help a disabled baddie design their catio!

hi! seeking some renter friendly ideas to turn the upper part of my staircase into an enclosure for my kitty. we try to have supervised outdoor time everyday, but my health hasn't been great lately and I can't reliably go up and down the stairs. I'd love to have an option where we can just sit at the top together. I was thinking some sort of gate at the front and then mesh on the side, but I'm not sure how to install the mesh and what kind of gate would work.

pretty lights during treatment

i wear my eye mask for the first hour and enjoy the images in my head. but when i took my mask off for my second hour i was delighted by both the blue light and the sun light filtering through the shades.

DIY apartment numbers

Hello!

People can never seem to find my apartment, so I'd like to make a larger number to place at the bottom of my stairs. Seeking ideas!

I'm mostly home bound with chronic illness so looking to use scraps around the house, but can order things. Trying to keep it as inexpensive as possible.

In terms of climate/exposure to elements it will need to withstand, I'm in Los Angeles, so lots of sun, rain a few times a year.

Thanks in advance

edit: grammar.

benefits of switching from IV to spravato

Hi everyone!

I had chronic suicidal ideation for the last 2 years that was almost always alleviated by ketamine, but the IV treatments (about 15-20 sessions total) only gave me relief for a few weeks and I couldn't afford to do them as frequently as needed. So I recently switched to Spravato.

Here's what I'm dealing with, for context: PTSD, a complex dissociative disorder (OSDD, similar to DID), MDD, GAD, ADHD, autism, chronic migraines, long covid, ME/CFS, and POTS.

I was worried spravato wouldn't work as well but I've done 4 treatments so far and for me it's been fucking awesome! I wanted to share an overview for anyone in a similar position.

The main differences I've noticed are:

  • Shorter duration of dissociative experience
    • IV: about 50 minutes, but my time perception was quite altered so it felt like 2 hours.
    • Spravato: about 35-40 and feels like what it is. The first hour I'm very "in it" and the second hour I get a little antsy.
  • Shorter post session recovery time: after sessions I deal with increased sensory sensitivity, physical fatigue combined with mental restlessness (ugh, its annoying!), brain fog, and lowered inhibition.
    • IV: All of the above issues were quite severe especially sensory sensitivity. it was nearly debilitating and would take about a week to recover from. This was not good for my depression!
    • Spravato: the evening of the session I'm a bit more sensitive, but once I go to sleep I wake up and feel back to baseline. The smaller life disruption is so much more sustainable for me. I have sent some stupid texts tho due to lowered inhibition lol.
  • In session side effects:
    • IV: usually very few side effects except for some anxiety, minimal nausea, and more frequently, irritability. I would feel agitated if my set up wasn't perfect, too hot/cold, music wasn't hitting right etc- would really fuck my mood and distract me from the experience. IV just really amplified the autism lol.
    • Spravato: the bad taste can be very distracting and distressing, but I'm finding my way through it (ice cold chocolate milk, lollipops). I feel much less sensitive to sensory input compared to IV, for example, I wore jeans instead of sweat pants last time, and while it wasn't *as* comfy, it didn't distract me or ruin my experience.

That's all I can think of at the moment. I hope everyone is doing ok and has a nice day. I hope this is helpful for someone!

Hi everyone, diagnosed OSDD (maybe DID, TBD) in the last year. my therapist specializes in dissociative disorders, which im so grateful for! ive spent the last 2 years doing PHP/IOP and for awhile it was super helpful, but after awhile they stopped feeling helpful. at this point i've done all the DBT, art therapy, etc etc and I just want more help and support around learning to live with a complex dissociative disorder. Does anyone have recommendations for an online support group? or IRL- I'm in Los Angeles and able to drive.

hi everyone! moved in a few months ago and slowly collecting things via facebook marketplace to decorate my small and strangely shaped living room.

Right now, I'm seeking advice on the coffee table. I'm struggling to tell if the black works with this space, but I'm leaning towards thinking it doesn't. What shape/color coffee table would you suggest?
