Revell Chrome Spray + Graphite Powder

I'm spraying a cosplay prop with Revell Chrome on a larger piece. I opted for Revell as it seems to be the best option for chrome mirror finish despite is small volume/price point. Another option in the cosplay community is having a high gloss black base, and then rubbing in graphite powder into it.

Just wondering if anyone has attempted to mix the two and what are the results they found? Debating it because I still can't seem to get a mirror finish on my plastic spoon test despite following online tutorials as best I can with distance/pressure/coating

Pixel 6 Fastboot Logs: Analysis/Protocol

This is a follow up of my post here.

I've downloaded the android_winsub driver from this link

I've also downloaded the SDK platform for windows from this link here and extracted all the applications.

In the file, I selected the "fastboot.exe" file, held shift + right click > Open in Command Termincal.

I ran fastboot getvar all in the terminal and got this:

https://preview.redd.it/78atp6ockibh1.png?width=2527&format=png&auto=webp&s=beb88169e8d4041c654645728b03cb56d57f8bf3

It said "fastboot" wasnt a recognized command. SO I tried the ./fastboot which it recommened but no luck.

Any next action steps I can take?

Bootload Loop: Android Flash Tool help

I woke up 3 days ago and my Pixel 6 was stuck between the Google Logo and "Google" but wouldn't start. I held the power and volume down key to access the fastboot menu- I tried to start from there, I tried rescue mode, I tried recovery mode. No luck.

Per u/Successful-Dance1792 's advice I am using the android flash tool to see if I can get my Pixel working again. I've downloaded and extracted the Google USB Driver to my PC. I put my phone in rescue mode. Connected it to the PC via USB. It detected the Pixel.

I've tried both the "Back to Public" build along with the "Canary 202606" build with the following settings in the first picture (no wipe, no lock bootloader, no flash all partitions". Both builds have failed.

It says I need to have "OEM Unlocking" enabled (Picture 2) but this is done in developer mode which I can't access as I'm stuck in bootloop hell.

I tried to only select "Lock Bootloader" but the message I am getting is something like "This needs a flash wipe or a factory reset" (Sorry I forgot to take a photo).

My current bootloop info is in picture 3. Not sure if that will help diagnose the issue.

The tl'dr of it is I bought a temp(?) phone to tide me over but I would like to port over my apps/history to this new phone. When I try to do so, it says I need to have the phone on and nearby...which can't be done as its in bootloop.

If I install the build with a wipe, its going to wipe everything out (apps, history, local downloads etc, no?) So is it better to just manually add the apps I used to have onto the new device? Is there any way to install a build without a wipe?

Pixel 6 Died; Looking for an Alt. non-flagship

I was hoping to replace my Pixel 6 with a discounted Pixel 9 Pro XL some time in November but it looks like my phone died on me. I'm not too tied to having a "flagship" phone anymore as I'm mostly just using it for instagram, youtube, audiobooks, photos, and heavy spreadsheets for some work stuff. My work also needs to install a secondary profile with microsoft apps on the phone for some data privacy stuff.

I'm using the following filter to narrow down exactly what I'm looking for but the main details are:

  • Needs to be US market purchasable (IE the Motorola Edge 70 Pro+/Nothing 4A is only available in India but the Motorola Edge 60 Pro/Nothing Phone 4a Pro is US available)
  • Needs to be unlocked and able to connect to US networks (ATT, Verizon, ETC)
  • Budget: $250-$650 USD
  • Size: anywhere between a 6.3-6.8" display size
  • Either 8 or 16 RAM
  • 128-256 GB storage. Definetly don't need more than that as my current storage was just about 119GB.
  • Minimum of 48MP camera, but it MUST have a telephoto lens (for concerts/zooming). The larger the telephoto, the better.
  • I'd prefer dual speakers as I don't use headphones when alone and I like stereo.

I've also included brand names I've just heard in the space (Oppo, Hua-waii, Motorola, OnePlus, Nothing etc). I've decided to omit Samsung (not a fan of their bloatware) and Google as the only choice I'm interested in is the 9ProXL.

Not sure what else I can include to narrow down the 51 Results to a short list of 4-5 to look into. If there is a way to filter only US-purchasable phones I think that would help but I didn't see the option.

Nothing is a strong contender but I want to cover all my bases. Any additional filters or metrics I should look into to narrow down my search? Any recommendations from the 51 on this list you would keep/omit?

Spray painting Keyblade

Just wondering if there are any tips and tricks to getting an even coat of spray paint on a keyblade prop WITHOUT the use of hanging the prop; I have no where to hang it indoors and its pretty windy where I am outdoors so the paint wouldn't stick.

Currently doing primer and base coats with it lying on it's side. Waiting a day for the paint to cure/dry, then flipping it to do the other side. This seems to be fine for the base coat and primer but when I apply the top coat, I want to make sure its an even spray between the two sides, ESPECIALLY the edges as those seem to be getting hit twice over when I flip the prop.

Its a 1:1 fully assembled/glued piece so I don't really have a way to stand up individual pieces on a spinning platform either.

TIA

[TOMT][TV Show] "Doubt it" smugly

Not a lot to go on here as I can't recall if its a TV show or movie and I can't recall the year. Its dialogue between 1 smug guy (probably caucasian) and someone else/other group. I think the guy was trying to force some kind of outcome out of the smug guy but he kept responding with "doubt it".

Example dialogue would be:

Guy A: If you don't do X, I'll do Y.

Smug: Doubt it.

Guy A: Okay then I'll do Z!

Smug: Doubt it.

Guy A: Frustrated response

Smug: Short response mirroring tone of "doubt it" for comedic effect.

Looking for a rattlecan/spraypaint to mimic Montana Gold

I'm gifting someone a 3D printed Kingdom Key Keyblade but I need to paint it. This is my first attempt at painting 3d prints and I'm on a budget so I've been watching multiple tutorials on the painting process, trying to get a feel for the right paints to pick.

I came across this (timestamped) video by "Frankly Built" and I love the output but according to him, working with Montana Gold is not ideal for props- mostly for shelved display pieces.

Whats the best paint to use to get the same luster, color, and finish for the Keyblade handle? Yes, I know the actual in game key is more of a yellow/orange, but I'm making it more of metal chrome reflective polished version. I've gone through several gold spray paint videos like this, this, and this but haven't found one which resonates with me as much as the ("Rivals") iron man mask- essentially I want to avoid the gold looking too mustard-y if that makes sense. The closest/best one paint I've seen from the 3 listed is the Krylon Foil Metalic bit its just a bit too dark comapred to the iron man mask.

These are the steps/notes I've taken for the upcoming process.

  1. Dry Sand down the 3D model with coarse grit
  2. Sandable Primer layer
  3. Dry Sand again with higher grit
  4. Repeat until 400 grit achieved.
  5. Apply final layer of base primer. Dry
  6. Apply layer of high gloss black base coat . Dry
  7. Wet sand higher grit.
  8. Apply high gloss black base coat
  9. Repeat 2-3 times with higher grits. Want a near mirror smooth finish for chrome effects.
  10. For the handle: Apply gold paint

I'm on a budget so no more than $15/can and I can't invest in an airbrush set up. I only have a hobby lobby near me for crafts but there are a few autobody shops I could probably go to get paint too.

So 3 questions:

  1. Best alternative for Montana Gold which can be handled without leaving fingerprints and matches the color of Frankly's video as close as possible?
  2. Any issues with the process above?
  3. Is high gloss black really the best base to use for this "chrome"/reflective effect for gold? I know it works well with silver as plenty of tutorial videos show as much but I haven't seen many for gold.
    1. Edit: If I go with the Krylon Metalic Foil, and wanted it to be ligter/closer to the iron man mask, would it be better to use a lighter base coat like glossy grey or something?

TIA! Looking forward to learning from you fine folks.

Highlighted Nutrients: Cholesterol

I got some bloodwork done and it looks like my cholesterol is rising. Figured I would like to actually see how my week is progressing, so I added it to my highlighted nutrients as shown in picture 1.

Weird thing is, the progress bar is not moving at all/showing cholesterol being tracked. I added the eggs because I know yolks are high in cholesterol just now to test and the bar is still only showing 0%.

As I was testing, I saw the view more option and it does look like there is data here (picture 2). I'm just wondering why the 489mg isn't showing on the progress bar.

Any clue as to what I can do? I've changed the daily and max target to random numbers for testing but not seeing any data populate on the bar.

Hand Painting Recommendations

I'm looking to order 2-3 figures from some Etsy sellers but it looks like theyre in grayscale so they will need to be painted. I am not planning on investing in an air brush so I'm stuck with hand paints.

1- What is the best brand for these 3D Print/Resin statues to use for hand painting details

2- What is the best material to practice colors on IE I want to get a gradient effect with one figure hair, but don't want to risk ruining it on my first attempt. With gunpla, we practice on plastic spoons- whats the animeGK equivalent?

[English > Greek (Ancient)] For a tattoo

The quote I am looking to translate:

>Hope is what makes us strong

I'm using this translator, but each time I hit the "translate" button, I get a different output. I'm looking to get the most accurate output I can. The variances I have gotten are:

When I reverse search these in google translate the output is usually "Hope makes us strong" which is a bit off from the actual quote. Option 1 is the only which had the correct output. So which option above is more in line with the quote?

TIA

[English > Old Norse (Runic)] For a tattoo

God of War Tattoo I'm considering. The quote is "It is the nature of thing that matters. Not its form."

I've run the quote through several online converters just to verify if they are the same and seeing as I'm here you can assume my results haha.

Links I've tried:

https://valhyr.com/blogs/fun/old-norse-translator : þat er eðli hlutarins sem skiptir máli, eigi form hans

https://textpixie.com/translator/english/old-norse : Þess er eðli málsins, eigi lögun þess.

https://www.polytranslator.com/old-norse/#src=eng_Latn&tgt=non_Latn&q=It+is+the+nature+of+thing+that+matters.+Not+its+form.&t=%C3%9Ea%C3%B0+er+e%C3%B0li+m%C3%A1la+er+skiptir.+Eigi+l%C3%B6gun+%C3%BEeira.: Það er eðli mála er skiptir. Eigi lögun þeira.

Some similarities between all 3, but I am looking to the runic equivalent like in the first link, it has option for "Futhark"

TIA

Fix Lambda Arguments/ 2 Variables with 3 Arguments Error

I have a data range which looks like this:

ROW/COL A B C D E (Expected)
1 Speed Incline Failed Distance =Current LAMBDA CORRECTED LAMBDA
2 10.5 4 0.51 211 EXPECTED:108
3 6 9 .75 474 EXPECTED:158

The CURRENT LAMBDA function in D1 is:

=map(
    B1:B,
    lambda(elev,
     if(row(elev)=row(), "Failed Elev",
     if(isblank(elev),,
       FLOOR(5280*SIN(elev/100),1)
      )
     )
    )
   )

This calculation works if a full mile is completed but not if there is a failed distance.

I need help fixing the lambda so that the final calculation multiplies the failed (distance * 5280)

I was thinking it would be as simple as increasing the range, declaring a second variable, and then adding it to the calc, but there seems to be a mistmatch on variable/arguments. " Expected 2 arguments, but got 3 arguments." :

=map(
    B1:C,
    lambda(FAIL,elev,
     if(row(elev)=row(), "Failed Elev",
     if(isblank(elev),,
       FLOOR((FAIL*5280)*SIN(elev/100),1)
      )
     )
    )
   )

What am I missing here in this lambda?

Finally switched over to Cronometer last week after years of using MFP. Question about adding recently (-1 day) scanned food and the search bar in the (android) app.

I know I can change/sort the "All" foods section by "most recent," "best match," "A>Z", and "Z>A" and scroll down to find the food I ate yesterday in question, but is there a dedicated section where I can search JUST the foods I've personally scanned/eaten in the past few days instead of scrolling sorted list?

IE if I were to start searching "simply...." in the current "All" section, I get a whole host of food I haven't eaten before, instead of having "Simply nature, organic grass fed ground beef" at the top of the search and THEN maybe have other options to add.

The closest approximation I've found (as I was making this post actually) is switching over the "Brands" section and then "searching" but its a 50:50 here. Sometimes the starting keyword will have the exact scanned item and other times it will just recreate the "all + search" issue I described above.

Is there a way to have the search bar only search recently entered items as a separate tab? Or at least return the prior scanned items first in a keyword search?

TIA
