If you’re currently down the rabbit hole of researching mattresses, I just want to say I FEEL FOR YOU. Mattress shopping is complex once you start digging into the research, user reviews, options, etc - and that's before you even factor in differences if you're shopping with a partner.

Here's what I wish I had done first -- go to a big box mattress store to lay on a bunch of different mattress types to see what we (husband & myself) could agree on. It turns out my husband really prefers straight memory foam mattresses, and I really prefer coiled mattresses. Husband is slim and a stomach sleeper, I am less slim and a side sleeper.

Anyway, we initially purchased a Novaform Comfort Grande from Costco. They had a model out on the floor, and (in contrast to the reviews) it didn't feel overly firm at all. We purchased from Costco because we knew if we didn't like it we could return it. Well.... we kept it for two weeks, and it felt WAY firm compared to the store model. We gave it back to Costco.

We looked at Costco, Macys, IKEA, and Mattress Warehouse. We ended up getting the Kingsdown Wilcrest from MW. To me, all the little coils make it feel like a hotel mattress. It's only been a couple months, but we're really liking it. Another redditor was bothered by the tufts and the plastic tabs; we don't notice them at all. My husband tosses and turns a fair amount before he settles and with this mattress it doesn't really disturb me too much.

I do intend to take mine out early in the morning and late at night, but I'm not sure she can last the day without a mid-day break, when the heat will be at its worst.
