A saloon and poker room on a warship?

I'm currently playing Warhounds, and besides the barracks and gym, I have the option to build a saloon, a poker room, and I think a pool table on the ship as well.

I get that they're meant for stress relief. Just thought it was a funny detail😅

How do you feel about openworld games without fast travel?

I’ve been playing a lot of Stalzone lately, and I have to run pretty long distances to get to some quests. There’s no fast travel, and at first it really pissed me off.

But then I started to get it. The journey itself is part of the experience, and the problems you run into can become stories of their own.

There’s something really satisfying about finally making it back to base with a backpack full of loot after surviving attacks from other players and mutants.

Now I really get why games like Dragon’s Dogma 2 and RDR2 do this.

Let's stop for a moment and enjoy the sunset again, this time in a rather unusual place

Sorry for the little spam. A couple of days ago, I mentioned how much I love sunsets and sunrises, both in real life and in games. I never get tired of that combination. Stalzone

I really hope the Grenader can destroy cover

Enemy hiding behind a wall or Door locked. BLOW IT UP!!!!

If you give me a guy with grenades, please let me destroy everything around me. My homie in footage from the warhounds trailer

When I was younger, I would've sprinted right past this

These days, after a long day at work, I find myself stopping for sunsets. I do it both in real life and in games.

I love how modern games don't need photorealistic graphics to create beautiful skies. Sometimes it's just the right colors, lighting, and atmosphere.

This was a completely random moment in game. My squad was in the middle of capturing an outpost, but I glanced at the horizon, opened Photo Mode, and had to take this shot.

I don't know why, but moments like these make everything slow down for a minute.

Warhounds reminded me of Jagged Alliance

Anyone seen this game called Warhounds? Looking at video footage and it's giving major Jagged Alliance vibes. Turn-based tactics, squad management, that whole mercenary feel to it.

Curious if anyone here has it wishlisted or knows more about it, and how close the comparison actually holds up once it releases.

Not sure why many people are against Lu4

Genuinely happy with what the devs are doing here. Graphics got a real upgrade, balance feels solid, and it still keeps that classic vibe intact. Online numbers speak for themselves too, hit a new peak yesterday with 22,500 players.

So what's actually the argument against it at this point?

Still wondering why Eastern European post-punk sounds the way it does?

Some apartment courtyards really look like this. The only difference is that instead of anomalies, there are garages. And instead of the red glow from the windows, it's usually pink—the light from UV grow lamps people use to grow flowers.

I noticed in the trailer that mercenaries can get tired and need time to recover.

I've been thinking about this, and here's what's interesting: fatigue simply prevents you from taking a mercenary into battle or inflicts debuffs 🧐

Okay, I'm a newbie beginner

I've been playing Stalzone for less than a week, and right now I'm basically a bullet magnet.

I get that the community isn't huge, which also means almost everyone I run into has been playing for ages.

I'm mostly just trying to survive PvP at this point. I have some Tarkov experience. Give me a little more time, though. I'll get there.

P.S. I think this footage is from one of the official videos.

Teachers hated online gaming.

Looking back, I remember my teacher's reaction to me telling them that MMO was my favorite hobby.

I don't know how people feel about it now, but back then, it was just an informal hobby. Populist politicians called games evil, but I simply enjoyed the process and didn't forget about IRL.

Once, my parents were called to school simply because I was discussing my guild's successes at lunch. I was lucky with my parents, so there were no problems at home.

It was a shame that I couldn't talk about it at school. I couldn't talk about the reasons for my hobbies, what I was learning, and why it was truly interesting.

Little-known fact: after defeating Scar, Simba enlisted.

He eventually joined WarHounds and earned the rank of Veteran.

Wait... it all makes sense now.

Lion King. Raised in a conservative family. A self-proclaimed hedonist who only does what brings him joy.

Yep. That's definitely Simba. 😂

Me: I need more damage. Pocket Lair: Have you considered buying stocks? 📈

Found a little trick🤓

If your base in Packed Lair is full, you can temporarily move one of your buildings, place a mine in the empty spot, and immediately expand for cheaper. Then just move the original building onto the newly unlocked tiles.

I have a feeling this probably won't make it into the full release. My guess is that mine bonuses will only kick in on the following turn.

Tried a full magic build and it's insanely strong

I built my entire base in Packed Lair around upgrading spells, and I didn't expect the difference to be this big. Just compare the basic spell to the fully upgraded one.

Sorry for the lag. My Pentium 3 is struggling with OBS and the game at the same time 💀

Small studio, big XCOM 2 energy

Wasn't expecting to find this scrolling random trailers. Warhounds has that same squad tension XCOM 2 nailed, mission tempo, cover, losing a soldier you actually built up.

Mercenary's angle instead of alien invasion though. Coming 2026. I hope, jajaja

I think I have terminal min-max syndrome

I've been working with Excel for 13 years, and I no longer know how to enjoy strategy or roguelike games.

I realized it while playing Packed Lair. Instead of just having fun, I kept trying to build the most optimal base possible.

Please tell me I'm not the only one.

Nooooo, I was supposed to win 😭

I reached wave 12 in Packed Lair. I thought I'd already won, so I didn't even use any magic. Only one brave warrior remains.
