PNW Fall ♥️
72 F for the air, and the water is still lovely, though cold (60-61 F). Swam about 25-30 min, it was invigorating!

I'm stocking a squash court at work with new racquets after the ones that were there have been broken. I'm looking into getting four racquets, fine enough for intermediates, but okay for progressing too (maybe two can be a bit more advanced than the other two). I would like some variety (for example with and without bridge) for people to have some variety.
I will be buying in the US. Not sure about budget but shouldn't be an issue. Say maybe $200 max per racquet, which seems plenty for this? The racquets will staybon court and just be used by coworkers as part of our sporting facilities.
Any recommendations?
TIA!
More of that PNW end of summer. Beautiful water, and fantastic for swimming. I stopped three times for long swims!
This is the top of Mt Rainier with a cloud that works well with the volcano shape, hence "Cloud Rainier" is the name that came to my mind. View from one of the small beaches by Sammamish Landing.
It's coming. I am sad as I only came back home two weeks ago and summer is already crashing (unlike other years that were glorious until October).
Trying to paddle and swim every time there is sun. Went tonight and it was great. Though rain showed up by sunset and I paddled back in the rain from the other side of the lake 🤷
The obnoxious "Start Free Trial" upsells are making me look elsewhere
They're really getting worse and worse. And take a huge amount of space in activity details. I assume that there is no way to get them to disappear except by starting the trial/subscribing...
So... What would be a good alternative to Strava? I don't care about leaderboards at all, I have used it to record hikes, paddleboarding, workouts, etc. But I am tired of the upsells ruining the whole user experience now.
My sensors are an older Whaoo Bolt Elemnt 2 on my bike, a Fitbit Air, a Polar HR 10...
What are your suggestions?
I'm taking the light trail from the Eastside to the art museum, and am pretty surprised by how there is no bike lockers at the station (Symphony). One option is to go to Capitol Hill, lock there, and ride back but that's wasting a solid half an hour.
Where would you lock your bike by SAM? It's a simple commuter bike, two speed automatic (so good luck if you steal it, it's always in the wrong gear). I have a Seatylock Mason small U lock (18 cm, or 7 in) and can remove a bolt of two from my front wheel to annoy people. The wheel would be locked with a single flat band lock. Or, just today, another Seatylock (14 cm) because I brought two to see which smallest size I can bet away with. Supposedly the Mason is angle grinder resistant, and I am hoping there is enough traffic in the area for angle grinder attacks to not happen in daylight? I can also (if I remember) take my seatpost with me and leave it at the coat check.
Where would you park? This will be for an hour and a half max.
Beautiful light on Lake Sammamish this morning!

I guess the plastic may get brittle over time? The pump is just one year out, and hasn't been left in the sun though. I reached out to their customer service.

Of course I didn't have a backup with me (borrowed car). I may carry a spare hose from now on... Holding this against the valve to inflate my Elysium Air to 19 PSI was a bear...
Do I understand correctly that the Z2 is 45% more expensive than the P80 in the US with the cheapest burrs (code)? The $2,000 price doesn't include burrs, correct? So I am looking at $2,300 vs $1,600? That's pretty close to the 102mm Lagom 01, or Kafatek...
Who wrote and can justify that ad copy? "Need more storage!? Organize!?" Not to mention "Book now," haha... Laziness, strong lack of English skills, or AI, I am not sure where this comes from.
Most importantly. Would you buy it? 🙃
I'm trying to figure out that that looks like. I found a use manual from Acaia that looks just like the regular Lunar manual plus one paragraph for brew by weight that refers to a LM arriving saying to connect the scale in the app. There doesn't seem to be a new documented mode for BBW.
So what's the user experience? Does connecting the scale to the Mini lock it into BBW mode unless one unpairs it? Or can one still access all the other moves of the scale, or some (basic stuff for example)? I share my scale between machines... Also, IIRC there are settings for two weights and a claim that the app is not needed after pairing (and maybe seeing the weights), so how does one switch between then for example without the app?
If there's documentation online I missed, please send me in the right direction!
Trying to figure out if getting that scale is good, or if I should look at the shotStopper, which has its own downsides (including the requirement to flip the paddle back quickly, apparently, for it to be able to stop the shot later).
I'm in a house that doesn't have a kitchen hood (yet). As a result, there are thick deposits of grease on lighting fixtures etc. Those have all been removed due to a ceiling project, and so that's my opportunity to decrease them. They're painted metal, black and (formerly) white. I have used Method's citrus oven degreaser successfully, but I would love something I can just make a solution of in a big tub, and let the things I need to clean soak. Any recommendations?
Lake Sammamish, WA, and the beginning of the Sammamish River. A few minutes away from my house. Looked up and a bald eagle was right above me in a tree. So close! It wasn't a very tall tree, for once. Turned around and drifted with my eyes full of Mt Rainier.
And then I swam! So nice. The lake buoy said 62 F, but it felt nicer than that (and I was on the other half of the lake).
Hope you all have a fantastic long weekend coming up!

Hi all,
I have honed carrara marble countertops that I want to reseal. They have lots of character (etching, courtesy of wine glasses and friends dropping acidic stuff on them) that I don't think I will take care of now because I don't feel qualified... But I want to remove a couple stains and reseal.
The stains are from the rubber feet of my espresso machine (plus maybe flying coffee particles?) before I realized that they were leeching into the countertop. I since put felt on the feet. What would you recommend I use to take the stains out? The stains are old (years). See stain picture below.
Then I would like to reseal the marble. I haven't done that in a long time, and even then I was just using a spray. What is a recommended product to do a job that will last longer than the Amazon sprays?
TIA!

Beautiful day for a paddle and a swim. The swim was pretty cold, though. Anybody else enjoyed the lake today? There were lots of people by the beach and a few other crafts out on the water.
