Blood work for 4 year old
I need to get blood work done for my 4 year old. Two years ago we went to Life labs and the experience wasn't great. The lab technicians were very nervous and hesitant about doing it for a young child. They were taking too long and my child was flailing his arms, and we were struggling to hold him down. It was so chaotic! Are there any testing centres that are specifically for kids or can we request for some provision? Thank you!

Looking for advice on separation from spouse
I am 36(F), I have a 4 year old. I want to physically separate from my husband. We are already separated in the same house, different rooms. We talk only on texts related to child and house stuff, otherwise have no interaction. So we are on the same page with regards to our marriage being over. However, he wants to stay together till my child is older (16 years), just so that it's easier to co-parent and gives the child some normalcy, and also less expenses. I don't want to do this anymore and want him to move out by the end of the year. We own the house together, but I want him to move out so that our child can stay at home with me and at least have a semblance of his old routine. I plan on co-parenting amicably and let him have an equal share of time with our child. I am financially independent and also plan to share costs evenly. What I am worried about is how he will take the news when I tell him about physically separating. He has anger issues (yelling/shouting) and can be extremely emotionally immature. I don't know anything about legal matters, but what does one do in such situations? When should I approach a lawyer? Does a lawyer help when I don't want to divorce but only physically separate? Thanks.
Summary: seeking legal advice for how to get started when we want to physically separate from spouse (if he is not agreeing to it).
Artsy and whimsical solo things to do in Mississauga
My birthday is coming up in a couple of days. On the day of my birthday my partner will be at work and my child in school. So I decided to take the day off and do things in Mississauga that I'm interested in. I want to check out museums, art galleries, cute cafes, art workshops or bookstores. Would love to hear recommendations of what all I can do in Mississauga by myself? TIA!

Is it possible that Tylenol helped my child twice with an asthma flare up?
My 3.5 year old child is on a maintenance plan of Flovent puffer and Albuterol as per need since the age of 1. He has viral induced asthma. As soon as we see the first signs of sickness, cold or cough usually, we start with the puffers. When it's a bad flare up, we give Dexmethasone (Dex). Last month, he fell sick and Albuterol was not helping and it looked like his breathing was not clearing up, he also got a fever 102 F. So I gave him Tylenol for it. I wanted to observe him at night and then decide whether to give Dex or not. But strangely a few hours after Tylenol his breathing had eased up. And the next day he looked better but not entirely, so continued the puffer plan and he did get better the next day. I found it weird that it helped with the breathing.
Then last night, he was having wheezing and a low fever. He was cranky and not sleeping, so gave Tylenol. Again it helped with the breathing. I'm really confused. Anyone with a similar experience or can explain this? Thanks.
How often do your preschoolers fall sick?
My 3.5 year old has been in daycare since he was a year old. He would fall sick frequently initially like two times a month, and then as he grew it became less frequent. At age 3, I started noticing that it's been once in two months now, which I felt was normal (6 times a year). By sick I mean a cough, cold, and a fever. However, two months ago when summer started, my son fell sick 3 times already. Our doctor is not worried, and feels it's just him catching one virus after the other. However, I have some mom friends who tell me their kids fall sick like 2-3 times a year. Makes me feel so worried if I'm doing something wrong. So I wanted to ask a bigger community. How often do your preschoolers fall sick? Thanks.
3.5 kid potty trained now pooping a little in underwear
My 3.5 year old son has been potty trained for around a year. We do have a few accidents here and there but for the past few months it was going pretty well.
Since 4-5 days he's been saying he wants to poop but won't poop on the toilet. Then after a few hours he has a small poop stain on the underwear and some poop in his bum. Every evening after school it's the same, dried up poop in the bum and a stain. He does eventually poop later in the day or one day later, and it's usually a normal bowel movement. Normally he poops 1-2 times a day, very regular and normal poop. It's summer here and my guess is, he's not drinking enough water and is maybe constipated. But his stools are never hard. Has anyone else experienced this? Or is this a regression? Please help, so tired of washing poopy underwear lol.
Public schools vs Private schools
Hello, wasn't sure where to ask this, so I'm trying here since I live in Mississauga. Our child will be ready for school this September. We've been feeling really confused about schools. Hearing negative things about public schools that they are crowding the classes, teachers are understaffed and unhappy, increased cases of bullying etc. It made me so anxious that I was thinking if we should consider private school, it's definitely expensive, we could afford it but would probably mean lower savings for us. Or do you feel at such a young age it doesn't really matter? Looking for advice and learning about your experiences. Thank you!
