Is anyone's lab still open to accepting an incoming-freshman?

I'm really frustrated because the lab I thought I'd be working with with ghosted me a week ago and now I have two weeks to find another lab. I'm very passionate about research--I have wet-lab and data science experience from high school and was really looking forward to participating in research at hopkins :(

I've sent a lot of emails out to professors who said they were accepting through ForagerOne but none of them have gotten back to me. Am I doing something wrong? I would really appreciate a lead or any advice, thank you!

Are any of these school appropriate/professional? General advice?

I think some of these are cute but which ones are actually flattering? Also general advice is appreciated because I do NAWT know what I’m doing. Any tips on making my face more feminine? I have pretty androgynous features

Dissection based anatomy

I do not have the words to express how excited I am for dba and I will not try. Has anyone here taken it already? Did you like it? Would you happen to have a copy of the syllabus? :D

To the person who suggested reading Sky Daddy on a flight:

I love you so much. If you ever need a kidney PLEASE dm me. That was the most fun plane experiences I've ever had. Holy shit.

Anyway any similar books I should consider reading?

[Routine Help] Help me undo 8 years of apathy :)

My skin is a huge insecurity for me, especially my hyperpigmentation that exagerrates my smile lines/around my lips. I can still see it when I stretch my skin so I don't think its just bunched up. Also I am not a pcos princess afaik. I've been following this routine somewhat consistently but I think I'm leaving some stuff out--any suggestions are appreciated!

cetaphil daily facial cleanser, azeeno skin relief moisturizing lotion, hawaiian tropic spf 70 (only when I go out), adapalene (.1%) and benzoyl peroxide gel (2.5%)--everything morning and night except sunscreen

Need advice on my makeup routine

I just started doing makeup and not sure if the routine I have now compliments my features? I feel more like I'm wearing makeup than I look pretty with makeup if that makes sense. Any tips on making it less obvious that I'm wearing makeup/toning it down while still looking nice? Not a fan of wearing a full face tbh but thats the only way I can cover my discoloration.

Idk are there any other styles yall think I would look better in? Am I applying something wrong? Really new to all of this--critique is SO welcome

[18] My appearance is making it hard for me to go out in public (flattering-->realistic pictures)

Any and all advice is appreciated. Broke atm so probably won't be able to do anything expensive for a long time but I'd like to know my options. I wore a mask obsessively for two years after the pandemic ended so I'm proud of how far I've come, but I feel too chopped to be out in public often which is not great.

I'm aware that part of this is a mental health thing; I'm working on it :3

I'm looking to wwoof in my home state, NC, and I've been having a really hard time convincing my parents that wwoofing is safe. Firstly, they refuse to take anything that the hosts have written for granted and don't have much faith in the reviews either. They are adament that they would visit the farm first, visit all the accomodations, and speak with the owners before letting me stay anywhere (btw: I am paying for my travel/insurance/supplies whatnot).

Is this common? Have any of you been able to visit the farm you planned to stay at and would bringing your PARENTS not be a huge red flag? Is there anything y'all could suggest to put their minds at ease? Much appreciated
