Natalie Wood and Gene Tierney. The Ghost and Mrs. Muir (1947)
Please recommend me some Holly Hunter movies to watch!
Besides being very beautiful, she is a truly great actress.
The first movie of hers I saw was Copycat (such a great thriller with also the incredible Sigourney Weaver), followed by Thirteen (for which she was very deservedly nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress). Then I watched Living Out Loud—a great romantic comedy with dramatic undertones and a fantastic role where she looked stunning (it features a great dance scene in a club set to Brownstone's "If You Love Me"). Yesterday, I watched Broadcast News... A really strong comedic performance, great chemistry with Albert Brooks, and she was beautiful with short hair (I love the dress she wore to the gala!).
A song I love... And now, whenever I heart it, ot will bring back a memory. ❤
Hi Lambs, this song has been a favorite of mine ever since I listened to Mariah's debut album earlier this year (if I'm not mistaken). Well... now I’ll always associate it with someone special: my dear, beloved grandmother.
She passed away this Friday, the 17th, at 8:35 PM. I had gone to visit her at midday that same day. She was my everything, just as I was hers. I cared for her, looked after her, and did everything within my power to help take her mind off her worries. I know she left this world happy, knowing she was treated so well by me—just as she had treated me.
Oh, and this was the song I played for her on Thursday, right before leaving after my one-hour evening visit. I started the track and held it close to her ear. I will love you always, Grandma.
What a lovely way to start this beautiful day! Here's My new obsession... ❤❤❤
I listened to this song by the Queen less than an hour ago... Boy (I Need You). What a beautiful song. The video is so aesthetically pleasing, Mariah looks GORGEOUS (as usual).
My questions now are... Should I give Charmbracelet a listen? I have the song Yours downloaded and obviously I know and have listened to the lead single from the album, Through The Rain. And another, what are your top 3 songs from this album?
Kisses and happy Wednesday, Lambily! 🐑🥰💋
Happy 36th anniversary to Mariah Carey (the album)
This album is such a GEM!!! Maybe one of my favorites so far (tied with Music Box). Almost all her songs are MASTERPIECES and BANGERS. Lately, I'm obsessed with “Alone In Love”... WHAT A GREAT SONG! I can imagine that music video 😍
PS: Love U always, M! ❤
I just finished watching WiseGirls (2002) ... And Mimi was great un her role
About half an hour ago I finished watching this crime drama film starring Mariah (if I'm not mistaken, her second film role, not counting cameos), and I must admit I loved the movie and Mariah is pretty normal as Raychel. And guys, the final scene in the restaurant... I mean, WOW!!! And the scene after that, with Taryn Murphy's beautiful song "Make It Go Away" playing in the background, is short but very sad.
What's the next movie I should watch with her? I'm thinking of watching Tennessee, or maybe, if you guys recommend it and mention it a lot, I'll watch Glitter.
Watching the Chucky series. Season 2, Episode 3
I like the friendship between Lexy and Nadine... I especially liked this episode because they're getting closer.
Lexy is so erratic because of her addiction, because Devon and Jae don't pay much attention to her, her disdain for Trevor, and especially because of Chucky.
Anyway, she won't be like that anymore... since something happened with Trevor. Could you tell me what happened to him? (Obviously, I already know.)
My favorite actor... Montgomery Clift (17/10/1920 - 23/07/1966)
Portrait of Jennie (1948)
Okay... First of all, I want to wish Joseph Cotten a very happy heavenly birthday (which is why I watched this movie for the thousandth time today).
Second, this movie is one of my many favorites and my comfort movie ever since I first saw it 3 or 4 years ago! And since then, I've probably seen it more than 5 times.
Cotten is sublime in his portrayal of a painter struggling to find himself in his art, who encounters a beautiful and mysterious young woman who serves as his muse for his signature painting. His chemistry with the beautiful Jennifer Jones, in their fourth pairing, is very romantic.
Cotten knows how to convey his loneliness, sadness, and discouragement in a very particular way. His acting is masterful in this film. His performance was impeccable. Definitely, my favorite movie and performance in which he appears is THIS!
I would have given him my Best Actor Oscar nomination without hesitation. His performance was completely overlooked, but time has proven him right. Despite everything, he won the Cannes Film Festival award for Best Actor.
In short: a beautiful yet tragic film about love, art, and faith. Ethel Barrymore, Cecil Kellaway, Lillian Gish, and others complete this wonderful cast. The cinematography and photography are superb. William Dieterle (who directed Cotten and Jones in *Love Letters*) is a very good director. I will never tire of watching this film.
Hairspray (2007)
Love this movies a LOT!!!! Everyone were very good. A funny, entertaining and enjoyable film for the songs, the choreography, the acting (special mention to John Travolta - snubbed for an Oscar nom) and the 60s vibes.
And, WHAT A CAST! Travolta, Michelle Pfeiffer, Christopher Walken, Queen Latifah, James Marsden, Amanda Bynes, Allison Janney, Zac Efron, Elijah Kelly, and introducing Nikki Blonsky as Tracy!
Do you have any memories related to this movie?
Vivien Leigh and Clark Gable. Gone With The Wind, 1939.
The weather where I live today is very much like the name of this song... You're SO COLD!!!
PS: sorry for the Portugese subtitles... I'm not from either Brazil or Portugal, by the way. I'm from Argentina! ❤🇦🇷
This song always makes me happy!!! Such a beautiful one
I'm asking specifically about the UK charts because Madonna is kind of absent from the BB Hot 100. Although, given Sabrina's popularity, she might make the top 10, you never know... But I see that as more likely in the UK charts.
For me, one of the best actresses who ever lived... Easily a truly great and unparalleled talent. Every film I've seen her in has never disappointed me.
From Double Indemnity to The Lady Eve, from Ball of Fire to Remember the Night, from Sorry Wrong Number to So Big, from Witness to Murder to Clash by Night...
And for you, which actress do you think will never give a bad performance? (Obviously, this is a very subjective question)
I watched this movie last month... And I ABSOLUTELY loved it!!! The theme song is beautiful 😍
