one of my favorite videos from when Jennifer got asked about the new film and ended up liking it. the one who started “#notmychucky” can even admit the film was good and in front of Don Mancini nonetheless 😂
I truly feel the 2019 film would’ve done great as a limited series. the movie is so short and watching it, you definitely feel like something’s missing (aside from voodoo!). With a show format, there would’ve been more to dive into these characters. The relationship between andy and Karen, Andy and his father (or lack thereof), more of Chucky’s descent into madness leading up to an epic conclusion.
id gladly still take this for a sequel if you’re reading this, MGM! 💔
this weekend is Necronomi-Con and The lineup was incredible. met Dana Delorenzo and Ray Santiago (Kelly and Pablo) from Ash vs Evil Dead and they were wonderful. Loved getting to hear their stories with Bruce. long live the evil dead
Can’t say enough nice things about these two 😭 absolute icons and such cool people. Ash Vs Evil Dead will forever live on!
One of my favorite things about the original script written by Tyler Burton Smith were the many nods to the original franchise. One of those nods was a homage to the Chucky and Tommy scene from Child’s Play 2!
Here’s a snippet from the original script and an excerpt from my novelization!
Hello all! First of many post to come. I love horror literature (Grady Hendrix is the goat!) so earlier this year I challenged myself to write my first book. I decided to novelize my favorite movie, Child’s Play 2019, as a way to celebrate the films 7th anniversary.
I used the original script written by Tyler Burton Smith and the final screenplay to write my book. Uploaded it to archiveofourown but decided to go one step further and printed copies for my friends and family. Had a blast writing it. Long live horror lit!!! 🎃
I recently put out a novelization of Child’s Play 2019 to celebrate the films 7th anniversary. I also made the doll in the second picture!
yes another Chucky 19 post but just received a hardcopy of my novelization and wanted to share! this movie may not be loved by Chucky fans but it will forever live in my heart.
made the doll in the second photo too! being a Chucky fan can be fun (occasionally)
one of the most common gripes was that it was “too different” to be child’s play. as a mega fan of the original and remake, I immediately saw the connections and understood the changes.
today is the 7th anniversary of my all time favorite child’s play film and to celebrate, I spent the past 6 months novelizing the movie.
This version includes many of the films deleted scenes, taken directly from the original script written by Tyler Burton smith.
It’s my first novel and I had a complete blast writing it. hoping the Buddi fans out there will have a good time reading it.

a few years ago, I owned a replica of the stage 2 plant from the film. it was incredibly detailed and probably my favorite prop. hate the at I had to get rid of her
one the reasons I loved the child’s play remake was the director, Lars Klevberg. That guy was the absolute coolest person I’d ever met on social media. He was always so appreciative of fans, never failed to answer fan questions and was just overall pleasant.
back when I started my novelization of the film, he was always happy to help. I included the Buddi manual they made for the film that he sent. it goes over the dolls entire specifications as though it were real.
a lot of heart went into this film that unfortunately got overshadow by a gross smear campaign against the film. glad to see it’s having a small resurgence this year
took this photo of a buddi doll I made along with the tots seed of Chucky doll.
another’s deleted scene from my collection. This one showcases how Chucky originally set up Karen’s trap using a buddi bear.
as always with MGM, a lot of child’s play was once again axed with the footage going straight to some shelve. I’ve been sharing what I can to bring light to how the film was originally intended to be.
On the films 7th anniversary (June 21st, Next Month) I’ll be releasing a complete novelization of the film for free. Written by me using the original script with all of it’s scene.
