one of the most common gripes was that it was “too different” to be child’s play. as a mega fan of the original and remake, I immediately saw the connections and understood the changes.
today is the 7th anniversary of my all time favorite child’s play film and to celebrate, I spent the past 6 months novelizing the movie.
This version includes many of the films deleted scenes, taken directly from the original script written by Tyler Burton smith.
It’s my first novel and I had a complete blast writing it. hoping the Buddi fans out there will have a good time reading it.

a few years ago, I owned a replica of the stage 2 plant from the film. it was incredibly detailed and probably my favorite prop. hate the at I had to get rid of her
one the reasons I loved the child’s play remake was the director, Lars Klevberg. That guy was the absolute coolest person I’d ever met on social media. He was always so appreciative of fans, never failed to answer fan questions and was just overall pleasant.
back when I started my novelization of the film, he was always happy to help. I included the Buddi manual they made for the film that he sent. it goes over the dolls entire specifications as though it were real.
a lot of heart went into this film that unfortunately got overshadow by a gross smear campaign against the film. glad to see it’s having a small resurgence this year

as always with MGM, a lot of child’s play was once again axed with the footage going straight to some shelve. I’ve been sharing what I can to bring light to how the film was originally intended to be.
On the films 7th anniversary (June 21st, Next Month) I’ll be releasing a complete novelization of the film for free. Written by me using the original script with all of it’s scene.
