Im tired of all the small talk

Is it just me or does anybody feel exhausted by all the small talk "Hi Hello How are you" when you match with someone on dating apps?

Like give me something creative or interesting to move the conversation.

If a match starts with "Hi", I immediately lose interest. How do you respond if someone just says "Hi How are you?"

Which character would you keep alive?

Which BB character do you think should be kept alive and how would it give the series an alternative and epic ending?

I hope Mike was kept alive - and he follows and helps Jesse to escape and live a new life in Alaska 🙂 Story-wise, this would have given a better plot twist in El Camino

Edit: thinking of this in terms of story and plot and not in terms of whether they deseved to die due to all the crimes they did

Does being a digital nomad improve your life?

My life over the past few years has felt pretty flat and predictable. I work from home most of the time, and my routine is basically gym, home, work, Netflix. Occasionally, I go to yoga or explore new coffee shops. (My work is 90% online but not 100% remote).

Lately, I’ve been feeling like I’ve outgrown my local social circle. I’m more interested in meeting travelers, remote workers, adventurers, founders, and people who are curious about the world. I also want access to nature, healthier food, and better transportation (I live in Manila).

The first idea that came to mind was becoming a digital nomad. It seems like the most realistic way for me to experience living somewhere else and meet new interesting people.

For those who are digital nomads: How has the lifestyle actually affected your life? Has it made your life better, or were there things you didn't expect?

I lost the excitement of solo travel

I have solo travelled for the past four yrs, 2-4x a year and always get excited with planning and find joy in meeting people and exploring new places. I chose off beat destinations and do backpacking and multi day treks.

This year something changed. I don't get excited anymore in planning new destinatios. In my past travels, I met amazing people and other travelers but it's a bit of exhausting opening yourself up and never seeing them again . I used to be excited to the idea of reaching another spectacular summit but being alone again without anyone to share with kind of feels depressing.

My life at home is solitary and a bit flat. Mostly working from home and not a very rich social life. My short bursts of travel used to give me excitement but not anymore this time. It's like the I need to build a life not seek another escape. I don't wanna have short bursts of excitement followed by another long stretch of isolation at home.

Anybody felt like solo travel lost it's spark because of the loneliness that follows you? How do you deal with this feeling? Is this temporary?

Getting into client onboading as a beginner

I worked in insurance outbound sales for almost 7yrs now and looking to transition to client onboarding roles in saas comapanies

Can you share tips how to land this role as a beginner? I'm also considering customer success but I dont like the idea of having multiple zoom meetings daily.

I'm currently studying hubspot and basics of crm.

Aside from these online resources, what else can I do to increase chances of getting the role?

Tinder hookup blocked me, what to do?

I hooked up with this guy on tinder who stated his intentions from the start which i agreed. The sex was good and I was attracted to him beyond just physical. He was traveling and left the country after me met.

I sent him a message next day saying he's interesting and I wish we had more time. I got no reply.

2 weeks after I posted a WA status of me traveling, hiking a summit. He viewed t and I was blocked.

It hurt a little because even though I knew it's just a ONS, I liked him and wanted to be friends.

I saw him on another app and I am really tempted to message him there and ask "why he blocked me i t was a bit hurtful" and prepared for no response or maybe block him after sending it.

Help me be objective or what should I do?

Delted the dating apps (for good)

I was on the apps for about 5 months. My original goal was simple: meet people, have fun, and if there was good chemistry, see where it went. I was open to hookups, but I still screened for basic effort, communication, and chemistry through chat.

During that time, I had three hookups that I moved on from pretty easily. They were just sex, and afterward I mostly felt... hollow.

Then I met two men where the chemistry was incredible. Those experiences actually proved to me that you can meet attractive, interesting, high-quality men on dating apps. The problem wasn't that they weren't good people. The problem was that, at least in those cases, they were only looking for something casual.

I realized that while I thought I was okay with hookups, when the chemistry is genuinely strong, I end up wanting to explore the connection further. That's when it becomes painful if the other person doesn't. I know most men in the apps are just after casual and the apps are not built for depth but for unlimited options. It feels dehumanizing.

The other realization was that I simply don't enjoy the process of dating apps. It feels like I spend 90% of my time screening people for basic effort, communication, and conversational skills, only for a very small percentage to lead to meeting in person. For me, the investment no longer feels worth the payoff.

I've deleted the apps and then recreated my accounts several times over the years. I'm hoping this time is different. I hope this is the last time I delete them and don't come back.

If I want to meet someone new, I'd rather do it the natural way. Through sports, hiking, travel, hobby groups, and simply building a life I genuinely enjoy. Even if I don't meet a partner right away, I think I'll be happier spending my time doing things that energize me instead of endlessly swiping.

Has anyone else permanently left dating apps? Did meeting people through hobbies, sports, travel, or communities work better for you?

What men think when receiving text after ONS ?

I matched with a man in tinder and he asked me upfront if I'm open to a one night of fun because he's leaving the next day. We had a little bit of banter before meeting and we were both excited to meet.

We had great sex (best one I had in years) and he admitted it to me as well. We chat a little about his life and work and I found him interesting and I actually wanted to get to know him more. I even said before we proceed, can we just be friends?

Next day I texted "You're interesting, I wish we had more time to get to know each other. Safe travels"

And he hasn't replied.

I accept it could be just a one night and I could just move on as well. He lives in another country but travels a lot.

If you were a guy in his position, what will you think after receiving this text?

I don't usually text meaningless hookups but this man is different from my usual encounters. Like he's actually the type of man I would like to date.
