How much! (L-boxx)

Why are large L- boxes so expensive!

I needed a new blade on my circular saw, but as it's an odd size I couldn't find one.

Looking about I found a GKS18 which was pretty cheap. It was bare, but as I've a few batteries spare I decided to get it.

Now I like my tools in boxes, so if I get bare tools I'll look for a L-box to put it in..... ouch... it needs an L-boxx 238 and with an insert it's 75% of the price of the saw!

A rethink is in order. 🥴

Click LVT (UK)

We had stick down LVT in our kitchen and had it in a previous house so we like it.

Doing our bedroom we though we'd give click LVT a go as it's cheaper as I can lay it myself.

On the instructions it says to use a PU foil underlay over concrete to stop moisture, but our floor isn't just concrete.

It was built in the early 60's and has a bitumen type covering on the floor which I think was what they put on before changing to a DPM.

Anyways, do I need the PU underlay? Or should I just put in under as it doesn't cost much?

EM lights

Just replacing a few of these, twin spot self test, and was wondering about the auto test.

It might be manufacture specific but do they retain when they did their last test on a power outage? I'm guessing so as they have a battery in them. 😂

Just wondering....

Closed road

Driving last night and the road was closed so went to report it using Waze on Android Auto, but the icon wasn't there....

I guess it because you have to interact with the screen a bit more, but why can't you mark a road closed when using Android Auto?

You can do it on the app when it's not connected.... which kind of defeats the point. 🙄

Old SWA

I decided to throw my old regs books away a while back 'as I wouldn't need them' but......

... I was terminating an old cable which I think is 19/.083 (although maybe 70mm). Anyway it's PVC and 18th only has XLPE. 😕

Anyone got ideas on current capacity? It's 3 phase, reference method E.

3 (?) way lighting

Ok, UK spark here with a question to those over the pond....

In the US you call 3-way lighting what we call here 2-way. i.e. Turning a light on and off from 2 different switches.

Why do you call it 3 way when you have 2 switches.... I'm just confused 🤔

Probably a good reason. 😜
