dancers gives me life!

Work in progress... A Mexican panadería (bakery)

My favorite part so far is the hand-lettered sign. I did a lot of research on Mexican hand-lettered signs!

My display of the Spongebob series along with my previous Hello Kitty display

The mini Spongebob figurine is from the Five Below set. The aquarium just looked so lonely and boring so I added the figurine and the message in the bottle thing. The aquarium was definitely the weakest idea.

Still loved the set though!

Modified bakery kit: Lulu's Cake Shop

I just finished my little bakery! (Lulu is my dog, sorry if there's fur in your fondant!) I bought this kit online and changed it up quite a bit. Acrylic craft paint and scrapbook paper were used extensively. The cakes and baked goods are made from polymer clay and tiny foam cylinders I found at a craft store. Decorated with paint, nail art decorations, beads, ribbon, etc. The pink cake stand bases are golf tees!

I've included what the kit is "supposed to" look like. (last 2 pics)

Please help me style this dress!!

Just bought this 50's inspired dress that I'm in love with! I'm planning to wear it for a vintage/vintage-inspired pageant. This is for the "evening/cocktail" portion.

I know I need to shorten the hem and cinch that waist!

The shoes were just what I had nearby and I know they're too boring. I can't do really tall or skinny heels. Would a mule heel look best? How about something that looks like a strappy dance shoe?

I like the idea of gloves but am wondering if wrist length would look better. And would dark green look better? I'm thinking I could custom dye some white ones.

I know this jewelry is too plain (it's what I already had on). What are your suggestions for type of jewelry? Should I bring in the dark green color? Is it too much if I do sparkly?

Hair: would a little pill box/fascinator go with this? Maybe a sparkly hair comb sweeping back over one ear?

I would appreciate any ideas! Thank you!

Dyeing suede shoes that have been waterproofed

Hi folks! I bought some new suede espadrilles in a light beige color. Since I figured they'd get dirty quickly, I sprayed them with a coat of Tarrago Nano waterproofing spray. Now I'm considering changing their color to red using Angelus suede dye. Do you think the nano spray will cause an issue? And does anyone know if I can also dye the fabric laces with suede dye?

Here's an update for my removal - about 1 year of progress

This was a prison-style tattoo that was almost 30 years old.

In case anyone wants an idea of how much I've spent: I paid $706 for 6 treatments.

It was $226 for a 3-pack with Spectra laser (Groupon deal).

$480 for a 3-pack with PicoPlus laser (Black Friday deal - 20% off).

The tech who has been treating me told me (when I was asking about the Black Friday deal) that if it wasn't gone by the 2nd 3 pack, she'd keep treatment going until it's gone. I don't have a ton of faith that they'll stand by this since it wasn't in writing, but if they do it, great!

I am giving up on buying shoes on Poshmark even if they're new

These were clearly new/unworn but must have been stored wrong. I wore them for 10 minutes inside my apartment and the inside liner just disintegrated. I paid $50 for these and "accepted" them before I wore them. I'm really hoping they let me return them for a refund. Waiting to hear back from CS.

I bought a different pair that give off the most embarrassing little fart noise when I walk. Ughhhh I'm so done!!

We celebrated Lulu's 8th birthday yesterday!

She has a sensitive tummy so I couldn't give her a cheeseburger like I would've liked. I made her a chicken "cupcake" with natural peanut butter used as frosting and to write with.

I really hope this post stays up - I am in no way affiliated with Michael's but I just happened to see that their awesome clear display cases (that are perfect for Miniverse!!) are on sale for $21. They're normally $60. I have two of these and I love them! I won't post a link in case that triggers removal of this post but the name is "Clear Front Loading Mini Figure Shadow Box with Shelves by Studio Décor"
