Ever heard of unpaid Part-Time Role??

My brother is in his 3rd year of AI, and received a part-time job offer. The company says it will be unpaid to provide real production-level experience while working as an engineer part-time. Sounds crazy, but is it worth it? Have heard of unpaid internships, but what is happening here? Basically free labor in the name of experience, but as someone who entered the job market myself this year, I was thinking it might not be a bad decision either as his experience might help him a little more later on?

Don't Pakistani companies verify claims in CV?

I know someone who has fake experience in his CV. So basically he never worked at that software house, but he just picked some random small software house in Lahore and claims to have worked part-time for them in his resume, and has been getting lots of interviews as well. But it's crazy how the recruiters in Pakistan aren't trying to verify them somehow? Literally anyone can just lie and claim anything without any repurcssions? Overstating or lying about skills or even personal projects is another thing, but literally lying about employment???

Internship at Royal Cyber

Does Royal Cyber take interns all year round? They have this application open all the time on their careers page. And last year I myself saw some of my batchmates all interning at different times. Like one of them interned in June. The other got in September. And one guy got it a month before our graduation (although this guy said he got in through a connection). So yeah, what's the deal? Can we still apply for their internship? The application is quite general so how does one select the specific field/role?

Associate AI Engineer at CureMD

So they posted about this job 14 days ago, and I applied it a day or two later. Has anyone received any update regarding their application? Any assessments or interviews have taken place yet or not?

Need some info about i2c

So apparently, i2c is still hiring for their Associate Engineer roles, although I think I saw them hiring a few months ago too. Does anyone have any idea if they're genuinely hiring still, or is it one of those cases of keeping a job posting open for other internal reasons with no actual interest in interviewing newer candidates? And in either case, what's their hiring process like? How many interviews? And do they have a specific stack preference? Because I heard that they mostly work with Java, whereas I don't really have any experience with Java.

Jazzworld AI associate panel interview

Finally got the invite for the interview tomorrow just when I had accepted that it might be over by now. Anyway, I know this has been asked a couple of times here before, but still if anyone could guide me about the interview? Are they asking technical questions? Do I need to revise some concepts or something? I don't remember my subdomain but apparently saw an old email and it seems that my Area of Interest was Analytics & Software Technology. The Area of Specialization was Data Science. Anyone who had the same domains?

IT Trainee at Bank Al Habib

I have an interview coming up at Bank Al Habib for their IT Trainee position. So I had a few questions in mind. What type of questions could I expect? I already gave their test during their recruitment drive at my university, which was a mix of general questions and CS theory + coding. And apart from the interview, does anyone have any idea of their salary and overall growth opportunities? The job is in Karachi, and I'm honestly open to moving if it's worth it?

CCD lovers where are you all?

A while ago someone posted on this sub about how we need to be wary of CCD and the uncontrolled amount of power they have been handed over. I agreed it with it. I am a firm believer of executing rapists and pedophiles. However, everything should have a proper channel. To ensure proper justice, the first thing that needs to be done is making your judiciary stronger and efficient. Something where such cases are taken seriously and sentences are handed over quickly. A system that you can trust. However, giving a police organization unchecked power is not the solution. How can I trust them? What is the guarantee that the people they are shooting on sight were actually criminals or just scapegoats? Some people claimed that no, they only shoot people who are confirmed criminals, but that has two problems:

  1. It is not true. They have failed to present any evidence of the majority of people they have killed and one of their cases where they killed a child came out too. Further proof of why they should not have any right to kill people without trial
  2. Assuming that is correct, we live in a very stable perfect society where they won't misuse their power without 100% confirmation of the criminal, then why not just arrest them and sent them to a court?

Anyway, the recent case surrounding Ishaq Dar is further evidence of this. The core problem in Pakistan stays the same. The rich get away with everything. Why doesn't CCD go and gun down Ishaq Dar's rapist grandson? Is their power reserved only for the common and poor people? And again, we all know that he will get away with it in the court too. And that is exactly the problem in Pakistan. You all were cheering for CCD like it has resolved all our issues and put an end to crime. But it won't. CCD is just a diversion to make you lot think actions are being taken. But CCD is no different than our current system, except that it's worse. Rich get away with courts. They get away with CCD. The addition being we have no idea how many innocent people CCD has killed too.

Ishaq Dar will remain the FM and the Deputy PM with no say in governance, but just a puppet for public appearances who can keep getting rich. His grandson will get away with it because he still has that political power and wealth. Maryam Nawaz, whose illegal selection was cheered by some people as a feminist win, will protect him. Hina Pervaiz, who is the first one to tweet to call out sexism and misogyny and its dangers, will protect the rapist. Our voice doesn't matter. We're fucked up people born and stuck in a fucked up country built by the elite for the elite. But again, thank you Jinnah because "India bad for Muslims saar".

And trust me, I'm not an Imran Khan fan or a PTI supporter. Never voted for them, never pretended that life was good when he was the PM. But it's also so ironic that Imran Khan's comments used to get way more coverage from the people, media, and feminist organisations like Aurat March than this has gotten. Imran Khan used to get called sexist for his idiotic comments, and rightly so, but Maryam Nawaz is a champion of women rights when there is nothing she has done in that regard. If anything, her rallies, her actions, her family name she benefits from - are all an evidence of nothing but sexist history. But nope, at least she herself is a woman.

Do Pakistani HRs even read your resume?

Applied to Royal Cyber for their Backend and AI intern positions long time ago. All of my experience till now has been backend and AI related. My resume itself mentions skills and projects related to that. Because I wasn't really interested in frontend roles, and also because honestly I don't know much frontend except basic HTML and CSS, I have avoided writing that in my resume. Absolutely 0 mention of any frontend work or skill. Anyway, I never received a call for the positions I applied to - which is fine because they probably found better fits. But I had also applied to the Frontend position with the same resume. As I said, 0 mention of any front-end work in my resume. All projects and experience have been described around backend. And I still got a call from them for this frontend role. Only 2 possible explanations: either they don't read resumes and send invites based on the vibe, or their frontend positions have no competition whatsoever?

IT Trainees at banks

What's the general role like for IT Trainees at banks? I received an interview call from Bank Al Habib for their IT Trainee position, after clearing the test that they conducted at my university (and that I had essentially forgotten about). So I need an idea about the work they do. And most importantly, what should I expect in the interview? The test had kinda basic coding questions and a few theoretical mcqs (realized back then how much I need to revise my theoretical knowledge), and I assume the interview would be focused on technical concepts as well? Most software companies focus on OOP, DSA, Database concepts so should I expect something similar or more of general management style questions since it's an IT position at a bank? Anyone who knows about it?

What's appropriate for graduation/commencement?

I'm deciding on a dress for my graduation. Going for dress shirt and pants with a tie. It's quite hot these days and we will be wearing gown over so I decided to skip a full suit, or any jacket layering. I was thinking of white shirt with black pants and a navy tie, but not really sure if that color combo would work without resembling that "staff look" (maybe charcoal grey instead of black would be better?). And honestly, I'm generally awful at deciding color combinations, so yeah, had to get some advice from here on what would work the best.

Convocation outfit ideas for a guy?

Have my university's graduation ceremony coming up, and needed some outfit ideas. Should I go for a dress shirt and tie, or a full suit? I was leaning towards the former, since we'll obviously be wearing those gown over the dress anyway, but still any advice would be helpful, along with the color I should go for etc. Thanks

What's appropriate for convocation?

I'll be graduating next week, and was wondering what should be worn for convocation? It will most likely be a daylight event (could be evening, timings haven't been confirmed yet), and since we will be wearing gowns over the dress anyway, I was thinking maybe a dress shirt with tie? Or should I go for a suit or something? But either way, I was wondering about colors and all because I'm generally bad at choosing.

Pretty sure this has been asked a multiple times here, but just wanted to ask around if anyone has received the email about the "panel interview" stage yet?

It's so over (random rant)

Sorry if it's not right place to post, but kinda related because after 100s of applications, I finally got an interview call. The first round went amazing, and I got called for a second round which was a coding interview. Had 3 questions, with 30 minutes to solve. In any other scenario, I would be doing the first 2 in maybe 10-15 minutes. Third question was tough, but still doable. But of course, I f'ed it up. I misread the first question which I only realized after running the test cases. Corrected that and went on to second question. Again a very easy question, something I have done before as well, but at that moment I have no idea what happened to me that I started overthinking, started using maps and filters and everything that you can think of when they weren't even needed, only to run out of time. You've no idea how pissed I was at myself. For the first few minutes the only thing my brain could think of was: WHY WERE YOU DOING THAT????? YOU HAVE DONE SUCH QUESTIONS BEFORE. WHY WERE YOU OVERCOMPLICATING IT??

Don't even know if I'm getting another interview call from anywhere else. Feels like this was the only chance and I might have ruined it 💔
